I joined my family at this resort for a family vacation July 2019. Despite it being a Couples Resort, I thoroughly enjoyed it as a single individual. It is much smaller and intimate that the larger resort I am use to. The location was also able to accommodate my vegan request nicely. The wow factors came from the staff, beach front suite, water sports, and excursions. Scuba diving with Suga and riding ATVs with Roeshaun was amazing!!!! Please request for them if you are able! ... Oh and they have a nude beach and bar on the property which was a first for me but a great experience :)
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we weren't disappointed - even when it rained! This hotel is wonderful... the rooms, the staff, the food - all were excellent. It was my first time in Jamaica and I'm so glad we chose Couples Swept Away. A special mention goes out to Julian - Captain of the glass bottom boat and our snorkelling trip; and to Allea (Halle Berry) who worked tirelessly with regard to the entertainment - both went out of their way to ensure we had a fun time. The service and food in Feathers was superb. Palms for breakfast was perfect and for the buffet and entertainment too. Patois was also good for table service. Cabana Grill great for day time or night time snacking, Seagrass for fish tacos is not to be missed. Lemon Grass was nice but I think I chose the wrong meal... Martini Bar was good fun too! Rick's Café is A MUST! The Sunset Cruise is another MUST! Such a fun trip we did it twice. Snorkelling - never done it, we have now - what a great trip that was too. Didn't get to try paddle boarding or kayaking, but there's always next time. Our weather was on the rainy side most afternoons but hey, there's always a bar and cocktails to be enjoyed.... Finally, we did get to Dunns River Falls - a very long day out but well worth it. All in all this, for me, was one of the best holidays ever.... COUPLES SWEPT AWAY - WE WILLBE BACK!
First Time, Wont be the Last
This is our 3rd trip to Jamaica but our first in Negril and staying at Couples Swept Away Resort. We are already planning our second trip to this resort. This is an adult only resort. If you are looking for one of those fancy big resorts that boast over 1000 rooms and requires you to hop on a golf cart shuttle to get around the resort or have to fight for a lounge chair by the pool or beach, don't go here. BUT, if you are looking for a small friendly boutique style resort where everything is walking distance and not over crowded, then this is the place to go to. They have various types of rooms from ocean view to garden view, the only recommendation I have when choosing a room is asking for an ocean view or a premium garden veranda view as the noise from the nearby road can get noisy at times. It didn't bother us much as we didn't spend a lot of time in our room. We spent most of the time on the beach or doing the various activities they offer at no extra charge. From glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling, paddle board, wake boarding, and canoeing, there was really not a lot of time spent in the room other then sleeping. The staff are super friendly and is evident that they are encouraged to make your stay as pleasurable as possible without being 'tip motivated'. I have never been to a resort where staff have refused to accept monetary gratuities but this was a common occurrence here and for me eliminated the worry of having to bring small bills when i just want to lay on the beach and order drinks. The serving staff attending those laying on the beach or by the pool were very active and constantly made their rounds replenishing your drinks or bringing you a light snack from the snack bar if you choose. Security was also very active on the beach ensuring the local vendors selling various items on the beach did not cross a certain boundary, which most vendors respected. There are a few that do test that boundary but are immediately approached by security to remind them. We never felt pestered or constantly bombarded by beach vendors which is nice when you are just trying to relax and get some sun. The food was excellent, a perfect variation of local and western flavors to wet your pallet. Again if you're looking for a resort with hundreds of different options, like 6 buffets 10 a la cart choices or a fusion of this and that, then this is not the place for you. Go to those big fancy resorts. You will only find delicious local favorites (jerk, oxtail, fish, etc) and the usual western options (burgers, pizza, pasta, etc). The show stopper for us was the beach! This beach is amazing! White sand and crystal clear water for miles. I brought flip flops and water shoes but barely wore them as I spent most of my time barefoot when I was on the beach or in the water. In a nutshell, this was our first time at Couples Swept Away Negril, but definitely will not be our last. The resort was clean, cozy and safe. The staff was friendly, polite and attentive. The food was flavorful and fresh.
we are swept away !!!!
best resort ever that we've been to. we weren't able to use the pool because we spent most of our time on the 7-mile beach if we are in the resort. more options to spend during the day whether inside or outside the hotel. staff are great and accommodating. rooms are comfy and clean. different restaurants to choose from (just don't forget to book reservation ahead of time). live entertainment every night in Palms. SPECIAL MENTION: Abigail - you rock girl. we ended our stay with the Silver Bird Orchestra and a bonfire in the beach. Canute, Favian, Stacey, Osiane (Feathers) and many more - restaurant staff are awesome. Sports Crew - you made water sports easy to learn. Bar staff - you know the cocktails well !!
My husband and I went to Couples Swept Away for our honeymoon, and we will definitely be back. We've even recommended it to our parents! The resort itself is beautiful, the food was delicious (we loved Lemongrass and Palms, especially with all of their different buffets each night), and all of the included things to do were a huge plus. We were able to go snorkeling, go on a catamaran cruise, and a glass bottom boat ride for no additional expense and without leaving the resort. We also got a couple massage, which was great. We loved relaxing on the beach, and hanging out in the crystal clear blue water. We will be back! Can't say enough good things!
