Welcome to Tahiti

The largest island in French Polynesia, Tahiti meets the ocean with grandeur and holds within it a nearly untouched interior of verdant mountain valleys, clear streams, and awe-inspiring waterfalls. Get away from it all and soak in the serenity of the island’s raw landscapes or enjoy the capital of Pape'ete and its world-class restaurants, accommodations, spas, nightlife, and shopping.

What to Do in Tahiti

  • Dive Right In

The Tahitian islands are world-famous for blue lagoons and rich marine life, making diving and snorkeling one of the top things to do in Tahiti. With an average water temperature around 80°F and over 1,000 marine species (including over 20 species of shark!), the Tahitian seas offer a perfect opportunity for ocean enthusiasts of all interests and experience. Strap on a mask and make the most of a casual afternoon or dive into the depths of an atoll lagoon.  You won’t be disappointed!
  • Participate in Polynesian Culture

Practically any time of year you can find rich cultural festivals that celebrate the history and practices of the Polynesian people. From flower festivals to outrigger canoe races, these experiences help give you the full picture of your island paradise. There are also numerous opportunities to experience Polynesian dance, food, storytelling, and cinema on the islands.

  • Go Chasing Waterfalls

One of the Tahiti’s defining characteristics is its lush landscape boasting cool cascades. Go exploring on your own (make sure you only trek along well-marked paths) or make a day of it and take a tour that takes you to major spots, such as Vaiharuru Falls, Topatari Falls, and Puraha Falls. How refreshing!
