Beautiful, clean, great service and Beach. Large resort with wonderful food and restaurant options. Wish there were more bar locations. Juan was the best and kindest staff member we have ever met! Emanuel, Emilio and Alberto were also wonderful.

Absolute Paradise – Our Best All-Inclusive Stay Yet!
We’ve just returned from an incredible stay at Barceló Maya Riviera, and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality, stunning hotel, and a level of service that made the entire experience feel effortless. The buffet restaurant deserves special praise. It’s one of the best we’ve encountered at an all-inclusive resort: beautifully presented dishes, fresh ingredients, themed stations, and an impressive variety that changed daily. Whether you’re after authentic Mexican flavours, international favourites, or healthier options, there’s always something outstanding. We also loved the four à la carte restaurants, each offering its own unique atmosphere and impeccable dishes. Every meal felt like fine dining—creative menus, beautifully plated courses, and attentive staff who made each evening special. Make sure to book early because you’ll want to try them all! The facilities are stunning, especially the enormous pool and immaculate grounds. The rooms are modern, spacious, and luxurious, with views that look like they belong on a postcard. Everywhere you go, the resort feels calm, elegant, and perfectly maintained. If you’re considering this resort—go! Barceló Maya Riviera is truly exceptional, and we’re already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommended.

For the most part we loved our stay here. The hotel was super clean, staff was amazingly helpful, fast, and sweet. Views were beautiful and beach and amenities were great. The reason 2 stars is gone is because the food was average if not below average for a 5 star hotel. I'm not sure if its because we came as part of the Ember Shores music festival and maybe food for this was different than the normal food they serve but some of it was not well heated, options were limited, and quality was not great. Most dishes tasted very bland and often I could not find much to eat and settled on easy dishes just to be full. I wouldn't say the meals were really enjoyable. Honestly my favorite dish was the mashed potatoes which kind of say a lot about everything else. That being said, the hotel itself and beach here is gorgeous and it is very well kept. The staff were incredible. Room views and everything was great otherwise. would have been 5 stars if not for the food.
