Another of many excellent trips to this resort. We keep returning becasue the staff is incredible. Kenddell Sansores is the best on the entertainment team and has become like family to us. Miguel at the pool bar always takes good care of us. The hotel is clean, the food is better than most all inclusives. I highly recommend this as a great adult getaway spot!

Always enjoyable
We recently visited Ocean Maya for the second time after enjoying our first trip in 2024. We enjoyed it just as much, if not more, this time around. The food is great, and a nice variety. The staff all around makes an effort, and all are very friendly. In particular, the entertainment team is fantastic. Kenddell on the entertainment team is funny, energetic, and makes you feel like family, making every activity he is involved in fun. Service and atmosphere are fantastic, the resort is laid out beautifully, and we would not hesitate to visit again.

Ocean Maya Royale delivers exceptional value for the price, easily one of the most reasonable resorts you’ll find. The food ranges from good to very good, especially when you factor in the cost, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. The staff and vibe team are truly outstanding—Kenddell in particular deserves special praise. He’s the kind of person who’s always smiling, always lifting the energy of everyone around him, and can brighten even the darkest night with his attitude. The coatis and other wildlife roaming the property add a fun reminder that you’re far from the Midwest. That said, the resort is starting to show its age. Some areas—both inside and outside the rooms—have chipped or discolored paint, and a few pieces of furniture feel worn. The biggest disappointment was the spa: the hydrotherapy area is underwhelming, and although we paid for an 80-minute massage, we only received 50 minutes and were not offered any partial refund. Despite these issues, the value, food, and especially the incredible staff still made for an enjoyable stay.

KENDELL IS THE BEST!
It was amazing!! This was our third time back and everyone was amazing as always! Kendell is beyond amazing and always goes above and beyond!!! Honestly Kendall is the main reason we go back!! We have also made some friends that we still stay in touch with once we go back to our own states/countries. We always recommend OMR to everyone who asks about our mexico trips. We cant wait to go back next year!!

Would go back in a flash! Great place for quiet vibes!
I stayed here for a week with my daughter from November 24th-December 1st. Here is the following breakdown: LOVE Mike's coffee; that place alone would have me coming back again! Pros: Service and staff = excellent Rooms = extremely clean with a daily stocked fridge. Nice set up with 2 sinks and a roomy shower. Pool = 1 huge relaxing pool and love the idea of a second activity pool with music. Great choice to do games, aquagym and then go relax on the quiet pool. Activities = great choice of activities with a vested entertaiment team. Shout out to Kendall and Moises. Food: Buffet = very satisfying. Some items better than others but lots to try. Japanese = usual show, great salmon kebabs. You could also go anytime and sit at the counter for wonderful sushi. Italian = pasta was very flavorful but found the Osso Bucco quite fatty. Mexican = did not try this one as had great tacos, i.e. fish, shrimp, beef, pork during lunch. Blue Moon = wonderful raclette (ate it twice), great steak but had to return the coq au vin as chicken was very dry. Braised ribs were good. Nightime activities = fairly quiet, however fire show was great! Beach = on cloudy days, dark water HOWEVER had 2-3 days where the water was emerald green with a nice sandy bottom. Very few rocks (more like peddles) and no seaweed. Cons: Pool = the quiet pool should have a handle with stairs as was difficult for people with mobility issues. The quiet pool had 2 ladders and a slope to go in but no ramp. The activity pool had 2 sets of stairs with a ramp. Room = ground level patios could do with a ramp for more privacy.
