The location of the St. John Westin was fantastic. Would definitely recommend to travelers to rent a car to be able to access other beaches on the island. The foot at the resort wasn't very good and was very expensive. A better alternative would be to have a room/condo with a kitchen to prepare small meals. The transfer to and from the hotel was timely. The information I received from Apple about how to find the transfer at the airport could be updated - i was told to find a person in a Hawaiian shirt, however, the St. John Westin had a desk in the baggage claim area at the airport and that was where we were supposed to check in for our transfer to the island. The staff at the Westin was very friendly. Ashley, the concierge, was ery helpful and extremely nice to work with. It would have been helpful for the Apple Vacation team to advise us to check in with the concierge upon arrival as they had information and discount passes for us that we weren't aware of right away. The rental car office on site at the Westin was less than helpful - we ended up renting a car from a place in town (for less $) and they arrange to pick you up from the resort so it's pretty seamless. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the St. John Westin. We heard that they are going to do some major rebuilding of the resort, but I hope it doesn't loose some of it's island feel - the property is great and it's nice that it just blends in with a lot of the scenery vs. being a large multistory building interrupting the beauty of the island.

I can't complain about a thing. One day the maid service forgot to put coffee in our room and within minutes they delivered it. All of the employees were helpful and kind. The food was delicious. The room was clean. The check-in was smooth and informative. I'd go back to the Westin in St. John in a second!

St. John Westin Resort is a special place in the Caribbean. It enhances tremendously your vacation with an excellent architectural planning and design set in an incredible parklike setting with a good relationship of the surrounding enviroinment. The services at the resort are superb and the staff incredible

First off i want to make clear that none of my issues have anything to do with the island’s recovery from the devastating hurricane. And the Westin along with other properties are still getting back up on their feet. Overall the property is lovely and is well on its way to a full recovery. The service at the bar / restaurant are very nice (though the food is mediocre). We had a great time at the beach and the pool. BUT the front desk staff and concierge are absolutely horrible and very rude. There is simply no other way to put it. The list of issues, unfortunately, is rather long. First off we got a lovely email from our “personal concierge” before we arrived. We emailed back and never got a response... ever. We never heard a word from our “personal concierge” throughout our whole stay. When we arrived, as most people do, we asked if there was a chance we could get an upgrade. Of course we did not assume we would get one - but the employee literally roled her eyes at us. The very nice bellhop was so disturbed by the front desk employees attitude, he told us that was not right and that she should have treated us with more respect and then suggested we call the front desk since we had Marriott status. That same day, our first day, we noticed that there were only two chairs on our patio. We are traveling with our young son and planned to eat in the room a fair amount so we asked that they provide us with another chair (the reservation says there is seating for four). They said that would not be a problem when my wife called. Hours later - there were still two chairs. I called again to see if they could deliver the extra chair. The lady that answered simply said “no - there are none.” So I went to one of the Check in areas and told the attendant what was going on. “Oh - yeah - they won’t give you another chair” she said. At this point I’m getting flustered. The concierge overhears and asks what’s going on. I tell her. She then proceeds to explain that there was a storm here and you have to accept there are no more chairs. I respond by saying I know there was a storm but her response doesn’t make sense since all the rooms around us had the appropriate amount of chairs. She continues to argue with me until I mention that there seems to be a lot of chairs in the check in area that are not being used. She then tells me I’m being rude. I then ask for a manager. The manager dispersed for twenty minutes. I have to ask another employee to go get her. She then tells me - yes - we’ll get you another chair. By the way it had bird exrement all over it. If I was asking for something mildly special Or unreasonable maybe this attitude would be understandable- but I was asking for a chair that was supposed to be there. But it doesn’t end there. My wife and I decide to avoid contacting the front desk at all costs to ensure a nice vacation. But a couple days later there was no coffee in our room. No big deal, right? Well we asked them to bring us some. They said they would ring it right over. An hour later - nothing. I decide to go to front desk instead of calling again. The lady at front desk (a different employee - not someone I Had to deal with before) barely even looks at me when I explain what was going on. With an obvious frown she begrudgingly asks what room we are in. She then calls housekeeping. Mumbles that we never got our coffee. She then proceeds to laugh on the phone as I stand in front of her. When she hangs up I ask “am I missing something? What is so funny? Is my request unreasonable?” She then says nothing. I repeat my question. She replies “I’m sorry if that made you uncomfortable”. I tell her it most certainly did. There were other issues as well - but not worth getting into. I’ve neber stayed at a hotel where the front desk service was so rude and made you feel less welcome.

This place looks amazing!!! We had the best relaxing experience we loved it and will go back for sure!!! Perfect family get away felt safe with my teenage daughters. The staff was very nice and helpful!!!

So happy to be able to return to St. John and stay at this amazing place. We have been anticipating our return since the last time we were there and it was 2 years overdue. The resort was beautiful, the staff was very attentive, and the villas were very clean and comfortable. It is basically a brand new resort. There were still some things that were not reopened such as the Lemongrass restaurant and the tennis courts but it had no impact on our trip whatsoever. If anyone is hesitant about returning after the storms, please don't be. The resort and island are just wonderful. I could go on and on. Thank you to stjohncondos.com for arranging our stay for us and to Drew at St. John Concierge for arranging our dining and activities for us.

Westin St John is doing a reasonable job bringing itself back after the horrific hurricanes in Sept, 2017. There are still many villa not yet ready for occupancy, but all of Sunset Bay and Bay Vista are available.
