We were greeted with friendly staff. Our first night we were in a room towards the back of the resort and it was a little noisy early in the mornig from some work being done but the staff moved us to a great room with no problems. The resort is wonderful and the food was great. The staff so friendly and accomodating. Thank you. More>

2nd Trip to Sunscape Sabor in the last 6 months

My husband and I traveled to Sunscape for a quick weekend getaway. We were there around Halloween last year and really thought this hotel was great. They did not disappoint this trip. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and checked in quickly. We stayed in Room 2414 and it was nice. A king bed and a small balcony. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway - but if we had - it was great for just the two of us. The air conditioner worked great and the bathroom had a large shower. We took the snorkel tour offered at the hotel. You board the boat from the dock next door to the hotel. It's a short walk down the beach and you're off. The snorkeling excursion is reasonably priced and well worth the money. The food was good and they keep the drinks coming. This trip we brought our 30 oz Yeti cups with us and they gladly filled those up with whatever we wanted. This was a nice bonus. We didn't have to repeatedly run to the bar to fill up a tiny glass and the beer or drink stayed cold for a long time. We did venture next door to the Secrets resort and noticed their pool had a swim up bar. We tried it out and it was a nice change of pace since the Sunscape pool had several children swimming and no swim up bar. Overall I would again recommend Sunscape. The staff is very friendly and the place is beautiful. It's not a 5 star resort but it's a solid 4. More>

Many previous stays, a much improved property

This was probably my 8th visit to sunscape, as a regency club member. This property has undergone many management changes, the most recent to AM resorts, owner of the secrets ans sunscape brands. My last visit was two years ago, and I have to say that AM resorts is the best thing to happen to this property. The food is greatly improved (da Mario, seaside, el patio, and market cafe restaurants), and, for a special treat, Bordeaux restaurant. They seem to have a higher level of service, thanks to restaurant managers Rolando and Alfonso, and to the many friendly and hardworking employees: Marcos, Antonio, Jose Antonio, Margarito, and Ricardo at Secrets; Cristal and Orlando at Market cafe; Santos at Bordeaux; Ismael the excellent bartender throughout the resort; and the excellent bell staff headed by Juan Carlos. Sandy at Secrets Aura is always a welcoming face and so accommodating ! The resort has had a lot of maintenance work done, and towels and lounges are aplenty. The entertainment was much better than in past years, and you can see that the management is making a great effort to keep guests entertained. More>

We booked our trip through Cheap Caribbean for a 5 day getaway for my birthday, Mother's Day. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff who were all wonderful. We arrived earlier than 3pm check in but were told we could go grab a bite to eat and have some drinks while they were getting our room together. The resort is very charming and pretty quiet. We had stayed near the cruise port last time and this was much nicer. The beaches are beautiful and pools are nice. Our room was a garden view but we were right on the beach near one of the bars. We love to snorkel and the snorkeling in front of the hotel was very impressive. They do have gear to borrow but we brought our own. They also have paddleboards, kayaks and small Hobie Cats to use. A couple of things that we weren't as happy with were our a/c didn't work very well but it was cool enough out that we opened windows. We didn't want to complain because we loved our view and location and didn't want to risk being moved. The breakfast buffets were good but we were not overly impressed with the food at the restaurants. The bar staff was wonderful and took great care of us especially Maximillion and Rico. The staff all around was great but the food was average with the exception of the night we drove into the mercado to get fresh red snapper and shrimp and brought it back to the hotel and had the chef prepare it for us. AMAZING!!! I would highly recommend it. I should say that we are food "snobs" and did venture into the city 3 days we were there for local cuisine (taco truck by the cruise port was delicious!). Overall the hotel was wonderful with outstanding staff! Any complaints we may have had were outweighed by the location, view and attentive staff. We are already planning our next trip back and plan on staying at Sunscape. More>

We had an amazing time at Sunscape. I would definitely recommend it. The staff there, especially one, Max, was great. Very helpful and attentive to our needs. The drinks were great and the food was edible. More>
