We just got back from a week at the Sunscape. The location can not be beat - steps away from the beach and spectacular snorkeling and diving. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food however was just ok - and the choice of restaurants pretty limited. So it depends what you are looking for - definitely worth the price but lacking the little perks such as room service, multiple options for snacks and dining. More>

Everything We Wanted

We were looking for a location on the ocean with a dive site on premises as our primary reason for the trip was scuba diving. Sunscape Sabor had this and more. We enjoyed 5 days of diving with Dive House who took care of our gear each day, taking if off the boat, cleaning and drying it each day for a small $5 a day charge - well worth it for us, especially the morning we had to pack for departure and everything was clean and dry. Diving was also very nice on one of the 4 Dive House boats. The resort was all inclusive with everything, food at 3 restaurants and 2 snack locations, drinks - alcohol and soft drinks, as well as taxes and gratuities. The food was average or above at each location and we mostly ate at Market Cafe which is shared by Secrets next door. More>

we have been to cozumel three other times and stayed at other resorts but found this to be the best yet. customer service at front desk was very friendly.Hotel and room was spotless, food excellent and buffet had many choices to choose from.swimming pool was nice and warm. Bar could be a bit bigger. Beach awesome and of course the scuba diving. Palancar diving was on the hotel property and found them to be very professional and helpfull. Not sure of any electronic services as we go for a nice relaxing holiday and leave all electronics at home. Also towels are always plentiful and u don't need to bring one to exchange one. More>

We had a great time at this resort. We liked the food and all the different options that were available. The drinks were good too. The rooms had a minibar that room service would keep fully stocked with whatever you wanted including bottled water, soda, and beer. Our room was about 30 ft from the beach and close to a bar. We were very happy with its location. It was also cleaned everyday and very spacious for a standard room. Our favorite employee was Enoch who worked in the lobby. This hotel is very lucky to have him. He was so helpful to us. He gave us good advice from which excursions to do to what kind of tequila to buy. If you are planning to stay here I would suggest you look for Enoch in the lobby if you have any questions about Cozumel. I also really liked the woman who worked at the portofino restaurant who cooked the omelets for breakfast. I think her name is Gloria. If she knew the food was going to take some time to cook she would tell us to have a seat and she would bring it out to us. It's a buffet so that kind of service was unexpected. Not to mention she cooks some of the best bacon and eggs I've ever had. Overall, we had a great vacation and would definitely stay at that hotel again. More>

Get Ocean View & you will love it!! Great Place!

Just got back from a week at Sunscape & really enjoyed it!! We're not foodies, but the Seaside & Portofina were fine restaurants!! Didn't care too much for El Patio, although I wanted to like it! It's Mexican. Maybe we're spoiled on our "USA" Mexican food??! You can use the Market Cafe (buffet) which is actually on the beginning of the "Secrets" complex. We actually enjoyed the Portofino (buffet) on Sunscapes property better. You have a small hike to get there, but, the restaurant is very nice, complete with a Wine Bar and a regular bar. We didn't care for the Da Mario's either. We only tried the pizza, but, they didn't have any taste?! Their entertainment is "not" the little canned shows in a crowded and hot theatre!! Thank YOU!! They had different events every evening which for the most part were very entertaining!! They have a few activities going on during the day. Special shout to Anahi!! She always looked for us when something was getting ready to happen. I've heard several people complain about the older rooms. Those are not Ocean View rooms. The O.V. rooms are very updated and comfortable!! Great resort for families, too! They have quite a few activities for the children. The personnel all have awesome personalities and make you feel special! I scoured the internet before we got there to find Airport Transfers. All I could find for 4 people, round trip, was costing anywhere from $180 - $220. We had booked a car to get around that. We bought Collision Insurance thru a very reputable "international" company only to be told upon arrival that it was no good. So we canceled the car. On our way out of the Airport, the very last leg you go through before going outside, we could get transfers one way for $40 for the 4 of us. Once on the resort if you want a taxi to go back to town, it is $15 one way for up to 4 people. 5 (+) people the rate goes up to $30 one way. The ocean in front of the resort is very rocky, so bring water shoes if you have them. We took full advantage of the Hobie Cats & Kayaks. I was kayaking out there and saw 3 different starfish!! Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend the resort to anyone looking for a great value for your money!! More>
