Check in very generic. Orientation really lacking, had to figure out how to maneuver restaurant reservations, main restaurant was buffet and not good at all..food cold. The better place, the pier, we could only get into one night. Many made large reservations which hurt couples getting in. The beach was small but pools.nice.

I have written a detailed letter in regards to my stay but the gist of it is that the resort did not come close in comparison to all inclusive resorts that I have stayed at in the past. On top of that it was also more expensive than the others. Brief list of issues: -first room had mold, leaking ceiling, no iron, no refrigerator -second room deadbolt didn't work, no alarm clock -room refrigerator were not stocked -service was poor at restaurants -took forever to get drinks -beach had brown murky water -not enough beach chairs -adult only pool had kids all over -entertainment was subpar

Overall rating very good. 400-block of rooms (deluxe ocean view} is very good. A problem one afternoon and evening when the music from the Palm Tree pool blasted full force from noon until 1 AM. The complaint was made and hopefully they will be more considerate in the future. Ortherwise a beautifull place to stay and relax.

Wonderful getaway

Good good, good service and great price. This vacation was value for money. The restaurants served up relatively tasty food and drinks. We especially loved the hot chocolate. The coffee shop was an added treat that served up great coffee. Kids club was basic but the kid pool area was definitely fun and the snack bar near to it was on point. The only downside I thought was the beach was not as calm as expected. But all in all great.

Had our wedding there!

The property is set up in a giant U shape with the pool etc. in the middle and the beach at the mouth of the U. We had our suite on the right arm of the U which sits much higher than the beach, so the views were great. The wedding coordinator was very helpful and friendly and was available a lot. I recommend having the wedding in the garden gazebo and having the reception at the beach. They have some amazing places for photos. The food at the Pier was amazing, while the French restaurant was just okay for an extra $35, so I would recommend sticking to their regular restaurants. We didn't do the water sports part, but some of our group did and it's free and fun. I also recommend taking a trip to the market and just walking around on a day when they have their market open. We took a tour to the volcano in a taxi since the boat tour was already sold out (but the car ride allowed us to see a lot more of the country).

Would I return to St James Club - absolutely

First time to this resort, stayed here with my wife and daughter for 10 nights. Nice room with ocean view in 700 block. Very relaxing place with plenty to do. The staff were amazing and restaurants had good choice, we enjoyed Treetop for pizza and pasta and Plum Tree for snacks in afternoon. (Plum tree is by top pool, with three open but covered areas for light snacks. - nice to relax out of sun during afternoon. I recommend chicken wrap with sweet chilli sauce) Maybe because the resort was such a relaxing place, very easy to socialise to meet and chat to others. I enjoyed the morning pilates class and then air conditioned gym.to cool off. A nice touch was the coffee/tea lounge open 0630 - 2300. Again a very pleasant place to chill .Also served light snacks and lovely cakes We met Joy on passing watersports area at the resort and booked his Joys boat trip to the Pitons. Excellent 10/10 and snorkelling was amazing. If you don't your are just missing out on a really great day. We also went to Pidgeon Island National park - about 15 minutes taxi from resort - beaches , snorkelling and charming large timber shack bar restaurant - really enjoyed another day out to see some of St Lucia Would I return to St James Club - absolutely. this is what a relaxing vacation is meant to be.

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and welcomed with an ice cold rum punch, some light snacks and a lovely cold towel.. nice touch! Check in seemed to be somewhat dated with a paper style form to complete and after a lengthy car drive from the south of the island and traveling with a moody 12 year old and excited 8year old this just seemed rather inconvenient but minor. We were then taken to our room by the most helpful and welcoming staff member ever.. KEEVAN! Absolutely lovely man who works extremely hard! He took us and our many bags of luggage (due to the wedding) all the way up to the furthest point.. room 1236. Lovely room with gorgeous views although it was pretty basic... the bath tub was incredible though.. be sure to use it. We had quite a few family members arriving over the next few days to attend our wedding and most had the regular rooms which were always clean and tidy but really could do with some modernising or at least have the minor details repaired. Suites are situated up on the hill and the walk is quite something, definitely not for those who have mobility needs. Although there are buggies that will on most occasions come and collect you (and take you back up before 11pm), you can at times find yourselves ‘forgotten’ about and it would be much easier to make your own way down. There was always a great variety of food throughout the resort with something to please everybody although the rice wasn’t great at all and being in the Caribbean you’d expect this to be cooked to precision. Other than the palms buffet.. all restaurants must be booked in advance and at times this seemed to be a nuisance but completely understandable. The only problem is that they tell you they are fully booked yet when you arrive there are a number of vacant tables! My favourite meal time was the Wednesday night Fete bor la mere beach BBQ! DO NOT MISS THIS! It was remarkable for all! I won’t say too much so it doesn’t spoil it for you. Speaking of entertainment.. this is where I feel the hotel really lets itself down.. there could be soo much more. The day time is fine, most staff will engage with you and get you up.. if you want to be but the night time is somewhat of a struggle. I appreciate that not all guests want noise and carnage but there should be a social area for those who wish to do so (with a roof and walls so the noise doesn’t travel). On reflection, i think this hotel was fabulous for me and my family and all of our wedding guests.. Janelle and Clemus were outstanding and made sure our day went smoothly, I can’t thank them both enough, the same goes for our incredible photographers Casey and Shereen. *KEY POINTS* -Take majority of Dollars but do take a small amount of EC’s- they are quite handy to have - There is an iron and ironing board in all rooms -If you smoke, request an ashtray for your terrace or balcony- there’s a major shortage! -Be patient- you’ll find the staff to be quite laid back, it’s highly frustrating at times -Bath and Beach towels are available throughout -Be sure to tip where/when you can and should -Most of the staff work incredibly hard- others are just miserable (the ice cream man for example- hygienic but barely cracks a smile) -Be prepared to walk up steep hills if you’re staying in a suite and request a lower room to avoid the stairs! -HAVE A GREAT TIME- You’re in Saint Lucia!

Beautiful gem

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights. This resort exceeded our expectations. While it is a smaller resort, we never felt over crowded. The resort has a “beach” area with a lot of free water sports, children’s pool area, family, and the adults only hilltop pool. The beach and hilltop adults pool were our favorite, beautiful views and separate bar. We enjoyed the tasty local dishes and variety of theme nights at the buffet (we opted to eat there many of the nights). There is much care in the upkeep of the grounds and the staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms could use updating but they serve there purpose, great air conditioning and cleanliness. All of the resort is outdoors with just a roof on some areas so taking a break in the AC is essential. There is not a nightclub and night entertainment is okay but they make up for it on Wednesday’s with the amazing beach party. Plan your trip accordingly, you don’t want to miss it, it’s a great night!
