    Very Pleasantly Surprised!!

    Took a chance on the Outrigger, coming from the east coast of USA I had never heard of them. It was on Costco's travel site and I love Costco- if its good enough for Costco its good enough for me. Having a bad experience at the Hyatt hotel in Waikiki, I knew the standards of east coast Hyatt's was not applicable to Hawaii. I was very happy at the Outrigger, it was a beautiful property. Service was great, from check-in to the valet service. The only gripe I had, would be they don't have a "real" full-service restaurant. Its location to the marina is a huge plus with all the water tours you want leaving from there are within walking distance. You can tell everybody in the Hotel is trying to lift their game, very friendly and the take care of any inquires you may have.

    Fantastic week for our family

    Great location, incredible views, fun pool, good food, helpful staff, nice layout for the property, easy to park and travel around the island, good value, great size room, laundry available, fun Lua, manta feeding, and more. Highly recommend!

    Poor service if there are problems

    If you're looking for a hotel that leaves a lasting impression, this one certainly delivers. The oceanfront room offers a stunning view, especially if you angle yourself just right to avoid the massive concrete wall that blocks half of it. The bed is incredibly soft and cozy, perfect for couples who enjoy rolling into each other involuntarily throughout the night. It’s like a built-in cuddle feature! Just don’t expect fresh sheets when you request them—housekeeping keeps you guessing, skipping days at random (despite no request for “privacy”). Water pressure? Phenomenal. You’ll feel like you’re under a waterfall—especially thrilling when the water comes out dark brown. It’s a rustic touch that really connects you to nature, complete with actual dirt and rock particles. And the staff’s advice to “just run it for 30 minutes” adds a fun challenge to your evening routine. Management is ... hands-off. They respect your independence so much that they’ll avoid all attempts at contact, even after multiple tries. When they do respond (via text, despite multiple attempts at contact in person and over the phone), their creativity shines through in the form of imaginative storytelling. And the billing surprises? Just part of the adventure—a 5% charge that appears after checkout keeps the excitement going, especially when you follow up and they tell you they have not charged you despite the line item on the credit card bill. On the bright side, the pool and grounds are beautiful, and the live music in the evenings adds a lovely ambiance—perfect for distracting you from everything else.

    Outrigger I’ll miss you
