Disgraceful service
Cancelled holiday one week before planned arrival, apparently going through refurbishment. Seems surprising an entire renovation wasn’t known more than a week in advance.. complete lack of care for customer service and how this last minute cancellations and ruin special holiday plans.

Not Just an Inconvenience — A Safety Concern Ignored
⭐☆☆☆☆ I stayed at Waves Hotel & Spa, an Autograph Collection resort, from July 13–18, 2025 with my young children. On the first morning of our stay (July 14), we had no running water in our room for a period of time. When the water began to return, it came out pulsing, brown/yellow, with debris, and was unusable for drinking, brushing teeth, or showering. As a parent traveling with small children, this was extremely concerning — especially as my 6-year-old noticed the water before I did, and I cannot be sure whether she or my son came into contact with it. What troubled me most was not just the water issue itself, but how it was handled: • No one from the hotel contacted us proactively or offered bottled water until much later in the day. • I had to call the front desk multiple times to even alert them to the issue and request water. • If the hotel truly believed it was an “isolated” case, they should have moved us to another room immediately — but this was never offered. • Instead, management minimized the problem, provided spa vouchers and champagne (which were meaningless as a parent with kids), and eventually offered a 20% refund (about $1,000 on a $5,200 trip). To me, this is not equivalent to an amenity being unavailable. This was a potential health and safety risk with very poor communication and follow-up. Marriott corporate has since been involved, but no fair resolution was ever reached. Future guests deserve to know that if a safety issue arises here, it may not be handled with the transparency and urgency you would expect from a Marriott property.

Waves Resort
Previous reviews have said that the staff makes this resort. Those reviews could not be more exact. We have traveled to many beach resorts and the staff at Waves are the absolute best. We were checked into the resort by Astrid. What a nice girl. Always smiling and friendly. Jackie is a supervisor who seems to never go home. Jackie was always present, asking if everything was going well. Kenny in the lobby bar was also a pleasure. Kenny always seemed to remember our drinks. From the housekeeping staff to the restaurant staff, everyone was kind and helpful. There are just to many to name individually. The food was good and the resort was very clean. There was no musty smell like many beach resorts. The beach is small and entry to the water is somewhat rocky. We spent a day at Saavy on the Bay. Two chairs, an umbrella and round trip transportation was a mere $30.00. The beach has white sand, calm water with no rocks. A great value. I would like to thank those that touched our life at Waves and made our trip absolutely wonderful. May our paths cross again sometime in the future!

Great Customer Service
Wedding Anniversary that was amazing thanks to the Waves Staff. They really make you feel special. I like this resort because it had a major focus on “wellness.” That being said, they offered healthy meals and drinks. Finally, if you book a minimum of 5 nights, you get 2 free 30-minute massages.

Great holiday!!
This hotel is fantastic. We’ve had an amazing time. We couldn’t have been better looked after by all the staff, but Antwone has been particularly amazing and has totally looked after us, really going the extra mile.
