Casa Dorada is perfect for couples/families

Casa Dorada is great. Upon arrival, they didn't have a room for our first night, so they put us next door at ME Cabo. beautiful rooms, but wrong atmosphere for us (loud electronic music). When we returned on the second night, we reafirmed that Casa Dorada was the perfect choice: great pool service, lovely rooms and amazing staff. To make up for our troubles, the staff gave us some complimentary items and we left happy. Granted, having had the purchased room (and hotel) from day 1 would be ideal, but they made up for it. Would stay there again if returning to Cabo.

Beautiful Hotel but....

The Casa Dorada is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are spacious with wonderful views. The location is prime to everything!! Just a few things really rubbed us the wrong way. Upon arrival we were briskly handed off to a guy who presented himself as hospitality/activities person which quickly turned into a timeshare push and pressured us to come to a "special complimentary breakfast" to see what all of the resort and ownership had to offer. He said it was going to be $20 to pay for the breakfast and hold our spot. We quickly told him we weren't interested and he said "well is it because you don't have $20?" RUDE!! Another incident was on the beach and the manager came up to us and said "our security camera's saw you go to your room and return with a bucket a beer, you have to buy beer from the beach staff, that's our policy! I quickly told him that we did purchase our beer from the pool bar and showed him our receipt and stated what he SAW was my husband filling up our beer bucket with more ice from the first floor ice machine. It was very rude and he was VERY mistaken on what was supposedly "security cameras"! Didn't happen. Anyway besides those two incidents, we had a wonderful time and all the staff besides those 2 people were absolutely charming, sweet and eager to please.

Was told at check in that the hotel was intentionally overbooked. Although we were offered a room at another hotel (penthouse) we were not happy that after we had paid for our room months in advance that this could happen. We stayed at this hotel in October 2013 and loved it so much we booked it again within a week for March 2014.

The hotel, staff, food, bar, spa, etc. were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel but caution you going during Spring break unless you like teenie boopers as they crowd the restaraunt on the beach which is located directly next door to the hotel. This has no bearing on the hotel, just the time of year. As a matter of fact the Mango Deck, next door, is also excellent for their quacamole, staff, and entertainment.

Liliana did a great job of helping us through the entire process, including even scheduling the taxi from/to the airport. I highly recommend her for your trip. I will certainly use her again in the future.

Great location on Medano Beach, have The Office and Mango Deck right there in front of the resort, plenty of other beach bars all around, the marina is an easy walk down the beach, and the glass bottom boats are right there to take you to Lovers Beach! The pool and enjoyment area at Casa Dorada is really great and the service is always easy to find and very friendly. Highly recommend Casa Dorada!

Nice experience and would stay here again

Overall, the our stay at the Casa Dorada, Los Cabos was lovely and situated on one of the only swimming beaches in Cabo. This was a HUGE plus since we've stayed at many hotels in Cabo and most don't have a beach. In terms of location, the beach is excellent. However, it is located next to/on top of Mango Deck, a notorious party spot. This means that there will always be music blasting all day and night with tons of drunk people everywhere. It's a bit disruptive if you're not prepared for it. That being said, we hung out on the far other end of the property so we stayed clear of the majority of the sound and debauchery. Our room was large with a big bedroom and separate living area (Junior Suite). The best feature was the outdoor patio with comfortable seating. The service was overall average. We had some confusion around check in and the front desk in general, but overall, the rest of the staff was very kind and always trying to help. Tipping at this resort also went a long way to ingratiate us with the staff. Tipping was clearly expected, unlike many of the all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed at in the surrounding area. Pro tip: Take out cash before you get to Cabo. We always take between 50-100 USD depending on the length of a trip just in tip money. Trust me, you’ll notice a difference in service at some of these resorts. For those who aren't as into the beach, the hotel has a beautiful pool overlooking Medano beach and full poolside service. The property is within walking distance to a number of fantastic restaurants and bars, which is fun as you get to explore the surrounding area. They also have a great happy hour (buy 1 get 1 free!) at the beach/pool in the afternoons. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The prices are reasonable enough that you don't yearn for the all-inclusive experience when you are on property. The rooms are a great size and you can really enjoy and relax on your large outdoor patio. For a full review, check out our blog post at voyagerguru . com

Casa Dorada is a wonderful place to vacation. We honeymooned there and they were gracious and lovely in every way. While near a loud bar, it is also close enough to great restaurants and the marina to walk if you are inclined. There is currently a bit of construction a block away but it is not on Casa Dorada’s property so they have no control over it. Just mentioning it in case you are looking for quiet. You certainly can find it here, just not near the pool bar or Mango Deck - stay further down toward the north end where the music is more subtle. But if you want a party, you can have that, too! It’s both large enough to provide for the needs of many and small enough to cater and provide shorter walks if you don’t want to use a map to find the pool or beach or restaurant! While it can be a challenge to find a lounge chair at certain times, the staff are very helpful and willing to move chairs and umbrellas to accommodate your needs. All the staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. While this is a timeshare, we politely explained our time was intended for our honeymoon and that was the end of the conversation- no high pressure tactics as I have experienced elsewhere, so very much appreciated this time. Great staff, great location, and great food and drink - highly recommend!

Great stay despite a problem

Excellent beach front hotel located close to the centre of Cabo and its bars and restaurants. Facilities are modern and well maintained. We stayed in an Executive suite which was bigger than we needed really but was nevertheless impressive. I think all the rooms have a view of the pool although the higher up you go the better view you get of the ocean. Staff are friendly and helpful and despite a problem with work going on overnight one night I would still back. It was only this that prevented me from scoring the place 5 star. The overnight issue was dealt with very sensibly by the reception staff the next day and there was no drama about it so in that respect it was reassuring. I've stayed in Cabo a couple of times and this is by far the best place I've stayed and by comparison was great value for money. I'll be going back next year and booking the same hotel.
