Subpar service
I am rewriting my review after a reply from this hotel. I wrote a review about a simple issue, not receiving towels and how it was handled. Here’s what happened. We came back after a long day out and only had hand towels in our room. We called down for towels so we could shower. They brought up ratty old musty threadbare towels that were not what they had been providing that week. I went down to the front desk and asked them for new towels. Again brought the ratty towels up. Called down again and they said they would correct it and they never did. We had to shower with hand towels. I did enjoy my stay and many parts of this hotel are lovely. I just mentioned that service should be better for a hotel of this quality. Here’s where it gets weird. We left the next morning for the Loire Valley for a few days and came back to Villa Marquis for three nights at the end of our stay. This was prepaid so not much choice. The first day back, someone from the front desk called up and asked what they could do to get us to change our review. They then said “well we TRIED to help you.” I let us go. I said I was not changing my review and I didn’t want to keep dealing with this. Several more times the front desk (or manager) asked what they could do to rectify this. What would have been nice was an apology. Maybe a bottle of wine. Nothing extreme. But asking me how they could “pay me off” so to speak is cheap and tacky. This week the hotel responded to my original review and said 1. I posted my review on my first night. Not true And 2. I had told them I would change my review. Also not true. Have you read this far? This is ridiculous. Now I will also mention that the first stay we had a room where the shower had rust all over the bottom and the door would not close and the bathroom door jammed and was stuck several times. And that our second stay the light in our bathroom was blinking and never was fixed. None of these were big deals, but should be taken care of in a hotel of this caliber. And the trying to get me to change my review and then the reply here is frankly not something I would expect from a hotel at this level. The customer is always right. Service is the single most important part of luxury hotels. Take your money elsewhere.

Room not ready at checkin time
Decent hotel but room was not ready at check in time and we did not stay at the room we booked with a balcony and instead got a room without a balcony (they claim its larger). Room was clean, linens and towels clean. Breakfast was good. Great location, can walk to restaurants and view the Eiffel Tower. If the room was ready on time, it would have made a lot better experience. Its unacceptable that the room was not ready at check in time.

Terrific location for everything
This hotel, although small rooms and bathroom, was a terrific place to stay! Our room had a balcony which was great for having some delicious French wine after our wine tasting tour. The staff went above and beyond to help us with reservations and recommendations. One of our best dinners was booked by the concierge. Breakfast was nice and the bar/drinks were great. Best of all was the location!!!! So close to everything! We walked to high end shops because I made purchases at YSL and Chanel but also walked to casual department store/mall type shops for my husband to buy a Polo vest as it was cooler than we expected. Close to Eiffel Towel, restaurants, bars, Crazy Horse moulin rouge type show, Siene boat tour etc. great place to stay!

Excellent Hotel
This hotel was perfect for our five night stay in Paris. Loved the location as it is close to many attractions, shopping, and bistros. The room (queen) was small for US standards, but it had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The best part of our stay was the personnel. Everyone from the front desk, bartender, and restaurant were friendly, professional and truly are there to make your stay perfect.

Nice hotel in very good location
Staff was helpful, the hotel itself is in the nice location close to main attractions. Rooms are ok in size as for the Paris standards - they are also quite modern and have all basic amenities. They weee also clean and cleaning itself was efficient, the same goes for the night service.
