Disappointed this year that the entertainment around the pool seemed more restricted. Not as lively, no pool parties and music more reserved and quieter. People come to Jamaica for the Jamaican atmosphere, don't let this disappear! Tyson, Nabby, Damoy and Redstripe excellent entertainers and dancers although this year felt they worked under certain constraints. More>

Beautifully Relaxing

This was such a relaxing vacation - I wish we were back there almost daily! The room was comfy, beds amazing. The balcony had a beautiful view. The pools were nothing special, so if traveling with small children, bring some beach toys and some pool toys. I did enjoy the swim up bar, but the pools did not offer a deep end or a dive. The beach was beautiful and we never had an issue with beach chairs, etc... They hotel has a weekly agenda of events so that was cool, always something to do with regards to night life. Take note this location is VERY far from the airport... you go through quite a few parishes to get there. Bring snacks in your airport bag so that you have something to eat on the way to the airport. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR CURRENCY OVER at the airport, its a rip off and wayyyy less than the going rate. If you go on ANY excursions, PACK A SNACK, and dont plan to be back anytime early, your ride to anywhere is forever! The resort does a good job of offering things to do. Make sure you go to the otherside of the resort where you find paddleboarding, etc.. GREAT jerk chicken shack (watch for the bees) and way more lax area, GREAT snorkeling sites... Hope this helps. Went on Sat.18,2016. Most persons wouldn't want to check out when they are in a hotel. I couldn't wait to leave. The food was horrible...there were no day attractions, the service was poor. Up until now my mini bar wasn't stocked More>

Nice girls trip

We decided on Jamaica and the Grand Palladium. Cheap Caribbean secured us a nice safe transfer and they also helped us make reservations seeing that two of us were flying in from PA and one from FL. The reception area was nice. At first we didn't like that we couldn't take our luggage with us to the reception area and then we realized it was safe at the entrance. We dined at the seafood (wasn't horrible but nothing great) Steak it was very good. Something about the desserts is different but still good And we did all of the buffets. We had lunch beside the main pool one day. That was nice that we didn't have to leave our chairs. Oh and the sports bar was good too. Just walk in and grab buffet food if you are in a hurry. Best part.... the staff So nice, friendly. We even had a rain day and they really made it the best day of our trip. Dale in the pool. Red stripe Damoy. How fun are these guys? They love their job Room was great. Always hot water. Red stripe. Bud light water and sofa stocked in the fridge. They left us extra towels and even made up the pull out bed because they knew 3 of us were in the room. We will be back More>

Dirty room - disappointing experience

I don't think the room had been cleaned in weeks. We walk into room 1824, and it smelled damp and musty. The lamp shades were dented, the fridge hadn't been restocked, the toilet seat was visibly dirty. And, there was no separate bathroom...the bathtub was literally next to the bed. Oh, and the bed had a hair on it. I call the front desk, and they offer for housekeeping to come. That won't do anything at this point, so I request a new room. After sitting there for a half hour, still no word. I call back, and they are still looking into it. We get our bags and go back to the front desk because who wants to sit in a dirty room. Our new room is miraculously ready, and it is just fine. I'm disappointed that they actually tried to stick us in that first room. It was upsetting after traveling all that way, and shame on them for even trying. After talking to someone else at the resort, they had the same experience and switched rooms. Very disappointing. We will not be staying there again. More>
