The worst all-inclusive resort I have ever visited...

Arrived at the resort on day 1 and it all seemed very inviting. Right until we attempted to check in... They slapped a bracelet on each of us and told us we had to sign a piece of paper confirming that we would pay $100 if the bracelet fell off. That same piece of paper said we would pay them $20 per missing towel, if we couldn't provide an accurate chain of custody for the towels... Then we were accosted by a timeshare salesman (resort endorsed and certified). Working only for Sandos and trying to sell their version of the time-share, which we had no interest in. After telling this super-aggressive jerk "NO" several times, I finally used profanity when telling him that I was not interested in his pyramid scheme. After twenty minutes just trying to shake that guy, they showed us to our room... And the room was NOT what it was advertised as. I paid a ridiculous amount more for a suite on the cliffs. Sandos website says of these rooms that "These modern suites are located in the original historic section of Sandos Finisterra resort, boasting clifftop views over the bay and the marina". Our view was of the building in front of us. Not even a hint of Ocean in view. We also had booked a king room with a whirlpool tub, but were assigned a room with no whirlpool tub, no ocean or marina view, and two single beds. The wife was irritated enough to argue us into a king room with a whirlpool tub, but the view was still the building in front of us. We paid an extra 30% to be able to view the cheap rooms in front of us (which DID have an ocean view). It rained most of the days we visited. Obviously, I can't hold the resort responsible for that, but, I can ask why there were no plans in place for if it happened to rain. The only attempt the resort made to make up for the cancelled 'sunny day' activities was to set up a pin-pong table in the main entrance of the hotel. That seems like a pretty sparse 'plan B'. The resort boasts a 'Free Mini Bar'. Four days after checking in, the wife called the front desk to ask if they could bring some more sodas. That was the one -and only- time that little mini-fridge was stocked in seven days. Room service is also 100% free at this resort. I called for room service at 5:30pm on Tuesday... When the food had not arrived more than two hours later, I called again. They said it had accidentally been delivered to the wrong room but that they would get it to me right away. When I called two more hours later, they said that they had to cancel my order because it had started to rain (and they can't deliver room service if is raining). Of course, no one called me to tell me that it wasn't on the way and I should find a different plan. 'Cause, I mean, you know how you always have that 'in-case-they-don't-deliver-in-the-next-four-hours' plan right at your fingertips every time you visit a foreign country. The guest elevator was down for two days (because it rained?) while the service staff was up and running. I think that was Tuesday and Wednesday. The next time the guest elevator went down (another full day it was down) we just started using the service elevator. Why can they keep the service elevator going when they can't keep the guest elevator up? The only reason this resort gets that second star is that the wait staff at the pool bar was simply amazing. Gabriel, Jesus, Carlos, and team were on point with drink delivery. Literally every other metric for this resort is a zero.

We've stayed at Sandos multiple times and are never disappointed. Location is great! Stunning ocean views and 5 minute walk to downtown. Isabella at the Elite pool bar was fantastic! Very friendly and really takes pride in making good drinks! My wife has a gluten sensitivity and there are only a few brands of Vodka she can drink that don't break her out in hives. Tito's Handmade is one of those brands. They do not carry this brand at the resort so Isabella offered to go out on her PERSONAL time to get a bottle. The next day when we went to the pool she fulfilled her promise and had a bottle specially for my wife! It was completely unnecessary for her to do that but greatly appreciated!! Exceptional service! We are already planning our next trip to Sandos!

First the good. The location is just amazing. We loved the beach and the pools. It was not crowded so the pools were extra nice and relaxing. The service at the pool was top notch. The staff just about from A-Z were very attentive and kind. There is always that one person but maybe they had a bad day. I'm not sure if you can book this without an all inclusive package but I think the all inclusive is such a great deal get it if not just for the drinks, definitely not for the food. You are adjacent to town and the marina and there are a lot of great restaurants all within walking distance The bad: The food was terrible and lacked choices but who really cared it would have been just more of terrible food. I hate writing this but it is the truth. There were a few things that were okay but overall the food was tasteless and some things were disgusting. I hope with this review I get someone's attention who makes decisions at the hotel because if they could step up the food (and they really have to step it up as it was that bad) this is a 4.5 - 5 star resort. The food was so bad I would give this 3 stars but the location and the staff were so good I give it 4 stars. I would love to go back but I would not unless the food changed or I did not get all inclusive. I could go on and on about what needs to change regarding the food but I have to believe there is someone there at the resort who knows this and wants to make this change so every experience is amazing. I feel sorry for the waiters as they are so great but they have to serve this terrible food!!! The cooks and chefs probably are good to but you need to give them quality ingredients. Give them a chance to succeed.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Sandos Finisterra to celebrate his 60th birthday and we could not have been more pleased by the sweet, friendly staff, amazing views, great meals and all the daily and nightly entertainment. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and a warm, genuine smile by Jose, who explained to us all the different areas of the resort.... where to find the restaurants, the three pools and what to expect throughout our stay. We booked a Casita Deluxe room with a spectacular view of the marina. We spent most of the days at the adults-only pool where Joel worked his tail off serving drinks and lunch time meals/snacks to all the guests and always with a big smile! We were never without a drink in our hand because of his great, prompt service. I also want to give a shout out and thank Rafael Jr. for providing us with clean, fluffy pool towels daily ... He's very sweet and pleasant and always has a smile on his face. We enjoyed all of our meals but the best part of the day was visiting the Cupcake Cafe for our morning specialty coffees and yummy treats. Abel greeted us every morning with a big smile. He makes great cappuccinos and cafe mochas. He's a real gem! Afterwards, we enjoyed our breakfast at Don Diego, especially the omelets! The entertainment staff of Sinder, Valeria, Mauricio and Edgar kept things lively poolside with water aerobics, dance lessons and crazy pool games. We enjoyed participating with them as they were so much fun to be around! We loved everything that Sandos Finisterra had to offer... the restaurants, the pools, the activities day into night.. but most of all the amazing STAFF! Thanks to all of you for the wonderful memories that we will cherish always!

I recently travelled to Sandy’s Finisterra, Los Cabos with a friend for a relaxing September getaway. This resort was recommended by a travel agent friend of mine so we booked. So happy we did! The resort is beautiful. Built practically into the side of beautiful cliffs on one side with a gorgeous beach on the other. The main downside is that the beach is not swimable due to strong riptides and huge waves but incredible for walks with many stunning views. The pools are all stunning with plenty of lounge chairs so we never had a problem getting chairs. The property is extremely well maintained and so clean! The a la carte restaurants are wonderful with excellent and well presented food. We never had a meal we didn’t thoroughly enjoy. The buffet is fine for breakfast and lunch but small in comparison to other all inclusive I have been to. But the excellent quality of the meals in the a la carte restaurants and not needing to reserve makes up for it! The staff are all very friendly and exceptionally helpful! Estella in guest services greets us upon arrival and was so helpful getting us acquainted with the resort and all it had to offer. Oscar, head concierge went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Rafael Jr, the towel boy was our best morning smile! Loved him! Elizabeth and Karen, excellent hostesses and warm, genuine people! Our regular waiters, Hilario, Gustavo and Enrique always took such great care of us! And of course, Joe and Jose were always right there to make sure we had everything we needed by the pool! I loved the spa and had a fantastic massage there! The whole experience at the spa was wonderful. Geronimo the receptionist, Araceli the hostess and My masseuse, Yerenia made me feel like a queen for the day! Beautiful spa! Overall, I highly recommend this resort! We were there in a quiet season so it was not fully booked therefore peaceful and quiet but even full, I feel it would make for a relaxing vacation!
