Beautiful resort, amazing ocean view.

Just returned from a week of warm, sunny weather, windy, one day overcast, didn't stop us from enjoying the beautiful pools (on both sides), the beaches and the delicious food and drink. Room in bldg 25, 6th flr, new, very clean, no issues with restocking of fridge or amenities or towels, beautiful pool and oceanview. When balcony doors are closed you can barely here the entertainment, or you can leave the doors open and enjoy the music in the comfort of your room or on the balcony. People were very friendly, helpful, attentive, always saying good day and asking if there was anything we needed. No complaints about any of the service we received in the bar or restaurants or front desk. Mutual respect goes a long way. Beach at Luxury is new, man made with lovely sand, pretty sheltered by the man made break wall, snorkelled - small reef formations with brain and fan coral, small and medium fish, saw a squid. Temporary Beach bar works fine until the new permanent bar and washrooms are completed. Pool, beach, restaurants and bars will be very busy once the 2nd new building is completely open. Security do a good job of checking bracelets. Grand side is noticeably busier. Lobby bar and Kevon is a must for a relaxing drink in a very comfortable environment. Buffet, food was plentiful, something for everyone on each of the different theme nights, grilled lobster tails on Thursdays. We had roast beef, duck, crab legs, of course jerk chicken, gourmet pizza, shrimp, pork, etc. etc. Staff were pleasant and attentive, to name just a few, Hervin, Kamar, Jerardo, and special mention to Teleen who remembered our names each time. Rodizio, very nice for a simple lunch, jerk chicken, pizza, stir fry, good service from Alicia. Dinner was amazing for all you meat eaters. Interesting presentation and process, they give you a card, they bring your drinks and a starter and then you go to the salad bar. You turn the card to the green side when you are ready for your meal, they bring you a platter of veggies to share and then they start bringing out large skewers of meat which they go from table to table offering. Let's say they start with slices of sausage, they cut you off a piece and go to the next table, then bring out the lamb and slice off pieces of that and then bring out steak and slice of pieces...you get the idea. There must be at least 8 offerings and you can decline what you don't want and when you've had enough, just say so. They then bring you dessert of pineapple with cinnamon, a must try, simple, refreshing! Had no idea this is how it worked when we made the reservation but were very happy with the experience and Dominique, Ramone, Michael. Don Paublo, a more intimate experience, great service from Tremain, delicious duck, chateaubriand was a little chewy but tasty. Overall, this is our 5th Luxury Bahia experience, first time in Jamaica, and we loved it. We think the extra for adults only is worth the extra pampering we experience. We enjoy the consistency of this chain from one resort to another. Excellent customer service training program, can depend on the food being very good, very clean and high level of maintenance throughout the premises, lovely good size rooms. There are always "situations" with change and new employees but from our experiences, suggestions are considered and improvements implemented. Will return but with family and grandchildren, so will be on the "other" side. More>

If you want a place that fits all your wishes for party time for swimming in the pools and nightly entertainment without the worry of smaller family members underfoot and yet a relaxed vacation if need be then Don Pablo side of this resort is well worth the added cost. The personnel at this resort cannot do enough for you they go out of their way to make sure you are one happy person. Pillow top mattresses, top of the line drinks at the bar, good food all add up to a good vacation. we were very fortunate to stay here for 14 days and made so many of the staff into friends we hated to leave. there are so many people we would like to thank but I would not want to miss anyone so to all of them thank you we will return. I do want to say though that we had booked some al a'la carte but ended up cancelling all but one because the new adult buffet restaurant called the "Jasmine" was sooo good that we ate breakfast and supper here every day but that one and wished we had cancelled them all. I would also like to add that two things irked me and that was those men who sat at the table and did not remove their hats, and people who were serviced to death at supper and never tipped. More>

Beautiful place but some employees need to work on service!

On January 23rd we arrived at Luxury Bahia Principe Don Pablo Collection. The resort was beautiful including the Lobby, Lobby Bar and the many sitting areas throughout the resort. Our room was beautiful and our housekeeper Deon Kerr was fantastic both friendly and efficient. Kevon at the pool area was friendly, hard working as well as entertaining. At the Lobby Bar we would like to commend Princess and Jermaine for their dedication and friendliness along with all of the waitresses. We found the best food to be at Don Pablo, we are not big fans of buffets. Even at the Al A Cart restaurants you had to do a partial Buffet. It would have been nice if they explained all the restaurants, I guess I should have done my homework. The pool and surrounding areas were beautiful and well maintained. The bar in the pool area was extremely small, we feel that the sushi area should not be there making the bar more available to guests wanting drinks. The pool area waitresses’ service was terrible; there were times we waited for over an hour for someone to come to take drink orders. The bar would open at 10 a.m. but was never ready to start service until nearly 10:30 a.m. The wakeup call we had requested for 6 a.m. was late, the call came in at 6:20 a.m. and they asked if we had requested a call! We understand that the resort recently opened and some of the people working might need more training on customer service especially in the pool bar area. Hopefully if we choose to return to your resort next year things at the pool area will have improved. More>

Just returned from a fabulous vacation at the Luxury Bahia Principe Don Pablo. This resort offers great value for money in my opinion. We chose to stay on the new adults only side and were thrilled that we did. The family side was busy / loud and not as nice as the adult side. The pool and beach area were very quiet but offered activities if you wanted to particpate. (you can win some of their wonderful jamaican coffee and rum!) The staff really made this resort. These people cannot do enough for you and the service they provided was outstanding. Kudos to management on your training programs. Your staff are very special. (Kevon, a big nod to you!) Room service was fast and was followed up every time by a call to ensure we were happy with the service. The mini-bar was replenished and room cleaned daily. The restaurants were terrific and the service at the Jasmin buffet was outstanding, even white table cloth service for breakfast. There were many foods to choose from and no one really should complain about the food at all. It was great! Bar service everywhere was fast and the drinks were great no matter what bar we went to. The other point of interest with this resort is they have tons of staff cleaning the grounds and buildings everywhere..all...the...time. This was by far the cleanest resort I have ever been to. A new building will be opening soon and with the increase in guests I hope the quality of service can stay the same. One of the managers assured us that they have a plan in place to make sure it does so based on our experience I am sure this will continue to be a stand-out resort. Thank you staff for such a wonderful week, you really made us feel special! More>

Where's the Beach? Don't ask Air Canada Signature Vacation staff!

Accommodations Luxury side is newer, but in itself not worth the difference from the Main hotel. Both are stunningly clean, nice, and spacious. In Luxury, Building 25 offers better views. But stay on ocean side, otherwise you face the uninspiring tennis court. Floors 2 and 3 are walkable, but 4 through 7 requires an elevator Deluxe offers a kid less environment which is good if you don't enjoy mixing 10 year olds among your intoxicated squad of water volleyball enthusiasts. Luxury safes are no cost which in itself almost pays for price delta from Main. Nightly entertainment at Luxury is actually good quality and in an intimate large tent setting. Navigation around resort is easy, with every point of interest assessable in a short walk. Beach The beaches, especially on Luxury side, are not nice. They are rocky, narrow and uninviting. Beach chairs and towels are always available. Pool Very nice. You have your choice of family, quiet and fun settings. Again, chairs and towels are plenty. Air Canada Signature Vacation Staff is absolutely useless. I've read similar complaints about these individuals at this one resort, but for some reason, they linger. They make a terrible first impression and make sure you leave on a bad note. Seriously, a monkey can offer better service than the AC Signature staff. Food Restaurants are fine. Many choices of cuisine. But the Jasmin buffet offers very good food, with very good service and no lines. Outdoor grill is okay. There's always food available. Service The staff is courteous and professional. There are plenty of servers and they smile, and not for the tip, although they are appreciative of a few bucks here and there. Bar You can get a drink, always. Internet Spotty. Don't upgrade to premium - it's the same as base in reliability. More>
