Dec 02, 2025Treat yourself to some luxury in a great resort with fabulous service
Resort is new and fresh and the swim up room we had was great. The service is amazing out butlers Karen and Joaquin were outstanding and helped us sort things we didn’t even know we needed sorting :) Dinner reservations , pool chair reservation, morning coffee, spa menus etc etc. Marchello and Erik in the restaurant were also outstanding for their breakfast service. They literally wouldn’t let us carry a plate up 3 steps without dashing to help. Amazing job. Then the land shark inn all the car tenders were great they helped keep everyone going at all times. The entertainers were also really good and I mean really!! Normally they are a bit naff at an all inclusive but these were amazing.

Dec 02, 2025I had one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
When I arrived early in the morning, I was told my reservation was somehow made for a different property owned by the same company. I asked them to correct it, and they told me they would take care of it. Instead, they kept me waiting from 8 AM until 9 PM — only to finally say there was nothing they could do and that I needed to cancel the reservation and rebook. If they had simply told me that from the beginning, it would have saved me an entire wasted day of sitting in the lobby. All they offered during those hours was water — no food, no real assistance, nothing. It was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. On top of that, after checking in, I became physically sick. My skin turned red, and painful bubbles/blisters appeared all over my body. I arrived completely healthy, and this happened only after being at the hotel. It made my stay miserable and honestly alarming. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. Poor communication, complete lack of customer care, and health concerns on top of everything. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel is nice and clean. Loved the butlers assigned to us, Joaquin and Karen really went out of their way to make us feel special and that our needs were met. Food at the restaurants was very good!

Let me just start by saying we live in Jalisco MX, near Guadalajara, so my experiences will be based upon a pretty good understanding of life here. Rented a car at the Cancún airport because we had planned to go to XCaret (which was awesome) so after a short 25 min drive down the Carretera and some signage problems, we arrived and checked in. Great experience in the beautiful lobby and we’re taken to our room. Room was clean and appointed with all the expected Margaritaville touches. Rather than having a filled mini bar, they offered a store with chips, soda and beer on a points system. Liquor, sports drinks, green tea and candy was at an extra cost. Buffett dinner in the Boathouse was good, although many of the serving dishes were empty, some items were cold. Pool side the music was I describe as Gen Z wedding reception/ night club. NOT beach/ poolside Buffett themed. Only good available outside for lunch was a small buffet or the taco bar. Great food but very limiting over 7 days. The Landshark food was good, but when I wanted to take my order to the cabana we had, I was stopped by a staffer saying it wasn’t permitted. Drinks were inconsistent from one bar to another, even at the same bar. I had three different rum runner daiquiris that I watched being made with different ingredients each time. The two reservation requested restaurants were very good, service was slow and my meals were both delivered cold. Our 31 st anniversary dinner was very good at Frank and Lola’s Italian restaurant. However at 5M the next morning we both became violently ill and were room bound the entire day, missing thanksgiving. Understaffed and over worked servers and bartenders were the most glaring shortcomings.

Excellent, but not without issues
Lovely rooms, well laid out and very comfortable. Plenty of space to store items so you can keep it nice and tidy. The cleaners were efficient and effective everyday, just be sure to hit the switch at the door that marks the room as ready for cleaning. The staff at the resort are amazing, super friendly from Sergio the evening fry cook who ends up giving everyone he meets a pet name (mine was commandante). from Isme, Maria, and Daniel the day time Bar staff who were always happy to fetch drinks, come back with a smile, chatty, and friendly to Gabino and Carlos the morning and evening waiters at the buffet who always did their best to make sure you never went without a drink (coffee, or other). Love them all. Overall most of the noise quietens down by 17:00-18:00 most of the partying happens during the day. It does suffer from having nowhere to really escape for some peace and quiet as overall the resort is quite small. With 4-5 restaurants, your evening options for a meal are a bit limited especially as 2 of them you need to book in advance. This alleviated by good room service, and the fact the buffet has multiple theme nights so there always feels like there plenty of variety. Breakfast, however does feel a little medium, pretty samey, decent enough but if you want an omelette get there early or be prepared to queue. Atmosphere is a chilled resort with a bit of a party atmosphere, so its a nice mix of both worlds without being massively overwhelming. As for location, the ocean view is lovely but be warned, the beach washed away in a hurricane last year, and the stairs to ocean were washed away this year in a hurricane, they are working with the Mexican government to solve this..... buuuut it will be a while, I would be interested in returning in the future to see how this develops. Overall, I had a great time, its a resort not without problems, but the staff are lovely, the service is excellent, and the cocktails plentiful. If youre looking for a place with a bit of a party atmosphere, and but also some quiet evenings to relax. I highly reccomend.
