what a hotel! and a staff that really cares, they will leave you with an everlasting impression making each of their guests special this is what makes a great hotel ! the animination is the best of all southern destinations that I have visited. Andre the supervisor is amazing, and his daily powers walks with guests was fantastic ! nothing compares to Jamaican hospitablity!! Start your day with Jamaican Blue mountain coffee and a great breakfast at the Jasmin Buffet and the rest of your day will be perfect! More>

Not so great

The facility, rooms, pools are lovely. The Italian restaurant was awful. The buffet was so boring and deserts terrible. The lunch buffet with jerk chicken was wonderful every day. Service there was great. The Brazilian Steak dinner was excellent and service the best. The real problem was the rude service at the front desk. First, we were taken to the wrong room. Clerk was snotty as if it was our fault. Maid service never straightened our room until after 4:00. By that time, we needed to shower for dinner. Never once received turn down service. Front desk did not answer the phone one time when we called. We could not get help even when we went to the front desk. They were so busy gossiping with each other and giving nasty glares to all white customers, they couldn't be bothered with us. Upon leaving we requested bags to be brought down at a specific time. One hour later, with the bus waiting, front desk asked someone to finally get the bags. At no time was the front desk helpful or polite. I will never come back and will never recommend this resort. We were on the adult side and felt ignored by 3 year olds in charge. More>

Great trip to Grand Bahia

This is our 10th trip to Jamaica, And we went for a 4 day stay at Bahia Príncipe Don Pablo. This was my first time at this hotel, and I must admit, the facilities were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were large and very tastefully decorated, the food was fantastic and always had a lot of selection. The staff were very accommodating and did their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The only somewhat negative things I could comment about, is the hallway on level 1 on your way to the buffet was dark and the carpeting in the hallway didn't fit with the great facilities. And it could be a problem if you have problems walking because the buffet was quite a distance from the rooms, but your in Jamaica, and on vacation so it's no problem Mon! And they do have carts to drive you. For me, they could have played more reggae music at the pool, I think I heard Bob Marley music only once throughout my stay, and I have come to expect reggae when in Jamaica as it is part of the culture and experience that I enjoy. The location is a closer to Ocho Rios than to Montego Bay and there isn't much near the hotel. While your there take a cab ride to Scotchies in discovery bay for great jerk pork and chicken, the location at discovery bay is a large patio right on the water with great views, or take a trip in to Ochie for a visit to John Crowes bar, or the jerk centre. Just be careful when in Ochie walking around because when you get down past sunset hotel there are some locals will offer to show you the way to places and then try to charge you for directions. Hope you Love Jamaica as much as I do! More>

Relaxing time

Block 26 Ground Floor Negatives first Turndown did not happen every night, even though the room was free most evenings between 18:00 and 21:00.Pool activities every afternoon , so anyone who does like a mid afternoon siesta will needs ear defenders if facing the pool. Positives Housekeeping was mostly pretty good and thorough. Restaurants were very good, Very comfortable and sufficient sunbeds and umbrellas. Beach very clean and an excellent man made lagoon. Service very good for all areas from the indoor bars , outdoor bars and restaurants. All areas kept extremely clean. As a Brit, tipping is not normal, after every drink, but I did succumb towards the end !! Recommend you just bring US dollars as EVERYTHING is priced in that currency. More>

Lovely hotel, beautiful beach

Stayed 5 days here and celebrated my 40th birthday. Hotel staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful. My only recommendation if staying here is to print all of your travel reservations such as airport transportation and hotel reservations. This is a very laid back atmosphere and it seems sometimes things get misplaced in such a relaxed place. Also make restaurant reservations on the resort in advance as they do fill up fast. Jaszmins is the only restaurant on the luxury side where you do not need a dinner reservation and it had a different theme every night and the food was delish. The luxury side has the best beach by far. I have traveled to Mexico and DR and this beach at the resort was well designed. The beach has an expansive area of shallow blue water no deeper than 3 or 4 ft separated by a dividing wall to keep the rough seas at bay that is perfect to lounge or frolic in. Also therw are no peddlers on the beach which is very much appreciated. Activities are very relax on the luxury side but if you crave more adventure you can take a short stroll to the other side of the hotel. Last note is there aren't any shops near the resort only those on the resort which were a little pricey. We did find great deals at the airport if you can believe that. Also try the Miami its a fruity tropical blended drink that hit the spot every time. More>
