Loved the dreams resort, was great for families. The staff at the explorers club was wonderful, my kids loved going there. They especially loved perla and Stephanie. Entertainment crew also great, kids loved the foam parties. Pool was great, never had any problem finding a chair. Would definitely return to this resort

The staff overall was very friendly and outgoing. The staff member that stood out the most was Leonel (tennis pro) in the core zone. He gave our son tennis lessons and did an amazing job. He also went out of his way to make sure our boys had fun at the sports facilities like the batting cages, etc.

Amazing stay with exceptional GLUTEN FREE Offerings!!

I went down to Punta Cana for a quick weekend trip, and I couldn't be any happier with my choice of resort. This is about a 40 min drive from PUJ (the airport), so keep that in mind as you make your arrangements. My options were many, but the things I prioritized for the stay were: gluten-free food, on-site entertainment, beautiful beach, and a comfortable pool. It was a plus that Dreams had the Unlimited Luxury package - they really did restock my mini-fridge every day. And we didn't pay for any of it after we left! I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was welcomed with a glass of champagne right at check-in. I was in a deluxe swim out room, which is worth it, since it has its own terrace and two lounge chairs. This means you won't worry about where to put your towel when you go to the pool, and you'll have somewhere to sit and drink your drinks. I have Celiac Disease, so I have to be *very* careful about what I'm eating when I go out, and part of why I chose this resort is because their onsite restaurants label food as gluten free. I ate across the resort and I had absolutely no problem - even the buffet was amazing. I didn't really worry about having to be extra extra cautious with the waiter - just letting them know and having enough language in both Spanish and English to make sure I was taken care of - was good for me. Also, none of the restaurants require reservations, which was great! I had the best resort food I've ever had at Dreams - the food was unbelievably good, and the options *I* had as a gluten-free consumer were more than I've ever been used to having. Also, though I've found that sometimes resorts can water down drinks, this simply wasn't the case for us when we were at Dreams. Even the Piña Coladas were so strong that you could taste the rum! On our very first night, we went to the Dominican dance show, which I assumed was just a show where they showcased Dominican/tropical dance styles, such as merengue, salsa, and bachata. I'm Dominican so I didn't expect to be wowed. However, it was a very thorough history of the Dominican Republic using native dances. They started with a Taino ritual, moved on to an African dance in response to Columbus' occupation of the island, move on to a dance that showcased their fight for independence throughout the 1800s. It went on to touch on the development of music throughout the twentieth century from, from touching on the evolution of merengue and the further development of bachata as a Dominican dance, and of course, paying quick tribute to Dominicans' contribution to salsa. This beautiful display ended with a Dominican Carnaval celebration. I had to detail all of that to say that I did not spend a minute where I wasn't entertained on the resort. This show was magical, in every way. There's something happening every single night that's family friendly! There's a casino in the main building; I meant to go but I didn't have any cash on me and figured it better that way. There were blackjack tables and slots, so get your mini Vegas vacation! Every night, at the Plaza Santo Domingo, there was a live female singer. She sang some traditional tropical music - the entertainment team went out into the audience and grabbed people to dance. The better part? They taught people how to dance the styles, including the children who were there. Down by the beach, there were snacks every day. If you're a pool person and don't like beaches, make sure to go to this one - you can have unlimited hot dogs and hamburgers, all day, or at least, until 5:00. I had a burger without bread and it was delicious! There also was a group of chefs that would prepare some local delicacies as "snacks," -- one day it was a Dominican seafood paella, some potatoes, baked chicken, and a side salad. For clarity, THIS IS SEPARATE from the three meals a day that you have, so you really don't have to worry about anything. Want coffee and a quick pastry (for you non-celiacs)? Then go to the Coco Cafe in the main building - I think it's open all or most of the day, so you never have to go hungry. You can also get pizza until 3 am from the World Cafe and La Trattoria also has some pizza snacks for those who so choose. The pool? Amazing. The temperature was just right and there were never too many people in the pool, which made it easy for us to swim around and play volleyball in the water without interrupting anyone. Also, the pools (2) are loaded with floats that you can use should you want to. The black pool floats were very popular. The pool is good for casual swimming of laps or just lounging around - it's not small, and it's long enough that if you swim, you'll actually go somewhere. Oh, and when you're in the pool, servers come around asking what you want to drink, get you your drink, and deliver it to you. Now, that's good service. I noticed a lot of children while I was there, which is good, and I was curious, so I read a bit about how they cater to families with kids. They have an Explorer's Club for children, so that parents are free to vacation without having to worry about what the children are doing. I don't have kids, but I thought that was pretty sweet, because I know that when I was a child, I was quite a nuisance to my parents as they traveled. They also have a babysitting service for parents who want to have dinner without their kids - so you get your vacation and so do they! The beach is beautiful and well-maintained. You'll see staff picking up trash and recycling all day. The roped off swimming area is pretty small but comparable to what it is at the adjacent resorts. If you walk along the beach, you can see what some of these other resorts look like (Nickelodeon, CHIC, Breathless). There is often dancing by the beach bar and some live bands during the day as well. See - I told you, I was never bored. Of course, to top it off, there was beautiful natural wildlife right on the property - from parrots to peacocks to flamingos to lizards. The monkey that you see roaming around belongs to the photographer with whom he travels - don't be fooled, you'll get charged for that photo. There are excursions locally to places where you can see plenty of monkeys. Book from home to get the most bang for your buck. A few pro-tips: (1) Book the transfers to/from the airport from home. We booked from the US and the rate was significantly cheaper than what was quoted locally by the drivers. (2) Do not agree to a meeting with a hotel representative about a 'free vacation to any of their resorts.' All they're trying to do is get you to buy into a time share. If you're really interested in buying property anywhere in the Caribbean, I suggest a real estate agent rather than resort employees. (3) Bring bug spray. We forgot to pack bug spray and ended up paying what felt like a billion dollars for bug spray at the resort shop. I'm exaggerating, but I hope I've made my point. (4) If the transfer company you hired tries to get you to come to an orientation meeting, OPT OUT, because they're just trying to get you to spend more money paying them for trips off-resort. Just call the company and confirm your departure time. Do not go to an orientation. Book all excursions from home as the price you are quoted will be cheaper than they will be once you're on the island. Really, quite a beautiful resort, with plenty to do for adults and children alike. I would definitely come again!

A Dream Vacation!

We loved our all-inclusive experience from beginning to end! West Jet was very organized and there were no 'bumps in the road'. The resort is gorgeous, the food impeccable. Will definitely recommend to anyone who needs to get away from it all!
