My family has their wedding here and it's a beautiful resort but far from my expectations. First we get there and can't check in until 4. Okay that's fine but I get to the room and it's dirty. Like a guest had just checked out. Also it was a single bed when I booked double beds. They then apologized and have me another room but was unable to honor the double bed until the next day. I was okay with that until I get to the room and it smells like sewage. The hotel still couldn't change my room until the next day. So i had no choice but to stay in the smelly single bed room. They did change the room as promised however I didn't get the right room until after 4 the next day. I chose to make the best of the trip. We were out and came back hungry. There was no way to get anything to eat. Now I have been to all inclusive resorts and there was always some way to eat. No we had to wait until morning because we was told that the restaurant closed at 11. This was not an pleasant experience for my first time in St. Thomas.

Hotel was beautiful and staff very friendly but there were several cats walking around the resort especially in the two outdoor restaurants... when we asked we were told they just happen to live on the resort. it made the dining experience not very pleasant

After I booked the trip I read some unfavorable reviews of the resort. My expeditions were low and I was pleasantly surprised. I am a snobby traveler and this resort was perfect. I can't wait to return and am already referring friend and Family.

Found the hotel and room to be better than expected. The amenities were very nice. Drinks and meals were expensive (but probably in line for an island vacation). I found that 1/2 of the wait staff and cab drivers were good and the other half didn't seem to want to be doing what they were doing, which manifested in poor service. This was the most noticeable difference from other islands that I've visited. It did not affect my enjoyment, I reflected the service in my tips and didn't patronize those places where the services were less than expected. Overall, beautiful place with good amenities and I plan on returning.

This was one of the worst hotel service ever! I've called and emailed to confirm our reservation several time. On the day off, not only were our rooms not ready on time but they got the reservation completely wrong. We did not even get the island view that was promised when we booked the vacation through apple. Checking in took over an hour. Check out was even worst! They had charged us a resort fee even though an Apple rep confirmed that fee was covered by our package. It took 45 mins to get everything straighten out. We almost missed our flight. These are a few of the many things that went wrong with our stay at the hotel. The only thing this resort got going for them is the view.

Frenchman's reef exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful and relaxing hotel with service at your fingertips. We could not get over the pool area and the beauty. The staff were always willing to answer your questions, help you with local outings and transportation. They always looked out for your safety. The food good, the cocktails excellent! The location of the hotel on the point guarantees a beautiful sunset every day! We did not miss any! I want to go again next year in January!

The hotel was very large & spread out. The pools are beautiful & never seemed over crowded. The beach had soft sand & it was very relaxing. There are LOTS of stairs to get to the pool, beach or boat docks; fortunately for me I didn't mind the exercise (there were so many stairs, I didn't feel the need to use the fitness center)! My biggest complaint is that on the hotel web site it said scuba was available, but it wasn't. I was told that it was too expensive to insure & they discontinued it over 2 years ago. The main reason I selected the Marriott was because I wanted to go scuba diving. When I was searching for hotels & reading about available activities if scuba was not available, I didn't even consider the hotel. So even though the Marriott was beautiful & the trip turned out good, I would have never selected to stay there if I would have known they didn't really have scuba available.

The staff we're very helpful and their restaurants were equally as good. Pricing for neccessities I thought were alittle over priced as were the bars, otherwise we had an excellent vacation. Thanks to the professional service that we got from our travel agent Chris Cancilla.

This is 2nd year we have stayed at Frenchman's Reef. Not as world class as last year. We got there at 2:00 and check-in is 4:00. Stood in lines with 20 other people groups at desk multiple times until we got a room around 6:00 PM. At check-out the bill had a $30/day resort activity fee (beach chairs, umbrellas, etc). They said this began 11/1/2011 and all travel agencies were informed. They agreed to remove this from our bill. The card listing the details of the resort fee was given to our travel agent - Joyce Robertson, AAA, Chambersburg, PA so that agency was informed. Food is expensive but was good at all restuarants. The buffet at Coco Joe's was excellent.

Stayed here memorial day 2017. I wish I could give 6 stars. When this places reopens you must try the wings and tacos in the local Cafe. The first day of our stay we stuck by the upper level pool. There are two pools one with an infinity edge and beautiful view. Another that is more for children and family's. At night we would venture to the hot tub. Day 2 we walked down to the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was such a pleasant stay. Our rooms were comfortable and beautiful, and the Morningstar Beach was absolutely fantastic. I loved to sit on the balcony listening to the waves. We will definitely be back!

Overall pleased with this property. My room was clean and comfortable and the grounds were very pleasant. I enjoyed the pool area and the spa. The service at the Morning Star beach restaurant was beyond-island-time slow, but the staff at the rest of the property was kind for the most part. I was disappointed at check out time by the front desk staff. I inquired ahead of time about a courtesy room for showering and changing since I had a late afternoon flight and was assured that one would be available. When the time came, there were too many people in line for the courtesy room to accommodate everyone. After waiting for about 30 minutes and repeatedly checking with the front desk, I had to find an alternate solution. The front staff at this point was unconcerned about the guests waiting to shower/change in order to make flights. This was really disappointing as the expectation had been previously set that this would be a workable option. Outside of that, I was pleased with the guest rooms, food and common areas of the property.

Took my 21 and 23 year old son to this report and we really loved the laid back style and the atmosphere . Great service and views and beach right there. Loved it. We have stayed there several times and will always enjoy going back for a visit

Looking forward to going back!

This review is little late in coming, we had the opportunity to stay here before Irma. Hoping to return to this beautiful property once it reopens for business. The hotel was very nice, our room was spacious, clean and had a great view of Charlotte Amalie. Pools and beaches were terrific, lots of steps in this resort so be aware. Restaurants on property were fine and many excellent local options in town which is quick taxi ride. At times hotel did get little noisy and crowded, but we were there in high season. Rooms were quiet and well insulated, it was a great stay overall.
