This hotel is amazing. As soon as we walked in to check in, we were greeted with Champagne. Check in was smooth, waiting to get to our room took 45 minutes. We stayed in the newer building, please forgive me because I don't remember but let me tell you that it was luxurious. We got into the room, and I guess the bathroom wasn't completely done because it was missing a tub and shower head lol....so they moved us to a BIGGER room with a huge balcony and gave us a bottle of wine for our trouble. I would recommend asking for an end unit, because it is more spacious. We were on the 5th floor facing the pool and ocean. The staff was unbelievably nice. The resort was shiny and clean. There was security posted on each floor. The buffet was delicious, they had different themes everyday so you're not eating the same food all the time. We made reservations at the Japanese and Brazilian restaurant and it was SUPERB! When going to the Japanese, ask for the show. The liquor is NOT watered down and they have a great selection to choose from. One of my favorite bartenders was Tevin, he was ALWAYS HAPPY and FUNNY. He made sure everyone was having a good time. This was one of the best vacations that I have ever been to and I can't wait to go back. The only bad thing I would say is that the taxi service are rip offs, they charged us $35 just to go 2 miles.

A great vacation - "yah mon'!

Stayed at the Don Pablo adults only end of the Grande Bahai Principe in November. The hotel was lovely - very clean & well kept. Had fifth floor (building 26) room with a nice balcony & pool /ocean view. No Mosquitos - maybe they are on the lower floors? but we never saw any. The entertainment crew worked very hard and keep things lively. The buffet restaurants were good with lots of choice & good service. The Rodizio & the Mikada were by far our fav meals! Amazing food & great service! Well done! Don Pablo - disappointed in it after all the hype. Service was poor - food was ok. Staff were indifferent. Our rooms were always spotless - the cleaning staff worked hard & did a great job. Shout out to "Melissa" (Hiebert?) - very friendly and helpful. She always went the "extra mile". Miss seeing her smiling face & cheerful attitude each morning! Always had time to answer any questions or assist us with any issues. Thanks Melissa! Xavier in the Rodizio/lunch buffet - always a big smile & provides great customer service. Loved his enthusiasm! Drinks - impressed with the variety and quality of the drinks. They seemed to run out of ice for making the slushy drinks (piña colada etc) in the afternoon. We had a great vacation at this resort in Jamaica! The only reason I gave it a 4* rather than 5* is because of the a-la-carte restaurant fiasco. When you pay for a high end adults only resort with unlimited use of the dinner restaurants - that is what you expect to get? We tried (as suggested in many posts) to book our restaurant choices as soon as we got settled. The lady at the service desk was very unfriendly (bored?) and made no attempt to provide assistance rather than to tell us there was no availability in ANY restaurants (other than the buffets) for our first 2 nights and to come back Saturday when they had the new schedule, Went back 3 times Saturday - to be told it was not up yet. Went back at 3:00 pm and she said some of the we wanted restaurants were filled. How does that work? When I told her that was unacceptable - she finally managed to find us availability. These same restaurants are always only 1/2 full. Apparently they don't use all of them at sittings. Not sure why when people want to (and paid) to use them. We talked to some people who were unable to book ANY a-la-carte meals and some that could only get 1 or 2. Once they get this sorted out - we would definitely return!

I didn't know what to expect seeing that I booked this resort through Book-it-.com but all my fears were done away with from the moment I walked into my junior suite couple that with the high level of service starting with my Butler-Simone, to the restaurant staff, Shanice and Durane and the service did not disappoint pool side with Ken Roy and Michael, the bartender. If I could give this resort more stars I would. Just an amazing place to visit and stay!

An Amazing Experience!

We are a young Canadian couple who had an amazing experience during our first stay here. We were overwhelmed by the kindness of the staff who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We throughly enjoyed both the man-made beach (right by building 27) and the pool as well. A big shout out to Raymond (the bartender at the beach bar) and Chaz (the best lifeguard around) who both went above and beyond to ensure we were always comfortable and enjoying our stay to the fullest! Holly the butler was also amazing and checked in with us everyday, always looking for feedback and to make sure we were happy. Our room was recently built and was extremely clean. The only issues we had was with the slow service at the a la carte restaurants. However, the buffets offered a lot of variety and we always had full plates ( we are very picky eaters). We highly recommend the rafting trip down the Martha Brae river. It is a quick and relaxing excusrion that gets you right back to the hotel in 3 hours. We were surprised by the amout of people we met that had returned time and time again to The Luxury Bahia Principe, but as time went on we quickly understood why. The staff are what make this resort a special place to be and they will make sure your trip is as well.
