We stayed at the Finisterra May 16-2, 2015. The room was nice and comfortable but could use a little updating. Our room was located on the 3rd floor facing south overlooking the beautiful pool(s). The balcony was nice and had plenty of room to relax on. The ac worked very well and kept the room nice and cool. I like that our room had a mini fridge stocked with beer and sodas. There was a 5 gallon bottle of purified water with dispenser for hot/cold water options. Also the room had a safe which came in handy. The food at the restaurants was good especially the Italian restaurant. The hotel is in close proximity to the marina. All in all we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and would stay here again. The only complaint I have is that during the check-in process they misled us into thinking that we were dealing with a "Hotel specialist" and as it turned out the specialist is really a timeshare sales person. Buyer beware
Great Location and Excellent Service!

We just returned from a fantastic stay (May 14-23) with my wife, two kids (4 and 8) and my in laws. The location of this resort is unbelievable with amazing views and walking distance to the marina and shopping. This trip was to relax and celebrate my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary and my father-in-laws 60th birthday. First, I'd like to start by saying the staff was top notch and they had a desire to make your stay great! We have to thank the amazing event staff with a special thanks to Azizi for making such an amazing connection with our kids (my 8 year old daughter was so sad to leave her) and her focus on keeping the fun activities going all day long at the pool. Additionally, to Emi for making the kids club an amazing experience for our kids - they are still talking about their face painting time and how sweet she was. Ramon - the event director - had fun activities on the beach at night and really did a great job making them very enjoyable. The food and drink staff - Fernando, Enrique and Norma were amazing by the pool and ALWAYS had an ice cold, refreshing drink in our hands. They worked so hard all day long to make this happen with a smile every day! My wife, kids and I stayed in the junior suite and had plenty of room with an amazing views of the pools and ocean. Now for the small suggestion part of my review.
1) The pushy time share "90 minute sales presentation" turned out to be over 2 hours with multiple "managers" approaching us and not stopping until we had to stand up and refuse for the fourth time. Every time we said no, another piece of paper came out to confuse us more - just ask for the bottom line. Respecting our time would have been helpful. We heard the pitch to get discounts on activities, but Ramon was misleading and dishonest about what discounts we ultimately received. We were disappointed in his service.
2) Having another option for breakfast would be great - off the menu and not buffet (maybe by the pool in the large dining area). Don Diego was great and service was nice, but after 9 days it was very hard to eat there the last time.
3) Having an option for dining on the beach to create a more romantic option for couples staying there - perhaps in the wedding area when not in use.
Other than that, this place is great and we would come back. The three pools (two are kid friendly) are incredible and the proximity to the marina, shopping and other dining options are unbeatable in my opinion.
Thank you Sandos for making our trip great so we could celebrate my in laws 40th wedding anniversary and my father-in-laws 60th!!!

This was our first trip to Cabo and we will definitely return!! The resort is conveniently located and within walking distance to the marina and shopping/dining/nightlife. The views of both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean were simply breathtaking. The resort was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and attentive (especially Ismael V.), the food was "okay", and the suites were ample in size/comfort. I highly recommend this resort. :-)
Amazing stay, even more amazing wedding!!

We stayed at the Sandos Finisterra for the first time May 7-17. We chose this property to host 37 friends and family for our wedding May 12. We could not have chosen a better property. All aspects of this place were incredible. From the restaurants, the food, the staff and the location were all next to none. A big shout out to Audi our bellman as he was incredible. Helping our group with bags, recommendations of things to do, pushing a wheelchair after a few cocktails in the marina, and always going out of his way to say hello and making sure our trip was going well whenever he saw us. Also to Azizi from the entertainment staff who always went out of her way to make sure our group, specifically the 7 kids we had there under 5 years old, were having a great time. She would always seek us out for contests/games by the pool and on the beach, let the kids spray her with water guns and knew how to put a smile on your face.
The major event for us was our wedding May 12. This could not have been accomplished without the unbelievable work and support of Itzel - the wedding coordinator. Being in Canada and having not been to the resort previously, she was able to answer the hundreds of questions/emails we had and did so quickly and efficiently. This was a huge relief and kept any nerves of a destination wedding at bay. Upon arrival, we had MANY items of decorations that she was able to take off our hands and store until the wedding, and along with the incredible flower arrangements, was able to decorate the ceremony/cocktail hour and reception better than we could have imagined. Every aspect of the wedding was AMAZING and my bride and I both agreed there would not have been a single aspect we would have changed! Along with our guests, we are all still talking about how great this wedding was - the meal/cake, the atmosphere, the service...all great. Thank you Itzel and your team for all your hard work, working to accommodate all the extras we asked for including the most amazing flower arrangement for the bride on the wedding day...we will forever be grateful.
Finally we wanted to give praise to our amazing photographers - Crizul and Carlos from CC Photo Los Cabos. This company is located at the resort and with the recommendation of Itzel, we secured these 2 for our wedding. We could not have made a better decision. They were the most fun, energetic and professional photographers we have met. We cannot wait to see all of our photos, as we know they will be amazing (including the wedding party beach beer pong pics!!) Thank you for everything!
For anyone looking at a hotel where you are treated like gold from the minute you arrive, until the minute you leave..this is the property. We cannot wait to return to Sandos and know many of our friends/family when returning to Cabo will definitely be staying at Sandos Finisterra!

Tomorrow we move next door to the Playa Grande, so we wanted to write while the Sandos was fresh in our minds. We are extremely happy with our junior suite (room 1311) which faces south to fabulous Solmar Beach. We are also extremely happy that we chose to stay here on the Pacific side of Cabo instead of on Medanos Beach. It doesn't matter that we can't actually swim in the ocean on this side -- the beach is utterly amazing and the surf hypnotic. (Besides, it's easy to get to swimming beaches whenever we want to, and the pools here are perfect.)
The staff has been wonderful -- and we particularly want to commend the lovely smiling Carmen, hostess at the Don Diego restaurant, for going the extra mile by remembering our names every single time and making us feel as if she genuinely was thrilled to see us. Also Alberto, the maître d' at the Agave Steak House and Tortuga Beach. Also Sonia, our maid, whose towel origami was a work of art. Sarah, our concierge, was extremely helpful and kind. The food here has also been great (good thing, as the mandatory all-inclusive fees for RCI members/guests is not cheap). We drink very little, so it would have been fab to have had a selection of dinner wines to choose from, as my wife is not really a Merlot fan. Also, the coffee wasn't great, and wasn't always hot enough -- but these are relatively small issues.
All being said, the only big drawback was the $99USD fee per person for the mandatory AI (when we are not big drinkers or eaters). A ceiling fan would have been a nice asset, as we preferred to leave the balciny door open rather than turn on the AC. We would not have been as happy if we'd had to remain in the studio we had the first night (1319) as that room had two double beds instead of a king. However, that room had a microwave, a stove and a larger fridge, so I guess the better bed was a trade-off. (My wife would have liked the stove in order to brew her own strong, hot coffee every morning.)
Anyway, thank you Carmen, Alberto, Sonia, Sarah and everyone else for a great stay. And we appreciated the free wifi.
