  Sure not what it used to be.

  I stayed at this resort Nov 29-Dec 6 with family. I was so pleased to be going back to Panama again, with this being my 8th time at this resort since it opened in 2000. The country and its people are still wonderful, the resort is still beautiful, and oh that lovely long beach! But I have to say that the changes since being sold to Wyndham have not impressed me. The buffet food variety and quality have deteriorated, and the buffet restaurants serve the same thing over and over. The Asian and Mexican restaurants were perfect with food and service. The Cowboys service was incredibly slow and served up some very tough steaks. The hilarious part of the Cowboys restaurant though was the dessert - we ordered the carrot cake and it çame as vanilla cake with vanilla icing and grated carrots on top. We laughed so hard - they do try but sometimes lose the idea in translation. We ate at the buffet again on our last evening, and I suffered food poisoning that night. I’m glad it was on our last evening and not at the beginning of our trip because I was able to make it home for a few days of recovering. The food temperature was probably what caused it, with most dishes being tepid and not hot enough to stay safe. Unfortunately, this has soured my feelings about this resort which is a real shame because I certainly had enjoyed everything about all of my other vacations here. I agree with some other reviews regarding the evening entertainment shows. There used to be some English spoken but now they are entirely in Spanish. We booked the Plus section. I don’t think the value is there for the extra money. Unfortunately the Plus reception area was closed on the second day of our stay for repairs, so the preferred lobby was not available to use. On arrival, there is no form of greeting at the entrance and not enough information given on check in. Bring back the envelopes with information on the towels, dinner reservations, hotel layout and what to expect for departure. We used to be greeted with a cold glass of punch or lemonade, and some lovely couples in Panamanian costumes. We attended the orientation but the two gals were caught up in the chaos of everyone talking at once and asking questions over each other in a panic which an organized presentation could have handled. They were selling tours before anyone even knew how to make dinner reservations. I think Wyndham needs to add a bit of personal touch back to this beautiful resort for the English-speaking guests, and not let it slip any further away from what it used to be. Most importantly, clean up the food service safety. Food poisoning is dreadful and dangerous. I guess I was lucky I didn’t need hospitalization.

  This place was wonderful. The entire week of travel was incredible. The facilities are good. Plenty of amazing food for the three meals at numerous restaurants. The pools are great. I enjoyed the beach. Nightly entertainment was terrific. Not much english spoken at the resort. For what it costs, I feel it is a bargain. I will be back!

  Well-Kept Charm and Great Local Food

  While it is an older resort, it is very well kept. The food is excellent, offering local options that I particularly enjoyed. The entertainment is also good, featuring lots of engaging audience participation.

  Never again

  Not one of the best all inclusive resorts I have been to .Rooms need renovating .No welcome drinks or snacks in rooms.had to beg for towels and alot of the employees there are racist.
