Great Hotel!
LYNDA B.
Dec 01 2017
I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel with my family over Thanksgiving. It was a great place to stay. It was clean, quiet and overall a nice hotel. It is located near a lot of shops and you can walk to everything. The staff at the hotel were nice and friendly. There was an employee of the hotel, Herbert (may have been management) that kept checking in with us when we saw him. He asked how we liked the hotel, did we like the Island, could he do anything for us. It was nice to have that connection. The pool is a man made beach (there is a regular pool as well)I thought it was fine, my husband would have liked a real beach as he loves to snorkel. My kids (teens) had a great time as well. We felt comfortable and safe. We had a nice vacation.

Great hotel but would never reserve through Apple Vacations again

The hotel was absolutely lovely and the hotel staff were so helpful when Apple Vacations butchered our hotel reservation. According to the hotel, they received our reservation through Apple, told Apple they did not have availability for our entire stay and Apple NEVRR notified us. It took a ridiculous amount of time to check in, I didn't know if we would have to move hotels mid-trip. It just put an overall damper on the week. The roundtrip airport transport was pretty much a joke.

Nicola at the front desk was excellent. Roland at the front desk was excellent. Alexis the doorman was excellent. May want to consider hiring more servers in the Nautilus restaurant.

Very disappointed in Apple's arrangements

To start - we waited over 40 mins for transfer to hotel. After 3 calls to Apple pre-departure confirming our reservation is all-inclusive and having paper work from apple confirming all inclusive... Check-in at hotel was long and they could not tell me if it was EP or AI so we ate dinner and breakfast assuming the information from Apple was correct on AI, until hotel rep called us and said no, it was EP and that they will be charging us for meals so far. No Apple reps at resort or on the island to call to speak to about this issue or to book activities on the island Food that we had to pay premium for was BAD and service was poor As a manger at a Travel Agency that regularly recommends Apple to our clients and as a frequent traveler that has had a positive experience with Apple in the past, I cannot completely express my utter disappointment.

Recognition of some exceptional employees at the Renaissance Hotel in Curacao

I come about 5 to 6 times to Curaçao annually for business. As soon as I reach the entrance most probably I always encounter the first three exceptional employees to welcome you at home mind you, that is their way of expressing their warm-hearted feeling to you as a guest and ready to accommodate you and help you with luggage and offer you a refreshing cold bottle of water; this time I collected their names as being Arlone Meulens, Miguel Brete and Alexis Jake. Consequently you meet Tessely at the front desk, she is the best and with a smile she welcome you by name. How good ans welcome should you feel, this has become like a second home to me. I pledge the management to acknowledge these 4 employees as they are worth it. I’ll be back within 4 weeks

Great property, great location and amazing service.

Just spent a week at this property. I don't think I have ever experienced better customer service. From the moment we entered the building we were treated like valued guests. From Miguel and Alexis, the doormen, with their ready smiles, to Shanti at the check in, all made us feel so welcome. The amenities and food were top notch. The serving staff at both the Infinity Beach bar and Nautilius went out of their way to cater to our every request. Although there is no access to the sea, the infinity pool with its sandy floor and salt water makes you feel like you are swimming in the sea. All in all, a very comfortable, relaxing vacation made even more special by the attentiveness of the staff. Location couldn't be better. We were able to walk into the town over the very colourfully lit Queen Emma bridge. Around the property, there are nice stores to browse in, Rif Fort, with its stores, restaurants and cafes is steps away. There is also a Starbucks and Budget Car Rental on site. Definitely recommend this property. Can't wait to visit again.

Good property for business but it is not a resort

This is a nice hotel for business but please don't think you are going to a "resort". It does not have a resort feel and the "beach" does not make you think you are at a beach. It is a pool with sand and it was always VERY cold. The rooms are above average and the food is good but not consistently. I am not sure why everyone goes on and on about the staff. They are friendly, some more than others, but where have these people vacationed that they encounter so many rude people. In summary, the hotel is nice and the location is excellent. I really missed the "vacation", "resort" vibe so I wouldn't go back. The island is now one of my favorites. If I was to go back in the future, I would stay at one of the real "resorts" on the island and take a cab into town for a day or two. The island has so many very good restaurants and I always felt very comfortable walking around. Try to go into town when a cruise ship is in otherwise it's kind of desolate.

A nice day

It is a pleasure for us to share our experience with you. We are currently on the cruise ship, visiting 10 countries. Curacao was the 3rd country we visited. Upon arrival in Curacao we went for a walk in Willemstad, bought some gifts in punda to give to our grandchildren in the united stated and later we decided to have a meal at Renaissance. There was no buffet at that time at Nautilus so the waitress recommended us to infinity pool where we could eat. It was very cozy and with a nice view. The food was excellent. We would like to thank Kimberly and Jef for this. Juvinsca also for her good service. Around 8 o'clock in the evening we decided to eat dinner at the buffet. The dessert station was very tasty and looked nice. A compliment to Shachnon and his intern. We have spent a very nice day. We feel so bad we cannot remember our waitress name. She was gave us an excellent service.

Fabulous Stay right in the middle of town

We just returned from one of our favorite Caribbean Islands, Curacao. For the second part of our trip, we stayed at The Renaissance Curacao Resort and Casino in the The Rif Fort area of downtown Willemstad, the capital of Curacao. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Amazingly built over the shopping center, the infinity beach is unbelievable. You would never think it is not a real beach. This infinity beach pool is sea water which is constantly filtered from the sea.The beach itself is rather large with beautiful sand, huge palm trees, plenty of chaise lounges and dining area and The Infinity Beach Club is open from 10 am to 10 pm. It is TRULY amazing. There is also an infinity fresh water pool right next to it. The views are spectacular. Just about everyday there was a cruise ship docked right next to us. There is so much to do from this location without renting a car or taking a taxi. With a casino right at The Renaissance to all the night life at Rif Fort and the most incredible restaurants and shops to walking to the famous Queen Emma Floating Bridge which opens to allow ships into and out of the harbor, you will never lack for activity. There is so much history in Curacao as well. You will learn why it is so colorful when you take one of their history tours. We also took a day tour and learned so much more than we had in our past trips. We even me Curacao's famous Artist, Francis Sling who just happened to be in his gallery when we arrived. This man is so talented. The Renaissance is a wonderful resort and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Renovations are due to commence this spring. The restaurants are great and the casino was fun!! The staff is wonderful as well. A shout out to Milousca and Michaelango, Front Desk and Dwayne who is Food and Beverage Manager. Dwayne arranged an authentic Curacao dinner for us which was absolutely delicious. Thank you Chef!! At the Infinity Beach Club, the waiters were great. Shout out to Elizabeth, Rich, Bianca and Jennifer. You never had to get out of your chaise lounge as one of these fine young staff members were always ready to serve with a great big smile!! Whether entering or leaving The Renaissance, Roland and Chris were ready with a warm smile and the doors open.
