  Amazing time

  Amazing time. We slways pick Riu, all inclusive adult only and first time to Mexico did not disappoint. Hotel Spotless, staff always cleaning night and day. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Foyer light and airy, used hotel bar s few times but preferred bars by entertainment area. Room Modern, light, airy, great air con, we had a partial sea view and south facing balcony so perfect for us. Shower was amazing, great water pressure. The towels were changed daily, room tidied every day, loved the towel creations, especially the way our room was decorated for my birthday whilst there. Food We lived the choice of food in the main restaurant whether breakfast or dinner, the staff were amazing, remembering our drinks was a lovely touch. We used the Asian restaurant a couple of times and that was very lovely too. As someone with allergies the food and labelling was some of the best I have seen, thank you. The snack bar by the pool was also very good, the flavoured fruit water each day was our favourite, we loved all the flavours, wish I could make them as good back home! Pools These were great, plenty of choice, never had trouble getting a bed, but there are still some people who feel they need to reserve beds, not needed at all. The pool bar trolleys, these guys are amazing and only too happy to make you a drink, work hard in the heat. Entertainment The Riu shows are always great and the team work so hard to put in time to make them good for us to watch. We enjoy the Kahoot and even won a prize this year which was lovely.

  Pretty great for a non-Palace RIU

  This was a last-minute trip and we booked here because the RIU Palaces in the area were all full. We typically stay in a Palace, but since this is adults only it was the deciding factor to try the Latino. I wasn't expected to be impressed; however, it was quite good. There are some differences between a Palace and this regular classic RIU. Most notably is no room service here, which I ended up liking better. We don't really order room service because RIU isn't known to have a good room service menu so we don't bother. The thing I liked about the Latino not having it is that there are no disgusting plates with food left out in the hallways until housekeeping comes to clean. People in the Palaces will leave a mess in the hallway and then complain about bugs....duh. We were upgraded from a "partial sea view" to a "sea view". If I had booked the "sea view" I would have been disappointed because to me, it was the original "partial" I booked. It was at the end of the building where the suites bump out farther than the side of the building. If we were sitting on the balcony, the view was blocked by the building on the left side. It still had a lovely view, but I wouldn't call it "sea view". No big deal for us, but if I paid extra for it, I would have asked for a different room. We've had the true 'sea view' rooms at other RIU's and they are usually a full view with no building obstructions. This would be, to me, rooms over the lobby area or over the theater. I was way ok with our location, which was near the elevator at the end of the building and 4th floor. It was very quiet unless the show was going on, which is to be expected. Food is subjective. The Italian was our favorite just for the salad bar. We could have skipped the entrees and just had the salad bar. The buffet was varied and always had something that was decent. It's hard to cook for the masses and have everything spiced correctly. People need to realize that they are not sitting down to a Michelin star meal and there is enough offered that they shouldn't go hungry. The cleanliness of the resort is up to RIU standards. Everything was spotless and housekeeping did a great job as well as restaurants, bars, etc. The beach is beautiful and the guy working the umbrellas is fantastic. He hustles and tries to make everyone happy. It's hot down there and he works his butt off with a smile. The one thing that everyone says is that the walk is awful for anyone with mobility issues. I would agree if you have problems walking. We don't so it wasn't an issue, however, there's no bathroom or bar down there. I like to get my own drinks so going back and forth is good and bad - good that a little exercise is needed. We've stayed next door at the TRS and they have a boardwalk down to the beach as well as a bar on the way down so it's easier to pop up to get a fresh beverage or use a restroom. The ages of the guests are from 20's to 70's. I was expecting a party till you puke crowd and that only happened once. Some young girl decided to vomit in the pool bar one day and it closed down the pool for the rest of the day. She got out and went to the other pool bar....really?! Other than that, the pools were very clean - even the pool bar water. There were guys replacing tiles one morning and they didn't even have a snorkel. Those poor guys had to hold their breath while they worked. RIU... please give them snorkels at the very least. We went to the neon party via bus to the RIU Dunamar. Didn't stay long. There were SO many kids and strollers. Didn't try the water slides. One girl was very bruised and said it was from the slide so that threw us off, but a lot of people said it was a blast. The last thing I want is to get injured on vacation. They always looked fairly empty. I'm wondering if RIU owns the property on the other side and will eventually build another resort that's family friendly. Seems odd to have this at an adults only. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. If you go, please tip. Everyone there works so hard and a few more dollars for your vacation should just be worked into the budget. Just because it's all-inclusive doesn't mean you shouldn't tip for good service.

  Great facility

  We stayed at Riu Latino for 7 nights and 8 days and loved it! Overall they have very adequate facilities and capacity….food, bars, pools, beach, and staffing for the number of rooms at this resort. Never trouble finding chairs at the beach or pool. The drink service at the beach was surprisingly good for not having a beach bar. Servers regularly came around with a variety of drinks and even took drink orders too. The beach is not that far of a walk at all. The beach was well groomed every day and there was always someone helping you find an umbrella. The drink carts around the pool were a very nice accommodation. Overall, the service was excellent in every way. We had an issue with our safe and it was attended to in less than 10 minutes. The food was wonderful everywhere except the steakhouse. The Steakhouse was by far the worst meal and if we go back would not bother going there as the chicken was over cooked, the sausage was burned black, and my steak was ordered blue and delivered well done. Our favorite place to eat in the evening was the Italian restaurant which had awesome steak and salmon always cooked perfectly and our second favorite the Kulanarium. The only challenges we found were too few bathrooms in common areas. The night club is fun if you can stay up that long – opens at 11pm. Sometimes there is little going on between 9 to 11.

  Best hotel in Cancun

  Riu Latino was Awesome for adults. Lisandro made the process easy and fixed all issues. Brandon made the dining especially nice. They have great staff with exceptional customer service. I will definitely return here again. To hotel Lation Te amo mi amore!

  🆘 READ THE REVIEW BEFORE GO TO THIS HOTEL

  RIU LATINO The worst experience we’ve ever had at a hotel in Cancún. You can’t rest at night; people walking through the hallways or even hotel staff sound as if they were inside your room. The food was terrible, no flavor at all, including the drinks, desserts, and the restaurants. The only decent thing was a pumpkin soup. The service, in our experience, was racist and discourteous. Foreigners like Americans, etc., were given better attention. I had to speak with someone and express my dissatisfaction, and it’s sad because I understand they do this hoping for tips — but we, who are from this country, do leave tips because we know how hard they work and how helpful tips are for the waitstaff. Sadly, foreigners, when it’s an all-inclusive, don’t leave tips! One of the activity staff members, named Ana, in our experience with her, should work somewhere where she doesn’t have to deal with guests — to put it nicely based on our experience with her. The only redeeming qualities were that the hotel is kept clean, and the kindness and smile of the waitress Juana!
