Beautiful Resort and An incredible week... a few areas to improve.

We had an absolute blast at this resort. We skipped the "tour" that they try desperately to make you go on - we had been warned it turns into a 4 hour timeshare sales pitch. Almost all of the staff were extremely friendly. The beds were absolutely amazing. Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The atmosphere at the restaurants is really nice. On cool evenings they even bring your blankets to help keep you warm. The food is good. Not a highlight of the trip, but definitely enjoyable. The room service was suprisingly goood and quick, even for midnight burgers and nachos. The location of this resort is perfect. You can take a 20 minute hike on the beach and over some rocks to Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach which were practically secluded with no one around the days we were on them. It is a short walk from the marina and all of the fun spots downtown. We also walked over to the public beach next to the Marina which was a nice beach that is swimmable. The snorkeling is pretty good there as well. I high recommend hiking Mount Solmar if you are capable. It is also walking distance from the hotel and the hike is breathtaking. The coffee at the cupcake shop is very good. At the restaurants by the beach it is also very good. At the buffet, it is terrible. The buffet was a beautiful setting but seemed to lack in variety of food. It is the only option fro breakfast if you arent an elite member. The pool bar gets pretty crowded in the afternoon and takes awhile to get drinks. I wouldn't say the bartenders are unfriendly, but they seemed stressed or overly busy trying to keep up. Around 5 the pool bar closes and it becomes very difficult to get a drink anywhere. You basically need to dress up and go to one of the nice bars because no where else will serve you in swim shorts and a tank top after 5. This was a little frustrating because this is usually when I starting drinking in the evening. The rooms are pretty noisy. All morning your can hear the cleaning people sliding the furniture around on the floor above you and at night you often hear the doors of peoples rooms slamming shut as the wind catches them and sucks them closed. Sounds life a bomb going off. Quite startling. There is no liquor in the rooms but they keep the fridge stocked with 6 beers and 8 sodas, replenished everyday as needed. We noticed some items go "missing" from our room. At first we thought it was a coincidence and they would show up when we packed to go home but they never did. Nothing big, just several small items. A lighter i left on the dresser. a pack of bobby pins on the sink. My wife's eye liner from her make up bag... and a couple other small items like that. Overall we loved this place. I would definitely stay here again when we return to Cabo, but I hope they are able to improve on a few items.

Great time

Being a first timer at Sandos Finisterra (5/8/17 - 5/15/17) it was difficult to take in all the beaut of the resort. You have a resort with a great layout, location, and beautiful views. You sometimes look at pictures of hotels on line and know that the photos are touched up. With the Sandos Finisterra this in not the case, in fact the online pictures do not do it justice, All of the staff (everyone) was friendly and always greeted you with a warm smile and a "hello". The resort is very well maintained and once you start looking at the grounds, you soon realize just how much detail has gone into each and very inch of the resort area. It's impossible for me to put in words just how much the I enjoyed my visit and stay at the Sandos Finisterra Resort. The generosity and kindness was over the top. Looking forward to my visit next year. Again thank you. Portland Charlie

Where does one begin to review such an excellent experience? We have travelled extensively in Mexico and the Caribbean, this was by far the BEST we have ever been too. Before I get into details of our trip I would like to take the time to express our gratitude for some of the excellent employees ( although none were bad we got to know some of these employees a bit better). First Nikki you work tirelessly, we saw you everywhere and even had the pleasure to meet and chat at lunchtime. You are so charming and you can tell you are there to please your guests, thank you so much. Flora our darling cleaning lady was attentive to detail. Too many times I think the cleaning staff rather cleaning the rooms or the pools are forgotten. They work so hard. Flora always had a pretty smile and worked hard to please us. Thank you for all you do!! Jorge was the best waiter and really raved about his job. He loved his work and it showed. Even when unfortunately we could not get seats in his section he would go out of his way to say hello and have a laugh with my husband who loves the banter!! Jose my friend by the pool and sometimes in the restaurant, I hope they know how hard you work. You are truly a charmer, always remembering us tucked around in our special spot checking in on us even to see if we needed water or food. I loved your smile as well, your a hard working young man who should be recognized for his work. I want to mention just a few more names so indulge me, believe me you will want to remember their names. Juan, Roma,Melissa and I believe her name is spelled Kyla's? You all deserve a round of applause and praise. Now for the details. The resort is stunning, well kept and clean as a whistle. The pools are cleaned daily I would wake up early in the morning finding the staff working hard to make the pools sparkle. The restrooms were plentiful and very clean once again kudos to the cleaning staff. We were on the third floor our view of the pool and ocean were to die for I will always remember the sound of those waves roaring on shore. The rooms maybe in some people's view "dated" but if you are staying in your room inspecting it for mud in the creavices you need to get out more. The beds were the best I have ever slept in on vacation same as the pillows. No complaints from us we slept like babies. The refrigerator was well stocked and I love the maranda orange pop!!! I'm a big fan! We mostly ate at the buffet just because we like a variety which there always was. Excellent food and the omelet man is excellent at his job. Yummy!! We did try the Italian restaurant it was good and it was a pretty presentation. Cupcakes!!! Who has a cupcake and coffee shop as cute as this place??? No one I say. The staff are so fun and courteous always looking to please. A wide variety of cupcakes to choose from as well. We unfortunately did not make it to any of the shows I'm sure there were good as I have seen the Michael Jackson show many times always good. We attended the white people party on the beach. It is every Wednesday night I believe. Don't miss this it is stunning and fun to meet new people. It is right on the beach and again those waves, oh I will hopefully never forget thoat sound, we autually got a little mist from the waves every now and then to cool us off. Nikki does a great job of introducing her staff she takes care of business!!! The show was great and beautiful, one of the highlights of the trip. Stunning beach for pictures no swimming but who cares you have three lovely pools to choose from. If you want a swimable beach there are plenty near by. I'll bet the snorkeling is great because we saw beautiful fish at the marina. The town and marina area safe and sound. Well maintained and so much to do. We took a rikeshaw ride and had a great time. Our bike driver took us to the back side of town and showed us many things usually left unseen. So fun another highlight! Overall We loved this resort, I wish you were closer, you made our stay so enjoyable and fun we will defiantly come back hopefully very soon. Nikki If I could offer any suggestions on your resort and I only mention these things to make it a better experience. Although no fault of your own some of the guests do get quite drunk and loud and really quite disturbing at times. We had at least 3 incidents of people fighting after drinking too much. I agree with the bars closing down early if they want to drink to that extent go off resort and drink away. The hallways and the doors are quite loud again when the revelers return from the night out. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity during our stay!!!! Lori and Bob

Great stay, May 7- 14

We had a great stay at Sandos Finesterra May 7-14. It is a beautiful hotel Right on the spit where the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez meet. Though we are Royal Elite members, we booked a bit late so none of the R.E. rooms were available, and they put us in a regular "deluxe" room. That said, even though the room itself was average, we had an amazing balcony with views over the marina, close to the main restaurants and coffee shop. We had a great view of the sun rising from the ocean, and the fishing boats heading out every morning. Our room was always clean, fridge stocked, and bed comfortable. The service was great, and the staff very friendly and helpful; just what I would expect from a Sandos property. Though we spent time at every pool, our favourite was the R.E.pool. Small and secluded, with great views over the marina, and the bartender, Ismail treated us like gold. He makes the best margaritas, real shaken ones, not out of a machine. The food at all the restaurants was very good, buffet, or a la carte. Since it is not a huge hotel, I think the kitchen staff was able to provide more quality and not just pump out the meals. I am an early riser, and waking to the sound of the seals barking in the harbour was a treat. The hotel is an easy walk to all the shopping and restaurants around the marina (though there is one steep hill to go up at the end of your day!) and close to all the amenities of the town.
