Wish there would've been more entertainment. Would've also liked daily housekeeping services instead of every other day. Otherwise, no complaints. My vacation was fantastic.

My wife and I love Couples resorts. This was our first time at Couples. We were initially surprised at how small the resort was compared to Swept Away, but we enjoyed that it was an older crowd (mostly 40s and up) that wasn't real wild and crazy. We come to enjoy the sun, sand, water and enjoy each other. This was the perfect place. We truly enjoyed all of the activities, watersports, excursions and meals provided. My wife needed some medical care while there and the nurse and doctor at the resort were so nice and professional and took great care of her. It was a great trip. Like everyone, we were sad to leave.

Both my wife and I very much enjoyed our second stay, as we did our first. The service is excellent and I wanted to give special thanks to two of your staff who stood out. Both the trainee, Leonardo, and veteran Ingrid, did an excellent job for us, were very friendly, and represented your resort very well. Please extend our thanks to them. We will definitely return.

We had one very big disappointment this trip ... we were not put in a room category that we paid for! We paid for ocean deluxe which meant partial ocean view however we were placed in a garden deluxe room which had no ocean view at all. The resort was only 35% occupied so this was a major issue for us. I feel the resort owes us the refund of the price difference with the two room categories.

We have made several trip with Apple and this was not up to par. The hotel must have been built in the 60s and has not been up graded since. Tile was cracked paint was peeling. Request took 2 to 3 days to be taken care of. Even a complaint by a number of guests took 3 days and one guest actually following an employee to make sure the common area was takken care of. My suggestion, find somewhere else not couples. For the money you can get much better. We will never go to a Couples again.

Great resort for a relaxing vacation

After visiting Couples San Souci three times in the past few years (2013, 2015 and 2016), my husband and I decided to venture to the other side of Jamaica and spend a week at Couples Negril ... and we weren't disappointed! I know Couples Resorts has a loyal following (it's not unusual to find that a huge percentage of guests at any Couples resort are repeaters!), and lots of people comment that their first Couples resort is typically their favorite. I think that's true in our case, as well (our hearts will always be with CSS!). But, even with that, we had a great time taking advantage of all Couples Negril has to offer! CN is fairly small, with everything (restaurants, bars, beach, pool, etc.) centrally located in the middle of the resort. It was wonderfully convenient that, at any given time, we were only a few minutes' walk from pretty much anything we wanted to do, eat, or drink! The beach is fantastic -- soft sand, warm water, and the opportunity to take long walks along Bloody Bay. The pool at CN is also great; it's huge and provides lots of room to enjoy cocktails (and trivia games!) at the pool bar, play a game of pool volleyball, or just float the afternoon away. We stayed in a Deluxe Garden room (in block #4), and it was perfectly comfortable for our stay. Since we knew there weren't very many rooms with a direct ocean/beach view (given how the resort is situated), we decided to save a few bucks and just go with a garden view, knowing we wouldn't be spending much time in the room anyway – and it was TOTALLY worth it. Our room was clean and relatively quiet (we could hear street noise and the occasional soccer match being played on a nearby field, but only when we were outside; once inside, we didn’t hear a thing). Housekeeping did a great job, and we didn't have any complaints. We requested a top-floor room, and were thrilled that they accommodated us -- we had a beautiful view of the gardens and pond, and spent most mornings sipping coffee on our balcony and early evenings with a cocktail. The food at Couples Negril ranged from "good" to "great," depending where you ate. Everyone's tastes differ, of course, but the bottom line is that we didn't have anything we thought wasn't good. As far as entertainment, they had things going on every evening (the piano bar was fun!), and we enjoyed the spa (the couples massage is a MUST!). We also did the catamaran cruise, which is also a must-do when you're at CN! The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was simply because there were a few small (albeit fairly inconsequential) things we noticed, given the slightly higher price point of this particular Couples resort. We had to get out to the pool pretty early just to get a spot (lots of people saved several “prime location” chairs very (very!) early, then disappeared for the day); when we filled out the card to have various beverages/liquors delivered to our room, it took a few days to get our entire order delivered; room service wasn’t available for our room category; and the check-in/check-out process, while definitely adequate, wasn’t especially personal. Did any of these things detract from our trip? Not in the slightest! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Couples Negril to any couple looking for a relaxing, sun-filled, great vacation on a gorgeous beach with a resort full of fun people. We love the relaxed, non-corporate, intimate, truly-Jamaican vibe provided by Couples resorts, and CN is no exception. (They really do a fabulous job of making you feel at home!) We will absolutely look at returning to CN in the future!!

This was our second time at Couples Negril. It is never less than perfect. This year we decided to take our parents along for their 30th wedding anniversary. Let's just say they were already talking about booking their next trip while we were still in Jamaica. I love everything about Couples Negril. It is a 10/10 in my book on everything: staff, food, restaurants, rooms, property, beach, management, cleanliness, etc. The list could go on. I will definitely, without a single doubt, be returning to Couples Negril for many years to come. Thank you for making my home away from home so special.

Wonderful Stay, But Needs Some Fine-Tuning. What side you stay on is key...

My wife and I were married at Couples Swept away, 5 years ago October 26th. We decided to come back to Couples this year for our 5 year anniversary at Couples Negril. We have really high expectations of hospitality services because we're entrepreneurs who work 7 days a week and own startup companies. When we leave to relax, it needs to be perfect because our opportunities are far and few. I'll preface my review with Couples is an amazing place. They bring the island vibe right into your room and every experience. I prefer it much better over more elaborate corporate resorts. You truly feel like you're at home here. We did get the invite to the returning guest reception but on the two nights that crossed our time there that they had it, we were simply busy doing other things. So we didn't get to really "meet" management or mingle with the staff too much. We wished we would have but you can't do it all. A huge benefit of CN and the reason we booked here is the nude beach. This is truly the gem of this resort. laid back, beautiful, and our bartender the whole week (Celia) was amazing and professional. We found that the other side of the resort was younger/just married couples who were loud, drunk, interested in the pool and games and who didn't care to connect or meet interesting people. We tried... but every time we went back to the nude beach (spent 10 days on it!) and met the most interesting couples from around the world that loved to share their experiences, talk and get to know you. All, of course, completely naked. One day, it rained in the afternoon and the whole nude beach gathered under the bungalow bar in the buff and played music trivia with Sonja - also an amazing employee. (btw.. the only beach bar at this location is on the nude beach). The food was very good at all the restaurants and we tried them all. The only meal that left us both disappointed was our very first night at Cassava Terrace - it was menu selection. I had the beef tenderloin and it was beyond well done and all fat and tendons. I couldn't eat it. My wife had the fish, it was fine. It also took over an hour to get the food, by which time we took it back to the room because we were exhausted from traveling since 4 am. We did purchase a beach dinner one night. Ashine was a server. She was super cute and walked around singing everywhere - you can tell she's got some creative, performer juices in her. She did a great job but the dinner did not go how we expected. Its an expensive dinner and we were looking forward to having quiet time on the beach, alone, with an occasional pop in to see how we were doing. The server was very particular about where she wanted us to sit, and put a speaker on the table with an ipod that was pretty loud with music that was not romantic. We asked her to turn it down so we could quietly talk with each other and change the music. She did it, but looked a bit irritated. She also encouraged us to dance after the meal on the beach which we wanted to do anyway, but it was to the song of her choice - not ours. The experience was nice but whenever we've paid $200+ for a private dinner, be it on the beach or a Michelin star restaurant, the experience has been very intimate and luxurious. It's just our preference - she provided good service and was sweet. Just not the high-end experience we were looking for. THE ROOM. Here's our "complaint". The check-in process was great - the bellhop to our room was professional. The room was 8204 (I think...). this section of rooms was on the east side of the resort closest to the nude beach. Good proximity for where we spent all of our time, but it is positioned as a funnel from the Cassava Terrace stage where they proceed to have live and loud entertainment nearly every single night of the week. The sound and bass run right out the side of the open-air venue and into that block of rooms. We came here for a couples getaway, some peace and quiet and the beach. The first few nights, we got blasted out of our room until 10, 10:30, 11 or close to midnight. Every night was different. To boot, both my wife and I got sick 2 days in a row early on and were confined to the room. This made us nearly check out of the resort and leave. We finally complained, simply to let them know about it, then we requested to move. They moved us to room 1107 which was on the other side of the resort, ground level just across from the spa. Ahhh.. peace and quiet. I wish we would have been there to start with. this is one comparison to Swept Away - their entertainment is all on one side of the resort. this resort has it centralized and it's truly a poor design. I feel really sorry for the people that stay right on top of it 20 feet away. I can't be the first person to complain about this. I know people like entertianment but when paying this much for a romantic getaway, one's room needs to be a sanctuary. From there, my wife and I felt like we were the problem children of the resort having to call the front desk all the time. Everyone knew our names - we left hoping it was because we did a vow renewal and not because we were a pain in the butt. Upon moving to the new room, they didn't transfer the bar items we had ordered. the hairdryer burnt out the first time we turned it on, then the toilet plugged the second day we were in the new room, the old room had extra blankets for the bed or porch - the new room did not. Our first night there, someone entered and placed an "extra" iron on the main counter in the room - we already had one. We stayed in one night and were now missing a corkscrew in the new room. It took 2 phone calls and 2.5 hours before I went to the front desk myself in my robe trying to simply open a bottle of wine. A manager-type woman addressed me and walked away to return about 15 minutes later with a corkscrew. It was a painful experience and we didn't even drink the wine at that point - rather we went to bed. In the morning, there was a corkscrew hanging on our doorknob that must have shown up in the middle of the night. Some days, we'd have 2 coffee packets in our room, some days 1 - other days no sugar or straws to stir. It was very inconsistent. We just had to always call and ask for things. THE SPA We had a great experience at the spa. It was relaxing, well done and the people were fantastic. We had booked a couples massage to be on the beach - it was raining so we did them in the spa area which turned out to be really nice and tranquil with trickeling rain. We did the catamaran cruise. I got sick from the diesel fuel smell the entire time - not Couple's fault, of course, just my own problem. I should point out though if you've never been here that this is a booze cruise, with music, drinks, dancing - not a site seeing tour. Caters to a younger crowd. I'm 42 and my wife is in her 30's - though Jessica did get up and dance to one song, we are already past that type of stuff on a vacation like this and just want a romantic and relaxing experience. Overall, Couples as a company has done a very good job of thinking about everything. Even when we had issues, they were resolved with the same phrase every time "yeah mon, no problem". I can't rank them a 5 though because the price point dictates a more refined experience. The nude beach was amazing - we will come back for this feature alone and honestly spent most of our time there. There is no better feeling in the world than walking into the Caribbean sea naked, holding your wife's hand and swimming in the bath water, bloody bay. This area of the resort should absolutely be expanded to accommodate the want. It was completely full most the time we were there. It did, of course, rain the entire day on our vow renewal. Last time we were hear, hurricane sandy also caused problems for us, so we still don’t have our beach wedding. However the purpose and symbolism of the event was everything we were looking for. In our minds, we’ll just keep trying until the sun shines on our beach wedding. the photographer told us it was showers of blessing :-)

My husband and I have stayed at Couples Negril twice, first on our honeymoon and then again with another couple. We love it so much that we constantly talk about planning our next trip back. The rooms are beautiful and clean. We stayed in a partial ocean view room both times and the location was perfect with basically a clear view of the ocean and a very short walk to everything. The food is amazing and there is something for everyone. We have eaten at most of the restaurants and were consistently impressed, but I have literally dreamt of the beachside jerk chicken. It's incredible. Definitely take advantage of the free water sports. We loved taking the kayaks out and exploring and the snorkeling trip was so much fun. They offer a night snorkeling adventure for those that are braver than I and the photos looked incredible. Go on the sunset catamaran tour, it's our favorite! The crew is awesome, the reggae and rum punch plentiful, and you get to swim from the boat into a pirate cave. It's one of my favorite experiences. We also booked a dinner for two in the treehouse which was incredible and very romantic. They offer tons of fun activities like cooking classes, karaoke night, and trivia at the swim up bar. There's literally always something to do, even if that something is to float in the sea with a cocktail in hand. We can't wait for our next stay!

This was our 3rd trip to CN. We continue to rebook for some special reasons aside from the beauty of Negril. The CN staff are like family! They remember and care about their guests. Some of our special people there are Deston, Akeim, Cleopatra, King Sean, Inylynn, Marcia , Lornelle ( no longer there but a fine young man who stopped by to see us)and Keon. If it were not for their attention and sincere friendship, we would be trying other resorts. Food is wonderful ( but I missed my oxtails and wish they would have them everyday lol). CN is a happy place where guests of all ages enjoy their time and connect to make friendships. There are truly “ No worries”. If I had to suggest anything it would be for extra nights of dancing at the Piano Bar and starting some night activities earlier ; as beach and sun wear us down and many of us have a hard time enjoying the night life. This is home away from home! No changes needed. Love you guys and see you next year. God Bless!❤️
