We just returned from the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus and was very impressed with the entire resort. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks are also very good. The nice sandy beach was amazing. The highlight of our trip was being able to see the fish just off the shore.
very good sunset beach resort
If you are reading these notes, you are interested in vacationing at the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, which, I believe, is a good idea. I and my family are returning customers. The reason we return is a calm water sunset beach, a friendly atmosphere, and nicely kept premises. Then why not 5 points you may wonder. Next, I’d like to make a few suggestions to resort management in the hope that they will be addressed. First, the resort must obey quite hours at least from 11 pm to 7 am. This must include the DISCO that tortures patrons with senseless ‘boom-boom’ well deep into the night, potentially through 2 am. This entertainment must be moved away from habitation buildings or shut down. Second, when a family arrives and asks the front desk for quite accommodation, it shouldn’t be placed in building #1, which is just in front of the theater and is the noisiest place during the evening. I talked to a number of US-based families who asked for a quite room and ended up in building #1 for their first night. Do you believe in such coincidences, I don’t. The resort undertakes a renovation. Currently, building #7 is shut down for construction. This activity doesn’t affect patrons much unless you use the main pool or stay in the neighboring building #6. Because the renovation advances slow, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it lasting into the next winter season.
Transfer from the was airport was about 1 hr the hotel is very nice, reception staff very helpful thanks to gizzy who gave us a lovely refurbished room overlooking the pool bathroom was ok walk in shower. food at the buffet restaurant and at the beach restaurant were very good drinks were ok lovely swimming pool but lots of noise from the refurbishing going on in the block near the beach all staff were very helpful the entertainment was ok not as good as the Iberostar Bavero
Excellent, don’t miss this hotel!!!!!
All I can say that is the best hotel. Clean, comfortable, kind people, great food, breathtaking beach and amazing hotel with all the animals that are there! I stayed in this hotel a few days ago and left yesterday, so sad!! We were going from a bad experience in iberostar punta cana but nothing to do with this hotel! The food was great the buffet always had new things and had “thematic nights” so the food changed as well. We visites all the thematic restaurants, we went to the french, Mexican, Japanese and steak house, don’t miss anyone! Great experience in all of them. I celebrated my birthday in the Mexican so much fun! Bars great they have everything you ask for and if not they make it possible for you. Also had the possibility to visit the spa, great experience if you can do it don’t miss it! Animation team really good, tormenta and azúcar the best, my regards to them! The only negative point is the attention of some workers in the buffet, you has to ask them a lot of times for water or for coffee and some were just doing nothing. Despite of that, don’t miss this hotel! The sunsets from the beach are unaffordable, wish i can go back soon!
Family Thanksgiving trip 2019
My family and I travel every Thanksgiving. This year we chose the Dominican Republic in spite of the media hysteria. We have been to two other all-inclusive resorts in Panama and Jamaica. We stayed at RIU Resorts for each of those trips and RIU Resorts are nice facilities. However, the Iberostar Resort Hacienda Dominicus was a superior resort in all aspects and the food was exceptional. The staff was very accommodating, the check in process smooth, and the room was clean and ready for our arrival. We had a first floor poolside JR suite that had a large tile restroom with a walk-in shower and a king bed. The room was very clean with a modern flatscreen TV with channels in English and Spanish. Overall, a quality room with no real issues except a slow drain in the shower. The grounds are immaculate and continually maintained. Just a few tips for folks who are new to all-inclusive resorts to help make things a little easier. First, in the rooms at most resorts the air conditioning will not work unless all exterior doors are FULLY shut. Second, if you want a prime spot at the beach or pool you have to get up early and reserve your seats with your towels. Add a book or something that is easy for people to recognize as not belonging to them. I have never had someone take our seats once we saved them unless it was by mistake. Third, you have to trade your pool towel cards for towels. That’s just the way it works. Fourth, if you want to eat at the restaurants you have to make a reservation. If you want to eat early go make reservations early. Again that’s just how it works. Fifth, remember your on vacation. If you find yourself feeling anxious chill out. You are going to be surrounded by many people from all over the world who have different perspectives and different speeds for doing things. Relax and learn about those cultures and appreciate them for their differences. Lastly, use your resort map and ask staff for help. Take advantage of the amenities and book a trip off the resort. Take the time to educate yourself about the resort and don’t get upset and grumpy because you failed to pay attention to how things work and then act like an ass because you didn’t get what you want, the way you wanted it, when you wanted it. The staff work hard to accommodate a wide variety of people and will usually bend over backwards to help. Especially at the Hacienda Dominicus. This is a legitimate 5 star resort. We loved it, would absolutely come back, and probably will.
