Nice resort people were great , food was good. But I would LOVE give a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Candy in the activity & day care department she 's amazing . So thoughtful and professional always with a SMILE . I never once saw her not happy . You can tell she ENJOYS what she does at the resort . Also , thank you Kemoy in housekeeping. He made sure that our room was kept clean and well stocked . I recommend this resort to others but be sure be sure to look up Candy while you are there. My sister & her family plans on going to Jamacia in November.

THE ONE AND ONLY BELLHOP!

I want to thank the BellHop (Vevon Haye)for his great hospitality and professionalism. Once we checked in Vevon assisted us to our villa and went above and beyond from there with a smile. He left no stone uncovered! Ones first encounter is a true reflection of the company and Vevon represents the Grand Pallidum (Jamaican and the Lady Hamilton side) very, very well. I checked out Saturday, 9/9/2017 and had to return due to the flight being cancelled for two days(of course the accommodations had to be paid out of pocket ;-( ). I have to say that meeting this polite young man upon returning to the resort lessened my stress. There is nothing like having someone that can truly radiate positive energy. I pray that he is blessed; he deserves the best!

I’m not sure where to begin, but here goes…… Upon arrival to Jamaica and after we picked up our checked in luggage, We were finally approached by someone who took our name and said that the car would be available soon. After 40 minutes of waiting, we were called to a VAN (which seated about 40 people). We were the first in the VAN. We were told that more people were coming and we needed to wait. We waited for the entire VAN to be filled before being shuttled to the resort. This is where our near death experience got really scary! On our 1.5 hour drive to the resort, our driver almost ran over a cow, a goat, and a woman. We were all sick by the time we arrived at the resort. We are now trying to keep track of our luggage that is being pulled off the VAN and put in an area off to the side. There was no guidance as to where to go to check-in. The lobby was complete chaos. No one was polite or helpful….we stood in a line for 30 minutes and finally made it to the check-in counter. The woman checking us in had no customer service at all and never smiled. It was as if she hated being there. All of our questions were abruptly answered. We asked to be upgraded to a Water View Room. She said they had a room available that had recently been upgraded on the Lady Hamilton Side. It was an additional $400+. We had two rooms booked for our trip, so we upgraded both rooms. We were than informed that she did not have a key to the Lady Hamilton side and that we needed to go there to get a key to the room. We were made to where a wrist band as if we were entering a concert for the entire trip! We began working our way to the Lady Hamilton side of the resort which is about 20 minutes away from all activities. The bell man asked for our room key so he could load up our luggage and take us there. We told him we did not have a key. He said he could not take us without a key. We went back to the check-in and after another 30-40 minutes of trying to get someone to get us a key, we were finally in the room. All of the buildings had a water fountain with foliage in the center! Guess what? Ours was not working. It looked like a dirty mosquito pond. There was an ice machine that was dirty and broken. Now let me describe the room. This was an Water View Upgrade. Our view was a view of the building across from us and if you stood high enough, you could see over the trees and shrubs to see a little bit of the water. The room was extremely dirty. There was sand and food on the floor and under the bed. You could see the outline of where a drink sat on the dresser and coffee table and bathroom, that had never been wiped. The shower caulking was full of mold. There was hair in the tub and sink. The sheets smelled dirty. Everything we touched was oily and felt dirty. After several attempts to reach the front desk on the phone, someone finally answered. We asked that the room be cleaned. We were too exhausted from the initial hassle to ask for another room. It took the maid about an hour to show up to clean the room. We decided to take a walk through the resort to get familiar with where things were. We noticed that walking through the resort, the staff was not friendly at all. We walked to the large pool that looked really nice. We decided to grab some chairs and sit by the pool for a bit. There was a bar in the pool that was very crowded. They were playing loud music that was definitely not “kid” appropriate. The bartenders were yelling and drinking with the people in the pool. All we wanted to do was have a drink and relax. This was by far NOT relaxing. We also noticed how much the pool needed to be repaired. The pool tiles were falling off in many areas. We saw a pool tile stuck to a man’s arm when he was getting out of the pool. We decided to go to another area of the resort where it may be a little more quiet! We found a beach closer to our room that seemed nice. We decided to grab a couple chairs and try this out. It didn’t take long to figure out that this was no different than the pool area. Very Loud inappropriate music. We went back to the room and found the maid was just finishing up cleaning the room, so we thought we get something to eat. Because of the timing of the day, the buffet was closed. The only thing open was the Sports Bar. It was dark and the tables were dirty. We ordered food and waited over an hour to get a burger. Now these next items I mention are Throughout our stay!!….. a) We were approached many times by employees to see if we were interested in buying drugs. This made us feel unsafe. b)unfriendly staff. c) lack off or no towels at the beach or pool. d) Greasy dirty re-used plastic cups that our drinks were served in. e) the buffet plates and silverware were dirty and at times, there were many empty plates and bowls of food at the buffet. f) there was a walking path and a service road that crossed the walking paths where the employees drove cars at a high rate of speed through the resort g)the electricity was out at different periods of time. By day two of our stay, we were ready to come home. We were counting the days. We have done a lot of traveling in our lifetime and this was the dirtiest, most unfriendly place we’ve ever stayed. It was the worst vacation ever. For a nine year old resort, it is very run down. We will never go back. Please take our advice. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING TO THIS RESORT!

VERY DISAPPOINTED

We LOVE Jamaica and have been 6 times before this trip, for the last 14 years we travel a couple of times per year. Me and My husband were taking my brother on vacation for the first time for him to be out of the USA and he is 45. Let me start by saying we always read the Trip Advisor reviews before booking a trip and most of the reviews on this hotel were good so we went with this one. I do not want to take away the good from the hotel, it is very clean and well kept, very large (2 resorts together), pool is beautiful, room was very clean and spacious, food was great and last but not least you must meet the pool bartender Chavel, he is amazing with a great attitude. Issues we had: * 4 out of 7 days they were our of banana's at the resort (reminding you Jamaica grows bananas year round) so they could not make our drinks. We did go speak to the bar manager to discuss not being able to get a drink with bananas and he said their delivery was delayed for some reason but they got a delivery today, the next day still no bananas at the bars just at restaurants. * The beaches they show on the website photos, are misleading and different than the ones you have at the hotel. We were told by many that their beaches are man made! they are very rocky, small and not near as beautiful as other hotels with natural beaches in Jamaica. We seen post about they snorkeled all day and beautiful beaches, we were very surprised when we seen the difference in what it was! * There is no bars in either of the 2 lobbies, the only place you can get a drink during the day is out by the main pool, the bar over the main pool area or you go over to the other resort Lady Linda and go to the sports bar. The bars near the lobbies or the other poos are all closed till the evening, even in the casino. For most people this is a long way from their rooms. *The Jerk Hut is not on your property, it is way on the other end of Lady Linda Resort that you have to get a ride to and from. (some people may not care about this but we love the jerk food and its part of our stay in Jamaica). * We went to the sports bar one afternoon to get something hot to eat, we were told they were out of most of the menu. REALLY! * Alot of the resorts in Jamaica have the workers say something polite to you in passing, such as good morning. We were maybe spoke to 3 times in the 7 days we were there from passing by the workers. * The music at the pool was ok but not played much of the time. (not a big deal for some). * There are no games played at the pool for people to have fun like most resorts here. * Night Club does not open until 11 pm. * We were told none of the restaurants need reservations but when you arrive they are less than half way full and you have to wait approx 30-45 minutes to be seated. If you want to sit at the Hibachi Grill in the Japanese Restaurant you do have to make reservations at Guest Services prior for sure. * Last issue was what ever the maids were using in the showers made the shower very slippery when wet from turning the water on. You have to get into the shower to turn the water on due to the shower head being on the fall wall and its a deep shower. There were 3 of us (my husband, me and my brother) me and my brother took a showers first and i almost slipped and yelled out watch out for the shower its very slippery, my bother said he knows he slipped. When my husband went to take a shower and stepped in to turn the water on his foot slipped out from under him and he fell back, hitting his head on the shower door, hurting his hip and because the drain cover was not screwed down it sliced his foot open. He was bleeding pretty good, I called down to see where the medical office was so we could go get it cleaned up and bandaged. When the nurse was looking at him security came down there, took a report and pictures of the knot on his head, his foot and asked to go back to our room to look at the shower. We told them just for the reason of they need to screw down the shower drain cover so it don't hurt anyone else and for them to find out what the maid was using on the shower to be so slippery. The next morning the shower was slippery again so we put a towel down in the shower each time after that when using it. We never heard anything from a manager checking on him or anything and I thought that was wrong of them not to check on him. I have never left a bad review in all the years we have been traveling and I feel bad for leaving this one but I would want to know these things if they affected me in my future stay. Recommendation: If you want a beautiful beach stay on the Runaway Bay side (East Side) of the island or if your on the West Side go to 7 mile beach in Negil).

Great stay

Lovely hotel with great staff - we had to extend our trip by a few days due to flight cancellations and staff were extremely accommodating! Pools were lovely and lots of nice choices for food and drink!
