We were sooo disappointed that the pool wasn't open. WE weren't told until day before that it wasn't open. We probably would have cancelled or pushed back trip. Its important that we had a pool on site that we could go because we had one in our party that has trouble walking. We liked atlantis but also wasn't told so many restaurants weren't open because it was off season. The pool was suppose to be open when we came.

I promised my girls a trip for their high school graduation. After all the research I decided on the Bahamas. Comfort suites was at the top of the list and had great reviews and access to Atlantis resort. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so nice and accommodating.

Where is the comfort at Comfort Suites

Upon arrival I was greeted by a courteous staff member, Angelo who explained the access to Atlantis and the hotel breakfast schedule. As we proceeded to our room a strong smell of Febreeze and Lysol assaulted my nose. I was overtaken by the smell inside of my room as well; yet, I did not complain. The first night I noticed that the tub nor sink drained properly and by the third night I had to call maintenance. There was a three hour wait and I had to delay bathing. This would have been okay had the maintenance guy actually fixed the drainage issue. Nonetheless, while I waited I had to endure constant running overhead at 10:00pm at night! So, I tried to watch television only to be told by my niece that the television was preventing her from sleeping. I really believed this was a one bedroom suite with a separate living room area. However, I discovered that it was not a suite but an efficiency. What a disappointment especially since I have a timeshare and could have made other arrangements. This is an experience I will never forget for all the wrong reasons. I hope that the general manager will consider removing the carpet from the hallways and redesigning a few room to actually be a suite! Yes, I would pay more to stay in a hotel that is supposed to provide comfort from a long day of activities!

I did have some reservations as to whether we had chosen the right hotel for our trip. But from arriving at the airport, with transportation to the hotel, and early check-in, everything was beyond expectations for us. Great friendly service, above and beyond. Being vegans in the Bahamas is a tough call, but the hotel/restaurant staff made it a pleasure. We never used the pool here, but the facilities are really good.

The location was great. We were comfortable at this hotel. The dressing area could be larger that would be my only complaint.

Comfort Suites - Paradise Island - wonderful experience

We had a great time and loved the hotel. Had read reviews and didn't have any issues that folks had reported. We found all of the staff very professional, helpful and nice. Breakfast at times were busy but we adjusted and went earlier. Water pressure was fine. Very well run facility and well kept. We absolutely loved it and would go back. I would say our only complaint was that the pool water was too warm to our liking but there were certainly plenty of pools to choose from at the Atlantis. Have already recommended it to friends and family.

An overall great place to stay

We have stayed here a few times during our visits to Nassau. Each time it has been enjoyable. However, this recent visit, our cost rose considerably. These tourist resorts need to cut back on being so greedy with so many "fees" & "charges". We had planned to visit Nassau in October, however, with these new expenses, we have decided to look into other neighboring islands for better deals. Unfortunately, these costs reflected back as less of a value today than in past visits.

We only stayed one night before our Atlantis vacation. It’s a great location with privileges extending to the Atlantis resort. The room was big enough with a king bed and a sitting room. The breakfast was very good. The faucet in the bathroom was very squeaky (loud enough to wake me). The air conditioner was also very loud all the time. There is some wear and tear in the bathroom. These at all things that can be corrected quite easily. And should be. I thought it was overpriced for the quality but it’s so close to Atlantis; and all the hotels in the Bahamas are not cheap. The front desk staff could have been a little more friendly.

Great Value for Atlantis visit

We are so glad we booked Comfort Suites (CS) for our Atlantis vacation! After reading the reviews of Atlantis hotels, we decided to go with CS since we got a ridiculously cheap rate for a king room directly thru Comfort Suites (with free cancellation a few days prior to our departure.) Breakfast was decent and fridge in room was very handy. Room was decently clean, comfortable bed and kids said pullout was perfect (but they are 6 &8). We didn’t feel cramped except when everyone had to use bathroom at same time. (Yikes!!) Everything was working in room and in good condition. Some of the furniture was worn or lamp shade stained but at least we weren’t paying $400/night like at Atlantis!! We had one evening with low water pressure as I think everyone was showering at same time before dinner...who knows. There was no loud hall noise at night and we didn’t care about our view which wasn’t awful. We had connecting door and didn’t hear anyone. We were on 3rd floor opposite side to Atlantis but we figured out just go out main entrance or side exit and downtown street vs following signs on 2nd floor which was twice as long from our side of building. The most direct walkway to Atlantis is blocked off so you still need to take same sidewalk to cross street to Atlantis. That was a bit frustrating. There was a musty smell to room but wasn’t terrible and assumed it was just from AC going non stop. I would NOT stay on second floor..hallway did stink terrible like rotten food as another reviewer commented. Elevators worked for us...and housekeeping was great and left us little notes thanking us for our tip etc. Money saving tips: Do a stop from airport to pick up beer, case of water and snacks. Will be cheaper than shops across from CS. Bring some (US) quarters and laundry soap/dryer sheets. Pack less clothes and more bathing suits. Just do a wash there especially if u have young kids. The dryer came in handy for our wet things. Use later in night or very early as there is only 2 washers/dryers for hotel on 3rd floor. Check on cost of taxi from CS to airport. We had a pre-arranged round trip service but I’m guessing a taxi from hotel might have been cheaper. Plenty of taxis on hand at hotel. We found everyone NOT associated with Atlantis were friendly and helpful including the team at CS. (A couple waitstaff at restaurant came across rude) however I think culturally there might something that comes across as rude but not intentional...we did a private boat tour with a local guy and found he was treated the same way at a restaurant when we were ordering...not personal. A taxi driver told us he went through communication training and was taught about body language and looking people in the eyes etc etc...so don’t go expecting big smiles and big laughs and small talk. We’d probably stay here again as it is much better value than Atlantis even though it’s a bit of walk to the water park. We saw lots of young family with strollers. We did take a taxi twice from Atlantis (far end) when kids were tired out. (Mom/Dad tired of lugging stuff)

Not as good as previous times...

We are repeat customers to this property so we know it well. We were disappointed with our experience this time. The toilet in our bathroom was broken (handle barley hanging on and constantly running) and there was a strong musty smell. We put up with it at first and then called maintenance after day 2 when the room started smelling worse. They came and tried to fix the handle and then when they left, water started dripping from the shut off valve. I put towels under the back to catch the water. I asked to switch rooms and the front desk said they didn't have that ability and that if maintenance couldn't fix the toilet then she would talk to management (so if management can do something, there are other rooms available!). It took some back and forth, but they finally changed our room. The new room didn't smell, but it had a loud AC unit and the towel bar in the bathroom kept falling off. Also, the elevator was out, we found that out after we dragged our luggage down 2 hallways to get to it. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was out. For two days, we couldn't access the third floor from the back stairs because the card reader wasn't working. We ordered lunch (burger and club sandwich) at 11:30 AM one day and it didn't arrive until 12:40 PM and the burger was underdone, so it took another 20 minutes to cook it more (and I got it back with the same fries, now cold, that it originally came with). I spoke with a manager to express my disappointment and she took my name and room number, but did nothing to credit my bill. They have made nice improvements to the pool area with new tiles and new lounge chairs, but the tiles are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY when wet. I watched a woman fall flat and hit her head as she was walking to enter the pool. They do have signs up about it being slippery, but they may want to consider doing something to it so it won't be so bad. While we like the location, the free breakfast and the access to Atlantis, I don't think we will go back based on this experience.
