Overall this is a good hotel .riu is our preferred hotel chain we love there food in every hotel we’ve stayed at . we’ve stayed at many of there 5 star resorts over the years . Good daytime and evening entertainment and shows. The hotel is very loud with music from neibouring hotel also a nuisance.the main noise comes from late night guests arrived new to resort suitcases rolling and also from parting hard all night and day !! The noise just radiates thru thecorridores because of its open plan hurraince proof design, but they could put soft close door closures on all front doors and install tilt turn windows or add fire doors to corridors to lower noise !! This was our only critisism but it did affect our stay and many other guests too!! The positives out way this only criticism . Positives: good bars and eateries, good day and even8ng entertainment ,there’s a nice beach and pools.great water sports facilities on doorstep ,lots of interesting nature around hotel and sea birds to enjoy, dolphins swimming by often.the food at this hotel is excellent thruout this complexion every restaraunt .

I still don't know why Trip Advisor ratings go from Average to Very Good!! I say The Riu Vallarta is Good! You get what you pay for, please realise this as it feels I have to say this each time I write a review of an All Inclusive hotel. Location is great except for the distance to the nearest town! Its a taxi ride during the hot days as it is around 6-7km I think to Bucerias (which was nigh on closed down late September early October) The beach and ocean are great, the hotel pools and pool bar are great especailly tghe bar staff who do a fantastic job getting all those cocktails out in seconds! The beer!! Awful! Sorry, but it was. Try turning the lager type into a Desparado by adding tequilla and lime, it will help! The dark beer is marginally better but both of them ensured the cocktails were hit more than usual. Food! Always something you caneat but very standard really! The fish we found was alwyas nice, some of the carvery stuff, mainly the ribs were lovely and salad stuff was fine. We always took lunch or afternoon meal at the beach side Flamingo due to the views. The Sir George and its trouser policy we were not impressed with as our medium steaks came out after quite a wait with the horns still in place! It was so rare it was barely cooked. Not for us!! We did try the stuffed chicken on another occasion but that was too dry! A guy onthe table next to us who requested a rare steak was over the moon with it so it is a matter of opinion and again, the cost of the whole holiday, this is not a complaint. The chinese buffet was OK, just OK! The Flamingo at night if you could get in due to the first come first served system, was the best of the three! We went 4 times and the worst ocasion was still Ok, the ebst was lovely! I had steak each time so it is hit and miss but decent enough We asked for a portion of ribs to accompany our steaks to share and this was served as an extra full meal!!! Very nice ribs though as already mentioned. Rooms! comfortable although a little tired with a musky aroma which wasn't that bad really but noticable! I think they are going to cose for a refurb? That should help but on that scenario, if the gut the lobby and make it a modern look, it will ruin it in my opinion!! It needs painting and and upgrad in furniture in the bar, that's all for me!! Sports bar is what it says on the tin!! Sadly they couldn't help my team beat Arsenal recently!!! :( All in all, you should enjoy the place, just don't expect best quaoity steak, you haven't paid for it! Enjoy!!

My wife and I spent a week at the Riu Vallarta (Sept. 2018). We have been to Mexico 4 times previously but not to an all-inclusive. We were over the top pleased with the offering at this location. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with stocked mini bar and fridge stocked with beer, soda and water. The hotel was constantly being cleaned, the food was excellent. We often commented on how shiny clean the tile flooring looked. The buffet was always changing foods, the a la carte restaurants had great food. No reservation for the a la carte just walk right in. The pools were always clean, Manual bartender at the pool bar was a pleasure to watch and to be served by him was a wonderful experience. I don't know how Sunwing can offer such terrific value, however will definitely use Sunwing and Riu hotels for any/all upcoming Mexican vacations. We have experienced Cuban all-inclusive (5 star) and they don't compare at all to the quality offered by Riu. Plus we had an ocean view room. Sunwing staff on hand all day to assist with and concerns and with any excursions. Danny was particularly helpful with our excursions. There was nightly entertainment out doors (covered) but quiet time was respected by 10 PM My wife and I have traveled for many years, she worked for an airline, I worked as a pilot. We highly recommend the Riu hotels and Sunwing for your next vacation to the south.

Good flight on Tui Dreamliner upgraded to premium and well worth it 11 hour flight worth the extra hotel probably 4 star 41/2 at the most you must realise different countries have different standards what you expect sa five star to be here is not there Hotel ok food ok beach ok but sand a bit rough and sea very rough plenty of sun beds at this time of the year but NO pads which if it was a true five star there would be apparently from Xmas to March the place is packed with long lines for everything Americans Canadians and Mexican main holidays so don’t bother people very nice but staff expect tips even though it’s all inc hotel is ok but probably needs an update overall well worth the money but upgrade for a better flight experience

My fiancé and I have just returned from the Riu Vallarta Mexico. We spent a blissful 2 weeks there. The hotel is fabulous. Our room was lovely, very spacious and in a quiet spot. The food on offer was out of this world, plenty of fish and seafood which my partner really enjoyed. The cocktails were plentiful, about 40 different ones on offer and mostly made with premium brands. We didn't try the A la carte restaurants as we like the fantastic choice on Offer in the buffet restaurant. The staff were amazing in all areas of the hotel. George and Ivan at the lobby bar were exceptional and Rosa in the buffet restaurant. Drinks were constantly brought around to you at the pools and beach, great service! We had a couple of problems with our room which were put right immediately. We would definitely stay here again, even the 12 flight was very comfortable on the Dreamliner. Many thanks to Tui and everyone at Riu Vallarta for a wonderful stay. Hope to see you again soon.
