We chose a non-preferred tropical room, and it met all expectations. I never felt excluded from any experience or activity for not being preferred status. Our room was clean, had everything we needed, and my favorite part ended up being the secret cubby for room service. I celebrated a big birthday while there, and the staff was so gracious and friendly. My door and room was decorated, I had special birthday cakes 3 nights, and great attention from everyone! I’ve never felt so special. I will put a full review on trip advisor this week.

Outstanding hotel, outstanding staff and outstanding stay!
The whole experience staying at Secrets Akumal was amazing. The staff were absolutely outstanding, offering brilliant customer service day after day and genuinely made it seem nothing was ever too much for them, they were always very attentive and provided a service with a smile at all times. The food at the restaurants was incredible, including the buffet at market cafe, with such a variety of options for breakfast. All the restaurants were good but Himitsu and Bordeaux were particularly outstanding for dinner, providing excellent customer service, amazing food and the atmosphere was brilliant. The lunch time grill was outstanding with a different theme everyday, all cooked on a grill in front of you fresh. If that’s not enough then there is a pizza oven running every day for fresh pizza cooked in only a few minutes! The pools were always clean, fresh towels always available at all times for sunbeds with the main pool having an excellent pool bar with amazing staff such as Ivan and Santiago. Ivan was brilliant for the whole holiday, he makes it seem as though it is a genuine pleasure to make you a drink and if you’re not sure what to have, he can knock something up for you to try. Super friendly bar staff who genuinely want you to enjoy yourself and can’t do enough for you. The daytime entertainment team were fantastic, there were plenty of activities of a wide variety to get involved in. Alan was particularly amazing, he turned up every day with great energy, always smiling and somehow remembering everyone’s name! He showed genuine interest in your life in conversations and was just a pleasure to be around. The staff do not hassle you at all to get involved, they politely ask you, describe the activity and leave it up to yourself to decide. The beach is amazing with gorgeous white sand, an amazing pool bar with swings to sit at and a reef in ocean right outside the hotel. We went snorkelling and saw lots of different sea life. We paid a brilliant team 40 dollars per person who weren’t part of the hotel but just had a business a bit further down the beach, they took us to the protected area where it is the law to have a guide with you and we saw 10+ sea turtles, stingrays and even an eagle ray! Gina, our concierge for building 7 was lovely. The concierge text you daily to let you know what is going on that day, food and entertainment etc. there’s also an app to check daily activities and lots of other things. The evening entertainment was always great, with live music at the lobby bar, were people headed for a drink either before or after dinner. There are also usually a big show set up in the evenings with food somewhere around the hotel if you fancy something different to a restaurant. All in all the whole service provided by the hotel staff was incredible for our stay. Absolutely nothing is too much for them, they greet you with a friendly smile and always say hello. The pool staff and entertainment team somehow remember your names and the whole vibe and atmosphere is just incredible with guests being super friendly. We met so many different people, of all ages, from all over the world. I genuinely think the hotel is made for everyone of all ages. I will definitely be coming back to stay again one day, that’s for sure.

Top Notch vacation getaway!
Beautiful resort and very convenient to new Tulum Airport. Great amenities, food/drinks and activities. We really enjoyed our time at Secrets Akumal and everyone should check it out. We have tried many UVC/Secrets resorts and Akumal is one of the best. Great pools, beach, restaurant choices...and most importantly the staff is gracious, helpful and the entire activities team is amazing. Special Thanks to Fernanda and Noe, Rubin, Ricardo at the pool!

Best All Inclusive Around! Do Not Be Afraid of Mexico
The service is the best we have ever had. The food at every restaurant was incredible. The drinks and wine were fantastic. The amenities, shows, classes were so much fun. take the bike ride tour they offer. The snorkeling is wonderful.
