Amazing resort overall; very kid and family friendly

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Resort from December 30th to January 5th. We traveled as a large family, me, my husband, my mother in law and my 4 kids ( ages 8 years to 8 months old). Upon arrival we were automatically upgraded to their Ocean Front rooms, with a simple request. The check in was quick and awesome; we were served cocktails at check in and cookies for the kids. Their rooms are nice and large; the air conditioner worked beautifully; we never had to call to complain. The minibar was always nicely stocked and once the worker saw that we have 4 kids, he always brought us extra water bottles ( a whole case of them to be exact). The resort itself is very large; its 2 resorts in one ( Grand Palladium and Lady Hamilton). We were told that Lady Hamilton is newer, but we were really happy with Grand Palladium, the rooms are large, clean, the premises are also clean and kid friendly; so we didn't even look elsewhere. There is a lot of walking involved, since the property is so large, but there are always carts riding around offering a ride around the resort, free of charge. There are 17 bars at the resort including swim up bar, 7 Ala carte restaurants and 3 buffets and that is just at Grand Palladium. One of the buffets is an outside Ocean View Buffet; but awe always ate at the indoor air conditioned one; simply because it had the most variety and selection of food and it was nice and cool there. We tried all of the restaurants for dinner; the top ones are the Italian, Jamaican, and the Steak House. We live in NY so we get to eat delicious food daily, and let me tell you, that the Mexican is pretty bad as their guacamole is liquid, and their chicken and shrimp are bone dry as they are very overcooked. The Asian Restaurant we didn't like simply because we got a waitress who was pretty rude to us, and simply kept taking glasses from our mouth to refill as we were still drinking and plates from us as we were still eating; but the food was also OK; yes just OK. The sushi lacked flavor and they got petty, and gave us a hard time when our kids asked for a second order of a Philadelphia roll. The resort has an insane number of pools; two kid pools adult only polls and a huge general pool with a swim up bar. They even had a chef walk around with a hot dog cart around the pools, offering fresh loaded hot dogs to the guests during lunch time. The New year even celebration, the resort went all out to make it special; they had a gorgeous Gala dinner and then a live concert with fireworks at the beach. My kids loved the Kids Club; they never ever wanted to leave. The kids Club prepared daily performance shows for the kids, where they rehearsed daily with costumes with the kids for the 8 pm show. During the day they made pizza, and decorated cookies and even went to swim in the pool. As a parent I was very impressed; and especially when my kids who are very attached to me never wanted for me to pick them up because they loved it so much there. Overall the resort is very nice, clean, organized and the food is very nice. They had a nice, large selection of fresh food daily, with a new selection daily. I would definitely recommend this resort for families with kids and I would return here in a heart beat.

We have been here FIVE TIMES

This is an exceptional all inclusive because the food is actually good! Buffet is great, specialty restaurants have greatly improved and the Jerk Shack at the beach is a MUST TRY! Location is good, about an hour from the airport and about an hour to 7-Mile Beach. The pools are fabulous - main pool is SO huge and they have a kids pool and other pools scattered over the large property. THREE separate beaches (unreachable to people trying to sell you stuff by the way). Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We love this place and highly recommend it for your Jamacian trip!

This was our 3rd trip to a Grand Palladium (once in Dominican and twice in Jamaica). Both of our trips to Jamaica Grand Palladium was AWESOME! We absolutely love this resort top to bottom. I've been to many different all-inclusives but this one is top notch. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the beds are super comfortable. The steak house is amazing and the buffet never disappoints. The morning buffet has the best bread and pastries that they bake on-site. They asked us what they could do better and the only thing I could say was that the Nutella was out at the breakfast bar, and the next day it was stocked full! They ran out another day, and the lady told her manager who then instructed her to get some from the the other buffet. You see... even the small things like Nutella they bend over backwards for. TOP NOTCH staff from check in to check out. Movian at the front desk is one of my favorites. She's so friendly and always goes over and beyond! I was telling her that I was worried about packing my rum I bought home, and she came out with papers to wrap them and a box to secure them! Movian has been a great friend since the first trip, and it was so nice to see her again. Great friends are made here that eventually become like family! All three of us in our group had a massage at the spa, and it was divine! The spa is gorgeous and once again, the service was A+. The beach was so relaxing. Beautiful water and if you bring your snorkeling equipment, you'll find a large rock formation that has lots of sea life and fun things to look at. They had jerk chicken out by the pool/ beach area everyday which smells amazing and hits the spot every time. One of tthe days they had a steel drum band by the pool which was fun! The New Years Eve celebration was over the top fun. DJ plus a live band with a count down to an amazing fire works display. Definitely a night to remember! We'll be back next year Grand Palladium!

My kids and I just returned from our very first trip to Jamaica. We have been to many destinations and I have to say Jamaica has been the BEST! We stayed at Grand Palladium and found the resort and the employees absolutely amazing. The beaches, the pools, the food, the entertainment was outstanding. There was one entertainer Spade 45 that stood out from the rest. He was a dancer, instructor, coordinator. He was absolutely something I have never experienced before. I watched him as he danced, interacted with all the visitors, made everyone laugh, made sure there wasnt a dull moment in his presents. There was one time he chased and goofed around with a child on the dance floor making his vacation something to remember. It was hard to take your eyes off him when he was around. I highly recommend this resort, my boys and I had a vacation we will never forget.

Pros: - Resort staff are all beautiful and friendly and professional - Super large room & massive swimming pool - Amazing water pressure in shower!!! - Lots of different beaches, lots of hiding places right on the ocean or by small, quiet pools - Poseidon restaurant had beautiful view of sunset cove & nice decor, as well as excellent food, perfectly prepared seafood. Try the crab cakes! We ordered more! - Italian restaurant: good salad bar with Caesar salad, smoked salmon, caprese salad. Also great tiramisu. The Antipasti course is small:3 fried squid and 2 shrimp on substandard risotto. Good pork cutlet & leek soup Excellent service (Thank you, Barrington) - Great coffee (Americano) everywhere. Cons - Aggressive sales pitch from the moment you arrive by the Travel club and AmStar. AmStar told us we had to meet with them at 9:30 on our first full day to find out what time our return airport shuttle would pick us up. We refused. On the last day, when we asked what time the pick-up was, Deneesha blamed us for not doing what we were told. We had pre-paid for the shuttle and I find this scolding really inappropriate. When I told her I'd complain to our travel agency and to Tripadvisor, she figured it out. We did have to go to the airport 4 hours ahead of time, even though we were the only ones on the shuttle. - Mexican restaurant: steak was tough & full of gristle. It was a new York strip, seemed not properly butchered. - Shower leaked out into the bathroom. We just put towels on the floor. - Very bad acoustics within the guest buildings. Rooms are laid out with 3 interior balconies around a decorative pool with an open roof. Sound carries SO loud that every closing/slamming door or people talking sounds WAY louder than it is. Having had a poor sleep one night (noise & not feeling well), I tried to nap the next afternoon. Too noisy again because of housekeeping people talking (shouting) on the upper floors! - Crickets! The loudest ones I've ever heard. Constant chirping from dusk til early a.m. Glad I had sleeping pills. Light sleepers: bring ear plugs - Smell of pot is in the air. Not everywhere, but it's here. - No adult non-alcoholic drinks. A near-beer or non-sugary option would be great ** dress code not a real concern. We saw flip flops on men & women in all a la carte restaurants as well as jeans, running shoes & logo t shirts
