all in all not to bad

Check in was a long process. Grounds were well kept, suggest to stay in building 7,8 or 9 as they are new. I stayed in building 6 and all 3 rooms smelt like mold, and they were very aged. Stains on the floor, rust around the toilet, bathroom door falling apart. The beach is at the Royalton resort but nice, once you get there. There is a trolley that takes you to the other hotel or you can walk about 7 min to get there. As it is a kids resort the entertainment doesn't start for adults till after 9. The water park was nice, had a great time. The food was good at the Mexican and Italian restaurants and the sports bar at the Royalton was good as well. The buffet was ok, they served the same food everyday and tongs were shared between foods. I went to roast pork and the server touched the fish then used it to serve the pork, not good if you have allergies. Coffee is very very strong and no coffee cream. The Sunwing rep who provided details about excursions said NO camera for the La Heinda park but everyone from the other hotel who went that day all had camera's; ruined my day. Take a camera for memories...They don't know what they are selling.

I went to this resort in August of 2017, I enjoyed my stay . The food was okay . I did lots of excursions for most of my time there. The staff was great and friendly. Make sure you try the Mama whana (not sure is this is the correct spelling) ..

This is a good family resort with a water park and fun friendly staff. I traveled with a 3 year old and a baby as well as 2 grandparents and my husband. Here is what you need to know..... 120 cm is the magic number - Your kids need to be 120 cm to use the big slides and under 120 cm to use the kids water park. There are big slides that would be safe with a parent, but the access is from one place, so for safety the kids need to be 120 cm. There are vendors and also a travel club trying to sell things. Sometimes they can be pushy, but generally OK and par for the course in the Caribbean. Certain restaurants as well as the buffet close on rotation, probably for cleaning or maintenance, but the schedule is not posted. They can also get quite busy, so if you have kids, be sure to show up for dinner at 6, or you could be waiting up to 2h. There is usually an activity (jumpy castle) for the kids while you wait, but it ends up being late by the time you eat. Pools close by 7 and water park is open 9-5. The beach is at the Royalton, and you have to take a small trolley to get there. They come frequently, but after 8, there is only 1 running. It is difficult to get a large stroller on the trolley, so a fold up style is better. Walking is also an option, 10 minutes to the beach, longer with kids. It can be difficult to find some activities, we had problems finding Yoga. Look for the people in the bright green shirts, they are the entertainment team. The rest of the staff does not know what is going on with entertainment. You can access Royalton restos for $15pp, but to do so, you need to open an account with a hold on your credit card first. Do this right away if you plan on using the Royalton facilities, spa etc. There is a beach bar and buffet (12-4) as well as sports bar that memories guests can use for free. Enjoy your stay.

Hotel check in was quick and friendly. Hotel was excellent. Few bits of damaged roofs from the hurricane. But everything else was lovely. Gardens well kept. Food quality and variety excellent. We sometimes had to use other hotel restaurants. Shuttle ran every ten minutes. Ralton hotel food seemed a little better. With more choices. The staff were friendly and always said hello. Weather was sunny and hot. Sum rain but that’s September for you. The pool areas were spotless and pool bar staff very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t recommend this hotel any more. Would certainly stay there again when I visit Dominica next year

We stayed at Memories Splash Punta Cana late October and had a great time. We were a large group and spent a lot of time by the active pool where there was always something to do. We also spent some time at the sister resort, Royalton, and on the beach. The food at the buffet is adequate, the a la carts were fantastic; our favourites were the Mexican and seafood places. The rooms are fine and the housekeeping staff did a great job tidying the room and supplying plenty of fresh towels. The waterpark was a blast! Many of us in the group, young and old, spent many afternoons there. Do not get talked into going for a timeshare presentation! Some of our group did this and found the sales pitch high pressure and sleazy. If you consider buying a timeshare, do your homework before signing anything! While we had a good time and the resort was lovely, I would pay extra to stay at the sister resort, Royalton, if we were to do the trip over again.
