Sep 24, 2025Make sure rooms are pool are remodel befor booking
I stayed at the Hilton San Salvador and was extremely disappointed. The rooms are old, dirty, and in desperate need of renovation. The carpet was ripped and badly stained, the mattress was old and saggy, and the bathroom was small, outdated, and not clean. The swimming pool was also unpleasant — unsanitary, poorly maintained, and there wasn’t even an umbrella for shade. The lobby looks nice and recently remodeled, but unfortunately, you don’t sleep in the lobby. The rooms are nowhere near Hilton standards. I understand they are remodeling the rooms, but until that work is complete, I would strongly recommend avoiding this property. It does not live up to the Hilton name.

Nice, comfortable hotel with very functional air conditioning. Cleaning is excellent. The building is not new, but very well kept. The executive lounge is a great place to refresh, especially if Maria is there. She helps even to design your trip, even special request, like buying online a Salvadorian football ticket.

If you come to San Salvador this is the Hotel to stay at....
A big part of the joy of visiting El Salvador for my wife and myself is the stay at this hotel. Just spending the day in the hotel is a big vacation day. The location, the view, the food and the best part of the experience is the service. The staff makes you feel as if you are coming back home from the minute you arrive!! Enrique, Leslie, Walter, Olimpia, Zayas and the rest of the staff have gained a place in our hearts. Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Hilton San Salvador. The room was beautiful and incredibly spacious, with a separate living area, office space, and a large bathroom. It did have a slightly musty smell upon entry, but overall the suite was very comfortable. While there’s no true balcony, the windows open and offer a fantastic view of the volcano. One major perk: the Executive Lounge is conveniently located right next door, with light breakfast, snacks throughout the day, and wine and beer in the evening. A great option for travelers looking for space, convenience, and views.

Fantastic hotel in a Beautiful, safe, friendly city. Highly recommend!
The hotel was beautiful, relaxing, clean and the staff were amazingly friendly! The breakfast was delicious, especially the lady that makes the Papoosas. They were a highlight of our days! The coffee shop in the hotel was located in a stunning serene setting with delicious coffee and cakes! The swimming pool was relaxing with a beautiful view of the volcano. Our highlight was definitely the tours that the hotel arranged through El Salvador positive Tourist and our tour guides, Diego and Josue were absolutely awesome! They were so friendly and knowledgeable and took us to all great places. We felt very safe in El Salvador. It’s a beautiful country and I hope everybody goes to visit. Perfect for a family vacation or a couples weekend getaway. Great value for money!
