The service is much improved compared to 2 years ago. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. Abel at the Cupcake Café always had a smile on his face. Hostess Eva remembered my name after the 1st day and she was very pleasant and helpful. It was so nice to see Norma again, she is the best waitress ever.
I could not get consistent Wifi in the room, and had to go to the lobby multiple times a day to check emails.

The resort is lovely. I highly recommend upgrading to the Finisterra suites if you require a nicer room. The regular rooms are VERY dated but clean. The regular rooms are closer to the beach though and we had a great view. The reception and waitstaff were very nice and accommodating. The buffet was okay but the other restaurants were great. The Baja Shrimp Tacos are the BEST!!
My only complaint would be the Kids Club. I do not feel that this is a resort for young children. I have a six and two year old. The Kids Club is a redecorated hotel room with a trampoline and wooden playset just outside. The lady that was working there was very unfriendly (she wouldn't even open up the door completely) and informed me that the schedule of kids activities in my room was incorrect when we showed up for the pirate craft. Then she just stared at me rather than letting me know what the activities actually were when I asked. I confirmed that the Club was indeed open and she acted like she didn't want the kids there, so I asked if I could just let them play on the playset with me. She nodded and closed the door. As my two year old was playing in the sand at the foot of the playset I noticed a lot of movement around him and quickly realized that there were a ton of ants. Needless to say, we left. My kids had a great time on the beach and in the pool.
I would definitely stay here again if it were just my husband and I. We will go elsewhere for family vacations until the kids are older.
Our Fabulous Time in Los Cabos and Wonderful Stay at the Sandos Finisterra - THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!

Our hotel was the Sandos Finnisterra which is built in the stone with 3 swimming pools (including a large) kids pool. It had about 5 restaurants ? All inclusive (the food was quite good I might add ? and not all buffets, American, Italian etc) and then a Coffee Shop called the cupcake. Also, we stayed in a Jr. Suite where when we stepped out on our Balcony we could see the view of the pool and the Sea every morning. The Spa was off the chain nice (beautiful inside) and the workout room had a complete view of the Marina as we rode the treadmills. Quite lovely panoramic views I might add as you can see on the pictures (Ocean on one side of hotel and Marina on the other). Another great add was the Whale Watch Bar at the very top made in the stone (hotel was made into a mountain of stone) which is like a Penthouse with a Pool table and couches and TV?s if you just wanted to chill with friends, step outside in quiet time and have drinks and enjoy the Sea view. We loved that because you could see whales coming out the water from there too. The hotel had great food of different kinds and the buffets and the menus (had a choice of buffet or order) by the pool (well we couldn?t stop eating). The ideal setting was having breakfast on the Plaza in the mornings where you could see the entire Marina or Don Domingo at night (lit up Marina). On the Marina are shops, water sports, bars and party life and many yachts and boats. What made it so incredible was that we could leave our very peaceful yet fun hotel and walk directly across the street to the Marina. Location meant everything because if you?re far cabs add up. We literally had the best of both worlds. We had a Michael Jackson Show one night at the hotel, a Retro / Disco Show night (with dancers with Afros lol) and an All White beach party. The dancers were professional and it really felt like I was looking at Michael lol. 24 hour rooms service too.
The hotel was very family friendly ? plenty of kids and teens and adults and you had 3 pool options so it didn?t matter with Music playing (up to date) or you can go over to the Elite Status side (of course you had to pay for that and chill in the bed Cabanna?s and that was quite nice). Nightlife was quite awesome at the Marina, but us old folk in our 40?s found each other and danced the night away at the Stone Club (we started dancing and the rest joined us so we would meet up every night and party to 80?s music). There were like 15 of us lol. We made friends. We even made the hotel Facebook website when they advertised the Beach White Party. If you go to Facebook Sandos Finnisterra website and look on April 8th we are there! LOL. Out of all those people, imagine. Again, the upside to this trip is that we had the perfect place and many locals said it. Our hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Marina, bars at the marina (about 20) and shops and night life and water sports and boats were all there so, when we wanted to venture out it was easy. It?s a very safe place I might add, police are everywhere and at sometimes standing with M-16?s when collecting money or at night time where there were a number of parties (I was like wow!). PEDRO OUR POOL WAITER WAS THE BEST OUT THERE!!
The weather was 85-87 every day with very low humidity and dry heat! Wonderful! There was a rather still feel at night with a slight breeze and one night it got cool and you needed a small wrap? very comfortable.
The only downside is they bug you about timeshare wherever you if you stop and ask a question but a strong NO will do. There are cute kids selling chicklets which is a trademark for Mexico and they do make a killing because they?re so cute (especially the cute little girl (aged 5) who was out at 11:00PM at night tugging my husbands foot as we had drinks at the club ?She made a few dollars on us. I looked for her mom who was selling roses not far away. In terms of We had to call for more wash cloths but that was the only negative. We had the time of our lives. I had more fun here than in both Maui and Dominican Republic seriously. There was so much to do and see and 5 days is the minimum to enjoy this place. It?s a great place for families. Couples or even single people. Cabo is a great place!!
Well there you have it ? hope it all makes sense as I was typing quite fast.

My Husband and I vacationed here in February 2015 and loved it. We bought our time share at the Sandos in Playa del Carmen but this was our first time to the Finisterra. We stayed in the Royal Elite room which was very comfortable. We spent most of our days sitting by the pool in the Royal Elite section. Ismael Valladares was our waiter for most of our stay. (other than his day off) He treated us like we were Royalty. The hospitality that he showed us was more than I expected. Ismael is one of the reasons that we will be returning to the Finisterra.
We also enjoyed the food and felt there was a good variety. The restaurants all had a nice atmosphere.
It was nice to see the General Manager walking around and introducing himself and asking if there was anything that they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. I could not think of anything.
We look forward to coming back soon and bringing Family and Friends to enjoy the same Paradise that we experienced.

This was our first stay in Cabo. We were able to get a 1 bdrm on the 3rd floor(originally scheduled on first floor). It was spacious and very comfortable. Double wide outside porch. Maintenance issues were resolved immediately - shower head not working properly/br phone did not work and full coffee maker instructions - by maintenance. Ocean view was spectacular. We got to see whales while sipping morning coffee, or afternoon cocktails. Views of the marina from Don Diego buffet were gorgeous. Staff at ALL restaurants were very friendly and courteous. Service was very good. Carmen at Don Diego and Italian restaurant is very nice. Service at swim up bar was slow, but overall service was top notch! Adult pool was busy and noisy, but that was ok with us. We would definitely go back to this property.
