I thought the hotel was a nice place. Staff was friendly except for some of the waiters. The food was mediocre but everything else was pretty great. The bartenders were amazing and probably the friendliest people in the whole place. Overall a decent place to stay.

Watchout for the "non-staff" staff

Great place is you can navigate the sharks selling excursions or "vacation shares" (new timeshare I guess) Hotel staff is EXCELLENT, and super friendly. The time share folks that assaulted us while waiting for our room even told us not to waste our time checking in with the Apple vacations rep because they were just going to try and sell us stuff. Ha!

Pretty good experience overall at the hotel. It was a beautiful destination and good weather. Food was good but nothing mind blowing. If I had to say anything it would just be that Apple told us to meet their rep at a specific time/location to schedule our transfer home and they didn’t show up. We had to call directly to schedule and we were under the impression that it was booked. But on the day of our departure , no one showed. The hotel graciously provided a cab to take us to the airport or we would have missed our flights.

The hotel does not match Apples stated claims. Hotel is run down, dead flies everywhere. Check in staff is less the friendly. Property is overcrowded and checking is difficult when it is busy. A wedding is held daily at the Hotel and makes for chaos. Pool area does not accommodate amount of guests booked. Constant battle for chairs at the pool. Our towels were stolen and security constantly at the pool patrolling . Indicates a problem. We have booked many vacations through apple and have never been disappointed until this time.

We love the Grand Palladium in Punta Mita. Although the resort is a little older than the other resorts in PV, the staff does an excellent job of keeping the facilities clean and up to date. Any issues (non-functional TV remote) were handled immediately and with a smile and an apology. The staff are what makes the resort what it is. Always a friendly 'Hola' as you pass by and an eagerness to help in any way possible. We love Matias at the adult pool bar! Thanks again for a wonderful trip!

We were asked if we wanted to upgrade to the Royal Suites, we accepted the offer for additional monies. Once upgraded, the rooms and service were excellent. There was a problem of communication of when a room would be ready. We were told 3PM then packed our stuff and met at the lobby, ( we stayed one night in regular room) it was a few hours before our room at the Royal was ready. The shows were so-so....but maybe we are spoiled. We liked the Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya MX much, much better

The lovely welcome with a fresh juice beverage at the reception desk was so nice. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful for our whole stay. We loved the free boogie boards and sandcastle buckets, etc. Loved playing in the waves on the beah and swimming in the saltwater "pool" for our daughter. Just a nice, relaxing place to stay. The food at the Mexican restaurant was excellent. The other restaurants we tried were fine, with the fresh-pressed juices at the cafeteria being exceptional. The only downside for us was the beds were quite small, more like a double than a queen. That was probably stated in advance and I overlooked it. Otherwise great stay! Highly recommend a daytrip into Sayulita by cab (about 25 minute drive) to check it out.

Our recent vacation to the Grand Pallidium in Riveria Nyarit was above and beyond what we expected. There were no problems with our direct flight or transportation to the resort. The Grand Palladium is a beautiful, unique resort. The rooms are lovely, but most of our time was spent outside. There are 3 pools, our time was spent at the adult infinity pool. I can't say enough about the service at this resort. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The check-in staff called our room at least 3 times to make sure everything was fine and to see if we needed anything. I would definitely return to the Grand Palladium and would recommend a stay at this resort.

The staff was amazing. They were courteous, helpful and always positive. Loved them all. Our room left a lot to be desired. In the 21st century, we now require outlets by the bedside and a few more than a couple throughout the room. Our patio door was stuck and the curtain was unhooked at the hanging rod. It took them 2 days to correct this. They came by every day but always after 8:30pm when we were getting ready for bed. The shower floor was so slippery, it was very difficult to relax when showering. The beach...well there was none on our side of the hotel. It was all slippery rock. It was not all we had hoped.

Absolutely wonderful vacation for family with young kids
PrincessPerogie, Toronto
Tue Apr 24 18:46:37 EDT 2018
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Vallarta last week from 12-19. This was our first trip as a family of 4. We have two kids aged 9months and almost 3 years old. I had done extensive research before selecting this resort and based on the excellent reviews and tons of kid-friendly amneities we chose to stay here for a week. This might be a bit lengthy so bear with me. I am also working on a blog post with video that will better review this resort but in the interest of time and recollection I will post my general thoughts here. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: the resort is a good 45 mins away from the airport and you will likely be the last drop off and first pick up. Bear that in mind. We knew this coming into it and thankfully our kids did really well with being patient on the shuttles and buses but some children might not fare so well. The roads sometimes can be rocky/hilly/bumpy on the route up and I had to take extra care holding my 9 month old on the shuttle bus. My toddler got a kick out of the bumps. Upon arriving, check in was quick and prompt and very friendly. We were checked in within 20 minutes - I quickly shut down the discussion about meeting for their timeshare talk we had been on the road since 5am and it was now nearing 6pm. I told them very clearly that we just wanted to get to our rooms and settle down for dinner as we were meeting some friends. That was all and we proceeded to our rooms. They have a service called SMILE services I believe. These guys are so awesome. Theyre job is to go around and do special touches for their guests who may be celebrating something. When we arrived to our room we found a birthday banner, confetti everywhere, pictures, balloons and a towel cake for my husband and son who were both celebrating birthdays on the trip. It was very sweet and unexpected. ROOMS and house keeping: Theres 4 beers in the mini fridge which doesnt keep anything cold...just "chilled". its unfortunate because sometimes you really dont want a semi cold beer. anyways. juice boxes and water and beer were replenished daily. It got a little ridiculous with the water bottles though. They started piling them onto the dresser there were so many of them. Im not sure if im complaining or what it was just very odd. I wish they had done that with beers instead. Ha. The room came with 2 double beds. me and my husband shared 1 and the toddler shared the other. We also were set up with a pack and play for the baby which was perfect. Me and my husband had the worst sleeps ever. The pillows and the actual mattress were so soft. there was absolutely no firmness I could feel my body sink into the bed. Every night we tossed and turned which was really unfortunate given this was one of the very few qualms we had with the resort. It might be time to upgrade those mattresses. The toddler and baby slept fine which was great. Room service came in but I found they didnt really clean but instead tidied up. My kid had an accident one night so we had them replace the bedding which was great but otherwise we found confetti everywhere from the first day even on the last day when we were packing up to leave. The room just never had that polished look im used to when staying at other resorts. Regardless it did the job and it is just a place to sleep/nap. One of the things we struggled with the most in our room was the lack of drawers. We had to get very creative with how we organized our clothing and luggage. The only propery areas was in the closet which had some shelving but not sufficient. definately not for a family of 4. Like I said, it was just and inconvenience or annoyance more than anything. The showers were great, water temperature and pressure was great and no issues with any of the other bathroom facilities. The room does have EXCELLENT black out curtains which most parents of young kids will appreciate. Once those babies were closed you had no idea it was broad daylight outside. It was great for when the baby needed a nap or we wanted them to sleep in a little bit. When we arrived there was a "low battery" signal on the safe. We called in and someone immediately changed it. It blinked low battery again just on our last day. SO beware if you see that call and have someone change it for you. TV - there are like 2 english channels. One of them is CNN. It would be great if they had more english satellite option especially an english kids tv station but my kid managed with the netflix downloads we had set up on our phone. This was a lfiesaver when we were all getting ready/showering for the evening dinner he could just veg out on the bed and watch tv on my phone. But yes, more english channells would be appreciated. The location of our room was actually perfect. it was close to the hub of everything a short walk to the lobby, the show area, the breakfast buffett and the zoo. POOLS: We hung out mainly at the mainpool which is where the majority of the action is and all the people with kids go. This was perfectly designed. The kids splash pad/pool area is fantastic and large and has 2 "bigger" slides as well as toddler sized slides and a splash bucket, waterfall wall and some warm streams of water. It was perfect for our baby to play in with us and for our toddler to splash around and explore safely. It was also right beside the larger main pool whcih also connected to another pool. The whole set up is genius really. We spent a good 5 hours a day out there and when we wanted a change of scenery took the short walk to the beach (5mins) and hung out on the beach or in the manmade salt water pool. The girls at the pool are also incredible. Carmen and Arancia (sp?) were our two favorites. They constantly came by to chit chat, ask if we needed more drinks or just drop off surprse drinks. Our favorites were the Pato and the Ticket to Fly. They also brought our son over fun fruity slushy style drinks. These girls are hard working and hustle! They have a drink menu at all the bars if you want to try some of their specialty drinks and beer cocktails! I recommend it. Also always do mimosa's in the morning. BEACH: The waves and water were a bit intense during our stay. Our toddler was mad at the ocean for taking his toy. He also kept gettign knocked down. We were supposed to go out on a catamaran/sailing thing with him but it was cancelled because of the waves. Truth be told im glad, i would have been nervous out there with the 3 year old given how strong the waves were all week. Keep your eyes peeled around 1pm daily for some sort of cooking thing on the beach they do Paella, seafood noodle, Tacos (OMG amazing), and fish! It changes daily! Also they have a foam party on the beach at noon on fridays that was really fun for all of us and we got some great videos and photos! He enjoyed the saltwater pool alot more because of the sandy entrance, no waves (to steal his toys), and that he still felt like he was in the beach. I did too. it was absolutely gorgeous out there and I wish I could have spent more time just lounging there. It really is remarkable. Breakfast Buffett "bosque": Im gonna approach this two-fold. I had 1 really awesome experience our first morning. Our waiter that morning (it was also super early like 730am) was amazing. he cleared our plates refilled my mimosa's constantly and was just wonderful. The next 2 days were a disaster. The service was awful and not one person came by to clear plates or offer water or coffee. I waited 30 minutes for a high chair and after asking 4 people for one I was finally given one after I flagged one down myself. I had even asked (in spanish because I speak spanish! if one could be brought in from a nearby restaurant and was coldly told no) I was so upset that we decided to try out the alternate breakfast place called "the nest" which was empty when we arrived. The selection of foods is drastically smaller but the service was much better. It still wasnt excellent like that first day but it was atleast satisfactory. My suggestion for the breakfast buffett is to make sure there are lots of highchairs available for morning service. I saw other parents also similarly struggling with babies on their laps and trying to manage without one. Please, just bring them in from the other neighbouring a la cartes. It would be so appreciated and make for happier guests. The food selection at the breakfast buffet is incredible. Tons of your standard fare like eggs (omelettes made to order, potatoes, pancakes, toast, sausages bacon etc but also more unique mexican dishes which we loved. Also tons of variety for the kids in terms of yogurts cereal fruit so youc an pick up some stuff to keep in your fridge for later or just pack some apples and bananas for snacks. The Churro's were my favorite and I had them daily - they had dulce de leche, leche condensada and chocolate to top it with. And we found we didnt like the coffee in the buffet but we always went to the lobby bar after breakfast for a cappuchinno or latte from their espresso machine there. That was delicious! Al La Cartes: Im gonna be quick because this is more a matter of taste than anything else. ITALIAN: this was our least favorite. It didnt help that the red wine they poured had gone bad and was actually vinegar. ASIAN: incredible. the sushi was actually impressive which has never been the case for us at any all inclusive asian inspired restaurant. MEXICAN - our absolute favorite. we went twice. You must get the tableside guacamole because it is life changing. Also if you have the opportunity to try the incredible flaming spanish coffee it is quite the spectacle and absolutely the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Everything here is delicious. RIbs and MORE - it was so so. the beef is different than what we are used to back home in Canada. That beign said the sides were incredible (the mashed potatoes and fries were awesome). We had the t bone and the fillet mignon. Both were pretty fatty. I also got a terrible stomach ache after eating here so that sort of cut my evening short. Seafood restaurant - Also one of the other least favorites. We didnt really enjoy anything we ate here. Kids club and features: Kids club: The girls at the kids club are amazing. To be honest they might come off a bit standoffish at first but i think its because they take their jobs very seriously. They are handling some precious cargo. They ask for your passport the first day and thats it. But you do need to sign in and out daily. Our toddler only spent 3 mornings there and 1 hour each day. Because was not yet 3 he was in the "baby club" which meant not alot of outdoor activity and mainly stayign in doing arts and crafts and playing with toys. Hence why we only dropped him off for an hour each morning. It was our routine and he enjoyed his time there. He got to play with some friends (its busy in the morning there!) and me and my husband got to have a coffee, go to the reservations desk to book our dinners (FYI the app didnt work for me so I had to go daily each morning to the desk to book it which was fine no big deal), walk around with the baby and just enjoy a bit of a break before we hit the pools and all that. At the a la cartes they have a kids menu. Our kid would order somethign from there but usually nibble on our food as well. The kids menu is pretty straight forward kid friendly food but dont expect anything nutritious its all fries and sandwiches burgers chicken nuggets soup quesadillas etc. We made sure he ate some of our food. food menus BABIES FOOD - there is a baby food menu from GERBER. ask for it! dont know why they dont advertise it more but so many parents with babies would love to be offered that when they sit for a meal. I would occassionally order half an avocado (aguacate) for my baby at certain restaurants and that with some pasta and ham and he was a happy camper. SHOWS: They have 2 shows. an 8pm kids show and a 9pm adult show (which kids can hang out for) and then a followup themed dance party in the main show are which is almost like a whole other show where you can participate and dance! These guys are incredible. We didnt get to see all the shows but we saw the kids mini grease show which we all loved, the alegoria (AMAZING!!!), half of the Rock of Ages Show, some other random kids show I cant remember which was OK, Burlesque (SUPER SUPER AMAZING!! beware there is a bit of adult content and violence but whatever my kids are too young to understand - but do know this! Regardless the show is incredible and beautifully choreographed and world class!) The Latin Show (also fantastic great music and dancing!) and we saw DREAMS. which was okay and more of a cirque style performance but it wasnt our favorite. We hung around later some nights for the dance parties and the performers and entertainers from the show come out and mingle. They got a kick out of our kids and loved dancing with the baby and my toddler just loved watching them. My toddler loved comign with us and watching the shows and would pass out so hard after a night of partying LOL! Make sure you have a stroller so they can have a place to sleep if they get tired. Okay so I think ive rambled enough. Overall I absolutely loved this resort and thought it was such a perfect family friendly place. When you looked around the main pool you saw soooo many young families like us hanging out drinking beers, cocktails, socializing, kids playing and mingling together. it was a very good vibe all around. we made great friends there and so did our oldest son. With a few of the minor issues I listed up above (hey no place is perfect) I wouldnt hesistate to recommend this to another family looking to travel and get away for a week. I want to thank the staff at Vallarata for their hardwork and some of the highlight staff would be Carmen, Arancia, Jorge, There was an awesome bartender at the shows who always took care of us every evening and I dont recall his name! He was wonderful!!, Alejandro who was a manager who came and helped out out a few nights at the asian restaurant and as well as the dinner buffet our last night. Thank you for the kind and very attentive service.

If this resort is a snipit of what the Palladium chain is like I would like to visit every one of your properties during my lifetime of vacations! I very much enjoyed the 7 days I spent here. The staff is amazing -- Jesus & Caesar & Lizzeth went over & above their line of duty. Juan made breakfast buffets fun. Sadly Omar at guest services was more interested in telling us to download the Palladium app for more information than talking to us directly. Johnny & Javier at the Hemmingway Bar are gems - give them a raise in pay! Martha hosted the excursion tour to PV. Her authentic knowledge was appreciated. The travel club grab in the lobby was not on my list of fun things to do but in the end we made a friend in Antonio & did enjoy the tour of the private side of the property. The adult infinity pool was my absolute favourite place to be most days.

We will be back! We loved almost everything about this resort The adult pool was quiet and the servers were amazing! Shout out to Heriberto and your female coworker we called smiley! The rooms were clean we just suggest not getting an adjoining room or you will hear your neighbours every word (or fight 🙄) The food in the restaurants was AMAZING! I’d like more Options for breakfast but the mimosa bar was a night touch The gym was nice and even though we didn’t bring our kids there were lots of great kids facilities. The nightly shows could use some work but it was still entertaining. Hemingway’s was good, quiet and the servers worked magic with their specialty drinks. We will be back with our kids soon Thank you for an amazing stay

Awesome girls surf trip

Came here April 2018 for 7 days. What an awesome place! Beautiful grounds, pools, beach and rooms with ocean views. There were literally no seagulls or bugs and the private beach was awesome - only a few vendors who get the point and don’t hassle you all day. Tons of seating shade or sun and high frequency of service for drinks (pools, beaches and bars). There is a surf break right outside the hotel so you can watch the surfers from the adult pool, then head down and grab a board and go! Saves the hassle of board rentals and shuttles if we had stayed in town. Good vibes on the water and not too rough for beginners like us. Special shout out to Edar and Victor at the surf shack for recommending us boards and helping us catch some waves! The entertainment was also awesome. The dancers put on a different show each night and we enjoyed all of them - especially the dreams and burlesque shows. The party continues after the shows and the dancers come out in full costume to mingle with guests on the dance floor, with either a DJ or band playing. Food was pretty good, but could be hit and miss as with most places. We LOVED the fresh made guacamole at the Viva México restaurant, and sipping margaritas on the terrace there looking out over the ocean was a highlight. Ribs and more and The Nest were also great! Lots of options at the buffet as well if you have a group with different taste buds. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Over the week we got to know some of the different waiters and bartenders. We especially loved Rusbel, Jesus, Marco, Leo and Rodrigo (and many more whose names I can’t remember) as well as Gregorio at the front desk. In terms of off resort activities, we did Las Caletas which was an awesome full day adventure that included a yummy lunch, beach activities, kayaking, snorkelling and even a zip line and slide into the water. Really high energy and fun staff. The only downside was the boat ride made us all a bit seasick. A cab to Sayulita is around 30 USD and takes about 25 minutes. You can bus there but it takes over an hour and requires a transfer. Definitely worth stopping in there, beautiful surf town with good shopping and awesome vibes. Bucerías is about 10 to 15 minutes away, easy bus ride and is the best cheap market to shop at for souvenirs nearby. Would have liked to check out punta mita and the old part of Puerto Vallarta as well. Would absolutely come back here again for an easy surf vacation filled with delicious Mexican food, yummy cocktails and sunshine. Thanks to all the awesome staff for hosting us and making our vacation special!

My husband and I just returned from the Grand Palladium, April 9 to 16th. We enjoyed every minute. Arriving at the resort, we were checked in right away and escorted to our room. On the way to our room, we were given a detailed explanation of the property, amenities, restaurants, etc. Everything in our room was explained in detail, from temperature control to the safe to the mini bar. The a la carte restaurants were all fantastic; I cannot pick a favourite although The Nest and the Mexican restaurant stand out. The guacamole is custom made at your table. The buffet was also great; lots of choices. The resort is clean and very well maintained; the staff helpful and friendly. The bartenders and mixologists made us some fantastic drinks. I'm fair skinned and appreciated the covered pathways. The entertainment is endless - amazing activity staff - but there was always a quiet corner if that's what you wanted. The saltwater pool is a must-see; we even spotted a whale from the shore. The nightly entertainment was great; very talented performers who also joined the party after the show. We will definitely be back. We miss our morning cappuccino at La Placita.
