Great week

My husband and I just returned from a week at the grand palladium, and we had a great time! This is my 2nd time at this resort and my husbands 1st time. We are travel club members so we didn't experience the long check in process. The food was good at the buffet (MoBay). There I'd something for everyone, even the pickest eater. The food wasn't pipping hot and it was also repetitive but good tasting. The alacarte Resturants were nice but the service was so slow. The jerk hut food was great!! Our room was big beautifully designed and perfect location with ocean front views (villa 32) on the last Hamilton side. The beaches were beautiful. Beautiful clear water, yes there are rocks but not enough to ruin you beach day. We spent almost every day the the beach in front of the members club House where Ricardo was the best bartender ever!!!! We also did the moonlight dinner and OMG so romantic. Our waiter Orrin was great. My only 2 complaints are I wish when booking the dinner the told us we had a choice of times. We did the 8:30 meaning we missed the beautiful sunset. We weren't to that it would literally be on the sand with only us 2 and we felt totally underdressed for the occasion. We have been to the resort in mexico and we had a dinner on the beach but this was totally different. I was also annoyed that they didn't do anything for us for our anniversary. We mentioned it to them and they confirmed with us but nothing. In mexico they had our room beautifully decorated. The resort is HUGE and has hundreds of employees that work extremely hard and they make a little money. Please TIP THEM, we tipped everyone. They need it. If management is reading this please know that we witnessed so many of your guest being extremely rude and disrespectful to the staff. And I mean RUDE for no reason at all and the staff just smiles and says OK or apologies for nothing they did wrong. If your reading this, please enjoy the resort the food and the beauty Jamaica has to offer. Also and most important, be nice and tip your servers, drivers and housekeepers. More>

Amazing holiday <3

We have just returned from a 11 night stay at the grand palladium Jamaica and overall had an amazing time but there was a couple issues hence the 4 star review. I'm going to try and write a really thorough review to do the place justice! Firstly the good, the grounds are beautiful the gardeners are hard at work everyday keeping it looking at its best, they really deserve some credit! Also the food is so good, I really don't know how people can complain there is so much choice, the a la carte restaurants are superb, great service too, you don't feel like your at an all inclusive. The buffet always had lots of choice and the sports bar is good for America style bar snacks, there's also a BBQ on the beach at lunch which was amazing and a jerk chicken hut on a different beach! Also room service is free, we used it a couple of times and have no complaints! We spent most of our days by the adults only pool as we found the main pool very rowdy, lovely staff up at the coral pool though especially marvin the pool boy and joy behind the bar, both lovely people. We were also really impressed by sunset cove beach with the free watersports that is a nice addition! We went to the spa one day and had a couples massage which was lovely, you can barter the sales staff down by the way! The rooms are huge, we had a junior suite which had a big jacuzzi bath in which I loved! We were in block 18 which is the further point away from the centre but only took a couple minutes walk and there's shuttle buses too. Now the not too good/ things to be aware of, one thing that really got us down was the lack of icecream! The only time you can get it is off a guy who comes round with a cart around midday to the main pool or at some of the a la carte, they said there was machines in other parts of the resort but they were never working apparently. Also there was a huge queue to be seated for breakfast and the buffet constantly ran out of things which took ages to get replaced, I think this is due to the fact that the other large buffet restaurant was closed throughout our stay due to refurbishment so everyone went there. We also weren't too impressed with our maid, she wouldn't come until 4.30/5pm despite us requesting a morning slot. We were also missing a coffee jug in the room and asked multiple times and never got one. Now tipping, some staff especially upstairs in the infinity bar expect tips and the service is effected if you do not tip every time didn't really find this anywhere else but there. The manager is really grumpy and will ignore you at the bar and not send a waitress over if you don't tip. Overall it's an amazing resort and we would definitely come back, the issues I've mentioned aren't major deal breakers for us. The atmosphere is just so chilled and relaxing, remember everything is on Jamaican time, relax go with the flow and you'll have a great time ye mon! More>

Honeymoon with an ocean view

We stayed over our honeymoon for a week. The staff was quick & friendly to get us to our room & very helpful. The Jamaica side is supposed not as nice as Lady Hamilton, but its closer to the beach, pools, restaurants etc. The room was nice enough however there were obvious fix its that needed attention. Nothing major, the mirror was covered in a dark splatter & the toilet buttons got stuck. We did have issue with the shower. The door had a gap in the bottom so water would spray out & flood the floor. We rigged it to face the corner & it seemed to work. We had a ocean facing room which is definitely a plus when youre walking around & see how many other balconies you pass. I imagine its much nosier with a garden view. There are shuttles that will pick you up & take you around, but we never used them. The walk to L.H. beach & spa wasnt that far & they had shaded walkways. Room service was decent, we hit that up a few times for lazy dinners or late night snacks. The buffets ran all day in different areas & we only ran into a wait with the themed restaurants one night over a weekend. For the most part you could easily just walk in & get seated. The sales pitch seemed heavier then other resorts. We were asked if we "got our free gift" (some club/timeshare pitch) several times & the spa ladies werent much different. We just avoided that area. Drinks were plentiful, the weather was great & Bob Marley filled the speakers. We had a great time! More>

Beautiful Resort

The Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa is very beautiful. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The junior suites are beautiful. If you are not close to the main building, you will need to take a cart which comes around every 10 minutes. The best restaurants are the steakhouse, seafood and Mexican. There is usually a long wait at the steakhouse, at least 1hr but it is worth it. As a guest of the Grand Palladium Jamaica, you are given access to the facilities on both sides. This is my 5th visit to Jamaica and this is one of the nicest resorts to visit in Jamaica. More>

Keep Us Coming Back!

I believe this was my 10th return to GPJ. I have visited so much I have lost count. This trip we invited 13 of our friends and family. We had an absolute blast with our group of 16! There were many new faces this trip. I am sad to see some of my favorites are gone, but we met many new great staff. I have to mention some people that stood out for me. Kemar (bar supervisor) has been there since our very first visit. He has taken the best care of us from the time he was bartending. Thank you for always making sure our cups are filled and our smiles are as big as yours! Roy (Las Brisas bar) is another long timer. You my friend are always ensuring each guest is enjoying their stay. EVERYONE gets to know Roy at the GPJ. Sunshine (Entertainment) always so welcoming and includes everyone. Some new and semi new people that took great care of us this trip are Big D was FUN (Delmar? at Las Brisas), Taniesha gave amazing service(Steak House) Travis and Chuckie made sure they our friends and family were participating and having a great time (Entertainment). With such a large group we were not able to sit at the bar at the Infinity Bar like we usually do. This trip Jean took excellent care of us and made sure our drinks kept coming. Amoy was so professional and pleasant in Miss Lou's. I cant forget to mention Solomon's jerk chicken. he makes the BEST! There are so many people that helped make this trip so much fun! Thank you People of Palladium for welcoming us like family. We love you and will continue to introduce our friends and family to the people we adore so much. More>
