Vacation overall

The rating apple gives each place is no guild line to choosing your vacation. This resort was rated a 4 golden apple when we booked. We have stayed in resort before so kinda had an ideal what we were paying for. The food has dropped in quality since are last visit. We stayed at a new resort 6 months ago it was given the same Apple rating as this resort ... So if your going to rate for the consumer please be honest. we will no longer trust the "apple rating" when choosing vacation location .. everything else was great transportation to and from airport great. Apple representative at resort was there very little plus thought is was funny we took a time share tour ..... that makes you think and when we checked in they offered to send us down the road to stay for a promotion at there other location.. We of course choice too stay with our original booked location.

Bar tenders were friendly and quick, pool and beach were beautiful, and we were upgraded to a master suit with a balcony which made the trip even better. As for negatives, the food was not very good and it was always cold, the front desk staff were very limited in english so there was a lot of miscommunication, and the maids failed to come to our room a few times

Staff at the hotel were great. We got upgraded to a larger room with a balcony at check-in which was great. We traveled also with an infant and hotel staff was great accommodating our needs including providing a crib in our room. The hotel was extremely clean (albeit a little old). The beach and pool areas were great as well. My only comments for improvement are that: - Some areas are a little hard to traverse with a stroller (steep or non-existent ramps). Staff was great helping us carry the stroller up or down steps as needed. - I wish suite options were available at the hotel. My mother came on the trip to help with our 4 month old son. We all stayed in the same room which was comfortable; however, a hotel sized room can start to feel small after a few days. We were definitely grateful for the upgraded sized room - Food overall was good, even great on some occasions; however, some days were lacking. Having a different cuisine every night provided great variety but quality of the food could be more consistent.

Great Stay!

Really nice stay at this hotel overall. At check-in, we were duped into believing that our room wasn't ready, and were assigned a woman who was supposed to show us around, but in fact was relentless in trying to sell us a membership. I finally demanded our room keys, and she wouldn't let up. We continued to see her in the lobby during our stay where she kept pitching us. Otherwise, the pool is really great, but claim your chairs by 9am or else you'll be straight in the sun! Beach was beautiful. Food overall really nice as was the service. We'll definitely go back next year!!

Good stay overall
Jun 14 2017
The only thing I did not like was that when we arrived we were given a single bed and paid for a double. When we went down to ask for a different room they were nice and gave us another room. The problem lies here. The room that was assigned to us was not vacant and turns out we walked in the room while someone was sleeping. We immediatly went back down to the receptionist and let the room was not vacant. So, after a long day of flights we were worn out and just want somewhere to lay our things, but instead of staff just finding us another room they were trying to find out why there was someone in the room they gave us. We were exhausted and would have appreciated if they would have found us a room first then they could have figured the problem on their end afterwards. There was no need to have us standing there for another 20 min, hungry and tired. Also, the beds were real hard and flat and the rooms have no ventilation which makes the humidity worse. Other than that everything else was great. Staff is amazing!

We took our daughter on our second time visiting Royal Solaris and it was wonderful again! The hotel staff is so attentive and friendly! They give the sense that they truly appreciate your visit! Our favorites were the pool side bartenders Robert, Everardo, and Armando. Our favorite pool entertainment people were Martina, Mathias, Alexander, and Eugenia. The food is pretty good, we especially loved the pizzas and sushi! The only thing that could be improved is the comfort of the beds. They are somewhat hard. All else is wonderful!

Quick stay at Solaris
Apr 17 2017
Our stay at the Solaris was 3 nights 4 days. We upgraded to an ocean view balcony with jacuzzi and it was THE best decision I have made. Beautiful views!! The food was ok. NOthing spectacular but also very eatable - we didnt miss a meal. Bottom line, we have had better. Usually when we do these all inclusive things that servers are jumping to serve us....this place, they were not very thrilled to have us order - even with tipping them. All in all, it was a great vacation for the price. We found the best deal and the upgrade room #1100 was icing on the cake.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at royal Solaris. Everything was perfect! One thing I would change is that you had to pay for the Wifi but other then that, we would definitely stay again. The pool grounds and the beaches were beutiful and you could always find something you liked to eat. The best part about our trip besides the cost, was the service. Mexico is our new go-to vacation place.

The hotel and staff were wonderful but the entertainment could have been better-both at the pool and in the evening in the hotel bar.

Another Fabulous Trip to Royal Solaris

Just spent two weeks at Royal Solaris. Had a wonderful time! Must do a shout out to some of the best staff! Abdias, Jhoan, Saray and of course Leonel (my ice bag savior). Also so Lulu and Teresa in the Spa, you ladies rock, had two of the best 50 minute relaxing massages!!! Entertainment staff, Martina so glad we had a few days with you once you came back from Holiday, you are a breath of fresh air and always so friendly to all your guests! Eugenia you are amazing also, you ladies work so hard to keep us all entertained! My only disappointment with the entertainment staff is the lack of face time that we have with Oliver, he is truly a blessing to the Solaris family and is greatly missed not being down around the pool area engaging with everyone, he does an amazing job of including everyone in the activities but unfortunately it appears they have him doing behind the scenes work that keeps him away from the guests (where he really should be, he is to great of an asset not to have out facing your guests). The food at Veneto & Marco Polo was amazing every night however our normal go to restaurant has always been Bogavante however every night we ate there the service and food was not what we are used to therefore forcing us to the formal restaurants each night. It was longer sitting at Bogavante waiting for service then it was to go to the formal restaurants. Not nearly enough staff there to wait on guests. A huge shout out to Luis in Veneto and Alberto in Marco Polo, you guys are absolutely amazing and we greatly enjoyed every meal with both of you! We had some glitches with our rooms but finally got them taken care of, however most of this is due to the fact they are updating the hotel remodeling all rooms which is definitely needed so we can accept the inconveniences. As always felt like we were back in our second home and miss you already!!!

Came in on Wednesday and asked Germain, a member rep we wanted to do a tour on monday. He told us to wait till Sunday to reserve our spots. On Saturday we find out the tour is booked and he would not accept responsibility but was rude and disrespectful! Spoiled our vacation. He needs lessons in customer service big time. Solaris can do better

Disappointing Experience: Got Food Poisoning

For my friend’s birthday, we decided to stay here. Our first impression? The hotel needs a major makeover. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel unless you are on a low budget and are willing to eat bad food OR spend more money eating at restaurants every day. Although most of the staff was very nice, we had 4 major concerns: 1. Management: My friend got food poisoning after having breakfast at the hotel (we had not left the hotel for any meals). The lobby supervisor was disrespectful and refused to pay for the doctor's visit even after it was confirmed she had food poisoning. One of my friends told the supervisor she saw the cook use the spatula she cooked with, to turn off the kitchen light. The supervisor said it was not valid feedback since she had not reported it immediately. More details on this at the bottom… 2. The smell: The smell throughout the hotel was very strong and not pleasant at all. We believe it was the detergent used to clean the floors. 3. The room: The furniture was very dated and chipped, our bathroom door didn’t lock, and the room had a very strong smell - a mix of the detergent and polisher 4. Food/Drinks: Overall the food was not good. The meat was hard to chew, the pasta was bland, and there weren’t too many options to choose from. The best food was the pizza from a bar near the pool 1.(cont’d): My friend puked multiple times, had diarrhea, fever, and was shaking all day. We went to the lobby to inform them about the issue. The front desk staff was very hesitant, but agreed to call a doctor and pay for it, IF he determined it was food poisoning. Once the doctor confirmed it was, the front desk staff refused to pay for the doctor, claiming she probably had "bad hygiene". They said they were going to call the police on us if we didn't pay. The supervisor was extremely rude and disrespectful. He refused to answer our questions, just shaking his head, making us very upset. We paid the doctor ourselves. Next morning, we spoke with the customer service manager, and after explaining the problem they reimbursed us for only the doctor’s fee, the antibiotics and medicine were paid by us.

We went here in October this year for a special birthday celebration. Their was 15 of us in total including 6 children age ranges 8-15. I can honestly say we all had an amazing time. Staff were all friendly and couldn’t do more to help. The entertainment team beside the pool catered for all ages. Martina and Frida had to be the best! They made us feel welcome as a family and really stood out. Martina even worked in the evening in the large theatre putting on some amazing shows. Would definitely recommend here for a stress free holiday. They were even doing building work on some of the floors not that you would know, as you didn’t hear or see a thing so well done to the hotel for managing it so well.
