    A good experience

Hotel Theodore is a pleasant hotel in a good location in downtown Seattle, close to things like the Seattle Art Museum, a multiplex theatre, and lots of shopping venues. In addition, it was only a couple of blocks from the Light Rail’s Westlake station, which made getting from SeaTac airport cheap and convenient. The staff was friendly and responsive, and our room (a Junior Suite) was comfortable, well equipped and well priced. We will stay again!

Excellent service and amazing location made our stay great!

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Theodore. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. The location is fantastic—within walking distance to many attractions. The market is about a 10-minute walk, and the mall is roughly 5 minutes away. The valet parking staff were also great, although there is a $60 daily fee for parking. Our room was spacious, but I would recommend adding some drawer space. I prefer to fully unpack, and while there was a wardrobe for hanging clothes, that was the only storage available. The bathroom was quite small, and since I was traveling with my two daughters, it would have been helpful to have a larger mirror in the room. We made use of the bathroom mirror and the smaller mirror by the sink, but additional space would have been appreciated. The wall art in the room may not be to everyone’s taste. We had one large picture of a man in a suit positioned directly across from the beds, which felt a bit uncomfortable for three women sharing the room. However, the other architectural photos were much more neutral and pleasant. The shower was average, but the hotel amenities and the artwork throughout the lobby and common areas were very nice and unique. The Christmas tree was beautiful, and the coffee shop in the lobby was extremely convenient. For Starbucks fans, there is also a Starbucks located right across the street. Although I would have preferred larger windows with a street view, we still had a wonderful stay. The staff were very accommodating. I originally booked a single queen bed for three people, and they quickly offered an upgrade to either a king or two queen beds, which made our stay much more comfortable. Overall, Hotel Theodore provides great service, a prime location, and a very welcoming atmosphere.

Good location, but junk fees and small rooms

I'll start with the good: location and everyone was friendly. Otherwise, everything was "meh" to "are you kidding me?" I booked through Amex Travel to use a hotel credit. When I arrived, I was asked to tap my Amex to make sure I got my onsite food & beverage credit - that was it, that was all that was said. Lo and behold when I received my receipt after leaving the hotel did I see I was charged an $87 "destination fee." I honestly have no idea what that was for (don't give me the BS about wifi, gym, etc. - those are basic, expected amenities). I am sick to death of these hidden, unbundled money grabs that you can't opt out of. At least with airlines I don't have to check a bag or pay to choose a seat - it's not like they're charging me separately for wing maintenance and lavatory use, which is what these stupid destination fees are. The room itself was decorated nicely enough, and I liked the tile in the bathroom, but it was TINY - I've had bigger hotel rooms in Manhattan. It also wasn't cleaned after the first day, and we were then told we had to request service. 1) that wasn't disclosed at check-in or else I would have; 2) the labor shortages caused by COVID ARE OVER, so please stop using this as an excuse to cheap out and keep even more of my money. It's a slap in the face with a "destination fee" not to even clean rooms on a daily basis - again, that's a basic hotel service and not something I should need to request. Opt out, not opt in.

    Clean and friendly

Room was clean, staff was nice, helpful and friendly. Only downside of the hotel is there isn’t an easy drop off point, driveway to for pick ups
