The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room furniture was very uncomfortable, although the bed was good. There was a problem getting a a chair by the pool or beach. Small beach area, but large pool area, though both were crowded. The beach was nice for walking. Restaurant food was good, but we preferred to go to the Malecon for dinner and entertainment.

The Hotel was fine but their number one goal was time share sales!

They were relentless. We arrived late in the day and they would not let us go to our room until they had badgered us to sign up for a time share pitch. We didn't and our room was at the front of the hotel with a noisy street view. Every time one left the hotel the time share sales person would chase you down! Also, the hotel implemented a 12.5% gratuity for all food and drink a few days into our stay. There was coffee in our room the first night but after that we had to purchase coffee for our little coffee maker. Now that I know the ropes I could handle another stay. The transfers from and to airport were difficult to set up since we had the Apple package. On departure we almost had to just pay our own way back to airport as the concierge woman was confused about our Apple transfer.

We just returned from our trip to Mexico and I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Aside from the fact that they tried to push a timeshare meeting on us (but we found this to be typical of Puerto Vallarta in general...the airport, hotel and even the shops), everything exceeded our expectations. We tried, for days, to find a way to book tours, but everything seemed to be tied to doing a timeshare meeting. It wasn't until the end of our trip that we found a desk, in the center of the lobby, where we could book tours not tied into a timeshare. The tours we booked (Rythym of the Night and Outdoor Adventures) were incredible and I cannot recommend enough how Vallarta Adventures runs their tours. They were some of the best we have ever done. Check in and check out, at the hotel, were extremely fast and efficient (but we did arrive and leave on a Thursday so those are not big travel days in general, our room was very clean and comfortable, the food was really good and service was impeccable. Even though we have done all-inclusives in the past, my husband is not a fan of buffets so we were both pleasantly surprised to find that we could order off menus at the restaurants, which we did every day. We did do the breakfast buffet, which had a nice assortment of American and Mexican food. The grounds were kept up very well as was the beach. Unfortunately, local vendors were on the beach all day and we were approached frequently to buy their goods. Again, this was typical of the area and not just the hotel. If bothered by this, there were 3 pools to sit at to avoid this as they were not allowed on the hotel's grounds. Because we love to travel, we try to never go back to the same place twice, but I definitely would like to return to Puerto Vallarta and stay at this same hotel. If you are the type who likes extreme luxury and not being engulfed in the culture of the country, I would recommend staying in Nuevo Vallarta as this part of Puerto Vallarta is where the locals vacation, but everyone was extremely friendly and nice and we were not treated any differently. El Centro was a quick bus ride away or about a 20-30 minute walk. We took the bus into town several times, but walked home in the evenings. We felt extremely safe everywhere we went and we never had a problem anywhere. My only suggestion is, if asked "how long are you here for", be sure to say "We are leaving tomorrow". Otherwise, you will be pulled into another timeshare push.

Hotel was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The room was adequate and paid for an upgrade. Even when you turned on the tv and it showed a beautiful hotel, but in reality was not what it was. It was a selling for timeshares hotel. The food was the worst part of all and so glad we didn't do all inclusive because I would have asked for my money back.

check in took forever! we had to wait 2 hrs cause our room wasn't ready. This is Apples issue cause of their flight times chosen. we should have been told check in wasn't till 4pm. upon arrival at the airport we were accosted by a timeshare seller for half an hour or so, appeared to be an Apple employee, not appreciated.

Origianlly we were scheduled in a studio room which was very good except we requested a king size bed but didn't get one. In addition, we were next to the road which was very noisy. We only stayed in that room for one night. For an additional $20 per night we received an upgrade to a one bedroom suite far from the road and more central in the complex which was great!

Our trip was very relaxing and so much fun. Claudia Camarena, who is a manager there, always makes the reservation and check in process very easy. She will help out with anything needed. The staff on the beach is great, Francisco and Miguel are great people. Alberto at El Patron is the best restaurant waiter in the business. We will be back soon to relax on the beach with our family at Villa Del Palmar.

So we were able to get a ride from the airport to the resort using pre-arraigned transportation. The vehicle was large and clean and got us quickly to the resort. After clearing up a bit of confusion with the front desk, we got introduced to a resort information specialist, Montserrat De La Barrera. This lady was a wealth of information, and gave us a excellent once-over of the resort grounds. Don’t know what they’re paying her, probably isn’t enough. Rooms were clean, the food so far is good, and the four snoring bundles that I’ve got in the kids room says this day was a success. Looking forward to the rest of the trip, and thanks to Ms. Barrett’s guidance, we’ve now got some great ideas and possibly a timeshare to look at. 😎

Perfect location!!!

I gave this place 4 stars only because the first two days we had a room with a view of a wall to the first floor restaurant. We were allowed to change rooms but who wants the hassle of that. The change was worth it tho because we ended up on the 3rd floor in from of the pool and had a beach view. Also the first two days were consumed with timeshare agents. They were obviously good because we purchased one. The plus side was that we got a discount for some amazing excursions and the spa. The location for this place is perfect because a lot of things are within walking distance. The bell boy Cesar Araiza Jimenez made our experience awesome because he was available and very helpful when we needed anything even when it was time to checkout. He's great with kids too!

Great clean hotel with everything you need.

The hotel itself was probably the cleanest I've ever been in, both outside and inside. The layout was great without having to walk a great distance to whatever you wanted, beach, pool or restaurants and the amount of rooms made it feel cozy and not overwhelming. We had the All-Inclusive and the only issue that took some getting used to was having to sign a bill after anything you ate or drank. We understood the concept as it is not just an All-inclusive but both no services and meal plan only but it was still an imposition. Also some things weren't included that didn't quite make sense like having an ice cream at the Crepe stand? They did let you know that these things were not included but for $1.50 it shouldn't have even been an issue. Also check your final bill at check out as sometimes the room number can be wrong as we were charged $2400 pesos for lobster that we didn't have but they went back thru the receipts and confirmed that it wasn't our purchase but another rooms. The food overall was very good with some things not quite to our tastes but others like the Prime Rib dinner outstanding. Being able to order food while being around the pool was a great benefit as you didn't need to dry off and head to a Restaurant. The choices of Restaurants was good also, we tried the Italian but mostly ate at the Market. We also enjoyed the Sports Bar and their Mild Buffalo wings. The rooms were comfortable and roomy and we had a room overlooking the mountains and the main Blvd. The noise level wasn't too bad and we slept with the door open for the fresh breeze instead of the a/c which was a bit noisy. Now what made this hotel excellent for us was the people. They all went out of their way to smile and say Hola and for the most part anyone that was serving you was friendly and conscientious of your needs. So even though we like to stay at different hotels when we travel we would not hesitate to stay here again. The atmosphere and activities were great, the food was good and the people generous. We spent an enjoyable stress free week without crowding or such but apparently the previous week was a rush for Spring Break so if you can, go after the Peak times.
