Go if all you want to do is sit around and eat mediocre food.

Food was mediocre at best. The "reservation only" restaurants share the same kitchen and provide the same food as the buffet. Perhaps it's a bit warmer, but still the same food. Not an impressive hotel experience.

The hotel rooms smelled of mold. hotel rooms smelled of mold. was moved 3 times before the room was acceptable. 6/8 people in our group returned with travelers diarrhea. we did not really have any entertainment. the hotel was boring we entertain ourselves. I called my travel agent and she said just complain with no follow up to see if we were ok. highly disappointed in her response.

Small resort with nice layout geared for families. Although I don't think they should have chugging contests at the main pool with young kids watching. Food was not great. Saw 3 dead roaches in our hallway and they laid there for two days until my husband brought them to the attention of an employee. Our room had an adjoining door to the adjacent room and there was absolutely no privacy. Could hear their whole conversation and could see the lights from their room under the door. Totally unacceptable! We were delayed one day because of a missed flight connection because of mechanical issues and Apple representative not helpful or interested at all, just asked if we were staying an extra day which we could not. We need to be compensated for missed day but I doubt we will.

Let me start by saying that the staff was the best very attentive to every need. The resort itself is very nice, extremely clean it's age shows a little here and there but over all nice. A great place for families with small to teenage children. My problem was if you wanted to eat at one of the only 2 specialty restaurants you were served the same quality of food as the buffet unless you payed for the gourmet plates at 25 to 35 dollars a head. I was then invited to a breakfast by one of the staff and I soon realized it was an invitation to be pitched on buying a timeshare there, I did not partake in the breakfast invite but i talked to others that did and heard that once they said no thanks they were treated rude. Well thanks but no thanks on a return visit it's just not for me

We really enjoyed our stay at the resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was not the best, but good enough. There was a lot of options which helped in finding something to eat. There were times that the main areas of the hotel were not as clean as they could have been. Small details like the floor under the tables chairs in the banquet area were not swept by the next morning. The front lobby sitting areas had sand on the tables, etc...Nothing horrible, just not a polished look. The bedrooms and pool area were really well maintained and the staff was constantly coming around to clear cups and dishes. No problem getting chairs by the pool when we wanted and it looked like there were always a few chairs available on the beach area. It was a great experience for our first time doing "foreign" travel.

We see this hotel - Royal Solaris- as a bad luck find. The room we were assigned was not what the description was when we made the reservation. Out of our party of 5, three got sick from the food/water. Management did not care when we mentioned it, instead they suggested a squirt with lemon. Swimming pools are not cleaned on a daily basis. Wifi for "Apple Vacations reservations is extra." We visit Mexico every year and this was the worst experience we have had. Location is good. Don't spend your money on the Royal Solaris all-inclusive package.

I do not recommend this hotel. At check -in they will tell you the keycard machine does not work only to hand to off to the time share folk(who are friendly). Had to upgrade to a partial ocean view room as Room 111 had a view of a wall and sewer caps. Front desk management does not seem like he wants to be bothered - poor customer service. The woman at guest relations is very kind and helpful. Drinks are made with low grade alcohol. Two bartenders at the beach area bar and servive is slow due to number of people waiting for drinks. Lobby bar would only serve us shots and be when ordered at 12:20am (closes at 1:00am) Food(buffet) is low grade as well except for Fiesta night. Go eat in the downtown San Jose area. The Italian restaurant is so not Italian. The pizza restaurant - not very good. Went through 17 different people to get bags to play bags and 5 of 8 were useable - one was a sock. No one from activities came around until day 6 to invite us to play. They may have music poolside for an hour if you listen carefully - very low energy. Room size and cleanliness is good. Matresses are hard. Thankfully the weather was perfect!

This hotel is way over rated by Apple Vacation should be a 2 apple. It is not a true all inclusive property, it is half time share which Apple customers are excluded form. You should declare this this on your disclosures. I wound not have gone to this property if I had known. I have used Apple Vacations many times this is way below what I paid for. Please call me we need to talk about this. If I don't hear from you we are finished doing business. John

Miss leading All Inclusive

We always give extra bonus tips so it wasn't a problem for us. However if it was someone's first all inclusive trip I won't recommend this resort. They would be confused with all the tip cups sitting out... I prefer to feel like I have a choice on a bonus tip and here it was expected! We would go back to this resort for the price and recommend to friends who are like us who are prepared to give extra tips. If this was my first all inclusive and I was told my tips are included in price of my trip I'd feel cheated. We stayed at Riu in Costa Rica and they'd take an bonus tip but did not put cups out everyplace for extra tips... The only all inclusive I stayed at that didn't allow extra tipping of any kind. Staff would lose their jobs if they took extra tips and they even had pins on that said please do not tip us... Over all price of this trip was worth the money and we would do it again.

5 star guest service!

As stated a few times before do not believe everything you read. Heres an honest review from a frequent traveler. This resort is listed as a 3.5 star hotel and for being 3.5 id rate it a 5! We did arrive later in the evening on 4.11 and asked to see if we could upgrade from what we had booked (garden view) to an ocean view. We were allowed to see the room options we actually loved the room we originally booked and choose to stay with that. Last spring we choose to stay at hacienda encantada closer to cabo san lucas but this this being a family vacation i searched and came across this awesome resort with the most incredible kids area. There are plenty of options to eat in my opinion my son loved the kids train food area (its does need to be stocked more frequently tho) not a problem as my son would eat from the regular buffet food in cafe solaris. One waiter stood out although everyone works hard Enrique made sure our drinks were filled and was always so kind. He saw us our last day sitting indoor and asked why we didn't sit with him outdoors and i let him know they just sat us in here and he let me know that i could always request outdoor seating. Edwardo at the pool always kept our drinks coming and Guiellermo on the beach was just great always making sure my son had his strawberry daiquiris. Lucy was a sweet lady making the best eggs for everyone! Alex with the members/vacation club was so friendly and kind to us and our son always checking in with us to see how we were enjoying our stay. We did go to their 90 min presentation (we were there for almost 5 hrs) asking questions seeing if we would invest. We decided not to and pass and you could tell Ignacio was frustrated after spending all the time with us. Alex kept our son entertained the entire time. And was still so friendly even after we decided to pass on their membership. The shows were great. My 3.5 was in heaven with the disney show! and i loved the mexican show! Be careful in the ocean my fiancé ran into the ocean with another guest to pull a young local boy who couldn't swim back in. Super scary! I did allow my 3.5 year old to put him feet in the ocean and he'd go in knees deep but like stated i wouldn't swim. Our 7 day trip was incredible and very relaxing we did go to cabo san lucas to go the the sunset tour the the arch and that was awesome even tho my son and i got horribly sea sick. Seeing the whales was worth it!!!! Half way home i realized i had forgotten our pictures from our tour in our room, i reached out the the hotel and they are sending them out to us to which i am forever grateful! Overall great stay and Royal Solaris Los Cabos, we hope to be back someday! ***one last thing the entrainment staff is incredible i don't know how they do it, shows, games, aerobics, volleyball ect. i also brought a pool floaty for my son and asked if they could fill it up, well there machine was broke but blew it up for us anyways. wow!!!*** ***Tip you can tell they appreciate it***

Never again

At check-in there was not cold drink offered which all other resorts we have been to would have. A "Conciege" approached us to give us an overview of the resort. At first our thoughts were "time share" but the reason they want to talk to you is that they want you to sign up for the "Club Solaris" and pay up for so called extras. Why should special theme nights be extra? i.e. $55 USD pp. The young lady handed over a sheet with coupons to use for all these extras. What happened to the term "ALL INCLUSIVE"? The lobby bar was not well stocked at all and the bar tenders don't pick up on english very well either, what is it they don't understand straight up and it shows up on ice? Tables in the lobby lounge were not cleaned, day after day, you could clearly see where the glasses had been. The windows facing the pool were "FILTHY" . There is no where on their web site or brochures that mentions all the stairs & ramps to access certain public areas even in the buffet area. My spouse has arthritic knees and it all made it difficult. Have you tried to get into the theater? The buffet food is practically the same day in day out. The French night at the buffet was the best we exprienced. As for the specialty restaurants I would recommend the Mexican, it was very good. The omelet station was the best for breakfast, you need a lot of time at the toaster and it comes out with warm bread. There is nothing worse than instant coffee...that is all they serve for decaf. The only person that we would recognize is the nice lady cleaning our room, she was so pleasant, always greeted us with a smile & made sure everything was in good order. There were too many "omissions" at this resort & all in all will not return.

My family have been going to Solaris for over 7 years and have had a great experience every time. Unfortunately due to family circumstances, we will be unable to go again more than 1 or 2 times and are looking to pass on our timeshare at a great price. If you are interested, please go to sellmytimesharenow and look up Club Solaris. It is an awesome package that we hate to part with...this is still a genuine review of the resort after 5 visits. Friendly staff, great service, fun kids club, good entertainment at a very reasonable price. San Jose is an easy walk away too! The food is not 5 star but we have enjoyed it even up to 10+ day visits. Lucy rocks the omelettes after a morning surf btw. Lots of poolside entertainment and there is an adult pool for those who would like to have a chill time away from the active family pool.

Stayed at Royal Solaris Los Cabos last week of July - the first week of August of last year. We booked a single room with a roll away bed and a crib for our daughter who was 1 at the time. Check in took longer then expected and with a tired 1 year old seemed to be a hassle. Upon check in we were told they did not have any cribs available. My husband and I were a little irritated as we had requested one months before when we completed our reservation. Baby ended up sleeping with us the first night and after we requested a crib for the second day they provided us one that evening. The buffet style restaurant food was decent. I honestly wasn't expecting much since it was a buffet. Breakfast was by far the best meal. The warm conchas and omelets made to order are phenomenal. The food at the outdoor lunch restaurant was the best. Great service. We did eat at the formal sit down restaurant one night and were highly disappointed. Our son had chicken nuggets and they were green on the inside and he refused to eat them. Our food was cold and did not look appetizing. For as hard as it was to get a reservation there (you have to call in the morning and wait on hold for a very long time) I really expected more. The kiddie pool in the back was disgusting. I had looked forward to my kids having some fun there but took them to the adults pool upon seeing its condition. I wish they would keep that cleaner. Customer service was hit and miss. We did have an amazing waiter who would go above and beyond. From the moment we met him we always requested to be seated in his section. His name was Miguel! Shout out to him. Anyway if you are on a budget this is a great place to stay but it doesn't really leave an impression.
