We were 3 ladies on a girls trip staying on the Luxury/Adults ONLY side for nine glorious days. These days went by way too fast :( Continue reading for the real deal about the Luxury Side of Bahia Principe. Booking Tours: Shanna Gay was very knowledgeable about the tours and what packages we should book. We booked our trips right away! We went to the Luminous Bay, (A must see! There are only 4 types of lagoons like this in the world!) 9-Mile Tour: Bob Marley, (Highly recommended) Dunn's River Falls (Another must see) and Mystic Mountain (I could take it or leave it. I found the Bob Sled to be short and the Zip Lining not that exciting.) My favorite trip out of all four hands down was the Luminous Bay. Since there are only 4 in the world I feel like it is a once in a lifetime experience that you can not get anyplace else. The Room/Grounds: Why do I always have to wait hours upon hours to get a room? The management must work on developing a better system for this. I'm used to waiting for a room while on vacation, but waiting for around 4-5 hours was ridiculous! I arrived at the resort around 1, Finally made it into the room at around 4-5. Especially after traveling all day I just want to swim! We were on the 3rd floor in building 25 facing the tennis courts. Terrible view. We had 2 double beds. The bathroom was nice with double sinks and a closed off toilet from the shower. It helped us get ready quicker. The whole Luxury side was clean and beautiful. The staff is always cleaning to make the resort look the absolute best. Outside by the pool feels like a dream! I also love how they have candles out at night to keep the bugs away. Look for the little frogs in the bushes. They are cute!!! The Nightlife: You have the Disco. After 2 nights you will get sick of it. I would have loved to go to the karaoke bar, but it smells too bad to stay there! They had a sports bar at the start of my trip. By the end of my vacation, the sports bar was under construction, so that option is out of the picture. The pools: The grounds are huge and the pools cover the entire ground. I stayed by the luxury pool the whole time. A DJ plays tunes all day and they have entertainment. I'm down for playing anything, so I was never bored. They even give you a points card to keep track of your points. At the end of my trip, I won a coffee to take back with me. #WinningAlways The beach: You have 3 areas of beaches you can go to. Well technically four if you go to the microscopic nude beach area. I stayed by the bay area right in the front of the luxury resort. I brought my own snorkel. I was able to see a ton of fish right from that area. Another good spot to go is the area by the scuba boat. It is right after the gazebo. I even got to release sea turtles into the wild. That was an amazing experience! The drinks: It depends on your bartender how good or bad your drink will be. Some will give you half a glass of rum for a rum and coke even after you ask them not to. Others will make you the perfect drink like Melvin from the pool bar or the bartenders in the lobby at nighttime. I wish they had a coffee maker like they have on the Grand Side in the Luxury lobby. Why does the Grand Side have one and not the Luxury!?!? Tip: Davar from Rodizo made me the best capoeira I ever had in my life! Find Davar for the best drinks around! Breakfast: The Jasmin girls are amazing! Starting off my day with welcome to Jasmin was the best way to start my morning!! I miss them! I'm happy I was able to take official pictures with them giving the Jasmin welcome. General food: Good! The buffets are ok. I always try to avoid them for dinners on vacation. The restaurants always have better food than the buffets. Just book a restaurant each night. The hotel has an app which makes booking where to eat easy. Lifeguards: They should be closer to the pool! What happens if there is an actual emergency? They are hiding away! On the adult side only this is acceptable, but for the Grand side. I do not think they should be hiding with all of the children swimming. 4th of July parade: I loved it! It was such a nice touch to hear the National Anthem playing in a country so far from home. The children that played it were AWESOME! They brought tears to my eyes. All Stars of the resort: Jason:The best entertainer on the entertainment staff. X-qlusiv dancers are the best! Maybe they all not wear shirts for their next performance. Andre: Great pool workout. I'm in the best shape of my life now. Chevon: He was ready to spring to action at anytime in case of an emergency. Kevon from the pool: I love when he sings! He is awesome!!! He needs a greater role at the resort. He should be singing in the lobby to guests when they check in. Also he should be singing for guests while they go on tours! He should never stop singing because the guests love his voice! His personality is infectious! My favorite show was with the staff in it! I can't believe the first time it was done was when I was there! That definitely needs to be a weekly event! Especially since the show was fantastic! I loved it! Negatives: I felt like I could be anywhere when I came to the resort. It needed more to make me feel like I was in Jamaica. The resort needs more Jamaican flare. Whether that would be in entertainment, music, and general décor. More>

This is an amazing hotel that is actually 2 hotels joined together. The luxury side was built in December 2015, so it's brand new. All white. Nice and clean. Huge property. All inclusive. As a luxury guest you have access to both hotels. Beach is ok, a bit shallow; sand is white, imported. The food is amazing. 5 or 6 restaurants and 2 buffets. Great variety of food that changes daily. Very clean, but the maid services are somewhat average. They sometimes forget to restock your fridge or bring new towels or whatever it is you requested to your room. Ya mon, it's Jamaica. No problem mon. They talk funny. My room was a junior suite and it was amazing! I would totally come back. One more thing: Mosquitos Bring bug spray with you (there is a shortage there) Request for your room to be sprayed (free) Bring lots of singles for tips! More>

Great Hotel, minor improvements needed!

We stayed at the Luxury BP for 7 nights. PROS: Rooms are gorgeous and way bigger than many resorts Staff always goes above and beyond for any request you have Buffet was one of the best we've experienced while travelling (the Jazmin) - I should preface this by saying I'm of Jamaican descent so I loved the Jamaican food - almost authentic! Anniversary treats were nice (got upgraded to oceanview) CONS: Beach on both sides of the resort are shallow. You literally have to stoop and sit for the water to cover your chest area (and I'm only 5"3) Room service is absolute crap. Really, nothing on the menu and what they do have wasn't good. We had dirty sheets and pillow cases a good amount of the time and kept having to call down to the concierge to get them changed Only one bottle of alcohol provided in the room and we had to call for it to be replenished Overall good resort with some improvements needed to truly be a 5 star! I had the most AMAZING experience staying at the Luxury Bahia. The grounds were immaculent and the staff was absolutely amazing!! They ALWAYS greeted you with a pleasant smile and made sure that all my needs were met. I had the pleasure to meet one of the waitstaff in particular named Delissa that served us in the restaurant near the pool. She ALWAYS served us with a BIG smile and took care to make sure we had everything requested. You can really tell she enjoyed her work! Thanks Delissa for your service, we hope to see you again next year :) More>
