We book the hotel for March break and had a fantastic experience. The resort is very much family , kids oriented. If you feel like you need to have your evening drink and hanging out late then can take transport to Royalton hotel which is 2-3 minutes away. I appreciate all the effort that is made by all the lovely and kind workers to make everyone comfortable. Kids club is just great, my daughter loves it , food is great and we have no complains at all. Fresh local fish was served every day, I have never had this much sea food in my entire life! rooms are a bit out dated but they try hard to keep it clean. over all we had a great time , thanks to Gustavo in the main restaurant and the lady that does the fresh juices every day( I didn't get her name but she is lovely) we will be back again!

The rooms are very nice but they need a paint touch up. The Bathtub needed to be refinished. The closet door kept coming off track etc... My room was supposedly an upgraded room but it fell short. The best thing was the Location I was right across the water park.

We just returned from Memories Splash on the 20th of March. My family (Me, my wife and two kids (14 and 16) stayed at Memories from March 12-20, 2017. Just to warn everyone this will be a long review. We loved this resort and its sister resort The Royalton. For all those people that gave this resort a bad rating, you must not have been at the same resort. My family and I have been all over the Carribean on 9 cruises and 7 different resort trips and this is in our top 3. Entertainment - The entertainment crew was fantastic! Pablo (see pic attached), Lola and Jefferson (see pic attached) went out of their way to show my family a great time. They start work at 9am and do not finish until 11pm. That is a 14hr day folks and they always treated us great. I know I I worked that long I would not be as happy. Pablo made us laugh, Lola made us dance and jefferson always had a smile on his face. Great entertainment by the pool and terrific entertainment at night in the social bar area. Excellent job, 5 stars for the entertainment crew! Food - We at at the buffet, under the sea restaurant, the mexican restaurant, , The Royalton Beach Buffet, Marche-The Royalton Buffet and The Royalton Steak House. The food was very well prepared. There was always something excellent to eat. The food at the Royalton restaurants was a step better, but that is why you pay more. I had no problem paying $50.00 for 4 people to eat at the Royalton Steakhouse and Marche - The main buffet. I had a rib eye steak at the steakhouse that was massive and very well prepared. My wife and I had all you can eat Alaskan crab legs and grilled shrimp at the March buffet. Both were excellent meals. Both properties have so many options to choose from that even the pickiest of eaters will not go hungry. Another 5 stars for the food and the cooks and wait staff serving the food. The servers and cooks were always happy and made all of our meals enjoyable. Mixology - The bars, bartenders and waitresses were awesome. Ramon Fuego in the main pool was excellent and very entertaining. We had the same waitress at the entertainment (see pic) every night and she always took good care of us. Drinks were always made well and I rarely had to wait. Try a chocolate monkey, they are very good. We went to the sports bar at the Royalton at 11pm many nights to get wings, have a beer and watch march madness. 5 stars for the drinks and the staff making and serving them. The Beach - Loved this beach! I have been to almost every island in the Caribbean and this beach ranks in the top 5. St Johns Trunk Bay and St Thomas Megans Bay are the best, but this was not to far off. I had no problem getting a lounger. People abandon them quickly and I just grabbed one and moved it to where I wanted. I did not have to stay on the memories side. Nobody ever asked me which resort I was from. We set up 4 of the 8 days near the beach volleyball net. From there we had access to the bar, food, bathrooms, the ocean and of course beach volleyball. We had some fantastic beach volleyball matches and the court is sheltered so no wind. The beach volleyball court is very nice. There were no sales people on the beach and the security guards are always present. We took day and night walks down the beach and always felt safe. One night we walked to the Hard Rock to check out their Casino (20 minute walk) and came back to the Royalton to use the beds on the beach. It was a great night to relax under the stars. Beach and all the amenities on the beach were outstanding. Another 5 stars. Photographer - We used the photographer in the pool. It cost $10.00 per picture and they give you digital copies also. I like the price compared to the 9 cruises I have been on. The cruise ships gouge you for pictures. You can hire one of the photographers to take professional pics of your family on the beach. They are very well done and at a fraction of the price they charge on a cruise ship. When we go back next year I will definitely be setting this up. Check in/Check out- our room - Check in was a breeze. We arrived at 12 pm and had our bracelets on by 12:25. Our room was ready until 3, they watched our baggage while we went to eat and have some fun in the pool. I smoozed the guy at the desk and he hooked us up with room #2399 in building 8 overlooking the pool. Awesome room with plenty of space and storage for 4 people. The cleaning lady did a great job and our fridge was always stocked well with beer/pop and water. Over all our room and check in and out was great. Another 5 stars. Miscellaneous - This resort also had many other things to offer. The water park was excellent, feeding the ducks every night was really cool (my daughter loved it), soft ice cream and doughnuts at the coffee shop, teen and kid entertainment areas were great and the weather was impeccable. It was always hot and sunny and rained for 30 minutes one night in 8 days. Most of all what really sold us on this place was the people of the Dominican Republic. The workers worked very hard to make our vacation outstanding. We will definitely be going back next year at March Break. It will be the first time that we have returned to the same resort or cruise, that is how much we loved our vacation.
