  Another Outstanding Visit with our Esmeralda Family

  We have been vacationing at Bahia Principe properties since 2010, when we participated in a "destination wedding" in Jamaica. Since then, we have added 7 Bahia trips to our hotel experiences (Tulum, Mexico, as well as Samana and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Esmeralda ranks #1 among our favourites. The Punta Cana complex actually consists of multiple separate hotels; guests at Esmeralda have access to the specialty restaurants at most of the others, meaning that, during a two week stay, guests can enjoy a different cuisine almost every evening. But it was the level of service offered by the Esmeralda staff that was the most memorable feature of our stay. It seemed that everyone who works there endeavours to make guests feel like a member of their family and to undertake the "extras" that make an enjoyable experience a truly outstanding one. This year, we noted that a number of individuals actually remembered us from our trip a year earlier. It began with Greily Martinez at the front desk /reception area and continued with our concierge - Alfredo Javier Severina, who seemed to find a way to be helpful every day. At the pool bar, Alberto would always greet us with a friendly smile and a few kind words. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Esmeralda - perhaps as soon as Spring 2026, since we are now both retired. David and Rosemary McCaffrey

  Great Vacation Spot

  Great resort, too bad the no see'ums and sand fleas were in full force. Buffets, a la cartes, and entertainment was wonderful. Loads if variety. Room was very clean, the whole resort was well maintained. Having access to all of the other resort areas added to the trip. Golf cart trolleys were a great addition. Shout out to server Anderlin in the lobby lounge area - very friendly throughout our stay. Ivelisse in the M.E.A.T. restaurant was amazing. Adriana, one of the managers, was extremely helpful particularly after I was injured. Thank you all for making the trip special!!

  Beach and pools very good, food and entertainment not so much

  Beautiful beaches and pools. Chairs available. Food average at best even the al a carte, not flavourful. One night at the buffet there was lobster tails, tough and overcooked. The Brazilian restaurant the meat was overdone. I have been to Brazilian restaurants before and this one is doesn't compare. The fish market, limited options and bland at best. Language barrier, if you speak Spanish you are good to go, struggle with English. Shows sub par repetitive dance toupe, duets were pretty good - group numbers not very good timing off. spacing off they need work.

  He had a great time at Bahia Principe Luxery Esmeralda

  We had a great time at the resort, the rooms were very clean, the food was great, and the pools and beaches were very clean. Some of the events coordinator such as Gelean who was the aqua fit leader did a great job.He encouraged participation and was very friendly to everyone

  Bahia Esmeralda visit

  Our visit at Bahia Esmeralda lasted 2 weeks from 12.11. 2025 until 26.11.2025. Overall vacation was good but from some points of view, disappointing. Arrived at the hotel on 12, and when room given found out that it was at second level of the actual building, when went in the room it was as imagined and as we so in the pictures, no comments about that, only thing was that we wanted a lower floor room (for the toddler, being more easy). I went to reception and asked what do we need to do from that perspective, to Have a lower floor room and they were very kind to give a discount for an upgrade for a room at low level, with swimming pool. It was great to hear. Paid for the upgrade and thats when the things started to be unpleasant. Arrived at the room, noticed no shower gel, shampoo (no big drama asked and they brought). Noticed that the TV was not functional, called and they fixed, noticed that the vault was locked, called for assistance and never solved the problem ( again, no big drama). The room itself was noticeably oldish with mold smell + walls in poor condition (bathroom flooded from top floor, more to come about that). Also the coffee machine not functional, never had the issues solved (this was very inconvenient as there was no possibility to have a coffee by 7 AM) and when you try to order through the app, you cant as it shows you no posibilities for breakfast / coffee until 7 AM . The last two things that are most disturbing were in one morning, about 3 AM we noticed that water is pouring through the wall inside the bathroom (called reception and it was fixed next morning) and the worst thing is the noise, very loud especially when the hotel staff are passing to have their crew change at 3 PM and the noise coming from other rooms, so take that in consideration when you want to check in, room 96017. At the end lf pur stay we asked (one week before) for late checkout and the reception staff said, sure, come and tell us one day in advance. When did that had the surprise to be told that it is not possible, but after explained the situation (especially being with a toddler that has the nap at around that time they finally agreed, of course with a 50$ payment)…Again maybe for some people don’t seem to be big things/issues but you have different expectations when you go at a hotel *****. Again, disappointing! Only good thing was pertaining the entertainment staff.
