    Good, not great

I originally had posted a review stating how disappointed we were with this hotel. I added a couple of stars to my review because they really tried to make things better. I am not sure if renting out the units is so new to them as it had always been owners only that they are not quite sure what they are doing, but we had hiccups. However there are several standouts who made the stay so much better than it could have been. Felix in La Casona and the bar was amazing. Jorge from Flamingos was the best service we have had in a long time. The woman who books the tours with Vallarta Adventures was also wonderful! There were several other staff who helped make our stay good whose names I do not know. Beautiful facilities, just the staff needs some training before I can fully recommend it!

Tainted alcohol at sister property, beware!!

We have been travelling to Mexico for over 28 years and most recently up to 3 times a year. This has been a special place for us, we have brought our now adult daughters with us multiple times but this was supposed to be "our" time. Our trip was ruined however by tainted alcohol at the sister resort VDP. It was a rainy day and we had a late lunch, decided to head next door to see if anything was going on. My husband had a couple of margaritas and was very soon slurring his words. Since the resort makes you sign for everything you order, I have the receipts and trust me, this was not a case of overindulging, it was most definately bad alcohol! I had to help him get back to the room in the rain. Our room was in building 3 so it wasn't easy but I did it. I watched over him for a few hours and he seemed to be sleeping okay on the pull out couch and all seemed okay so I went to sleep. A couple hours later I was woken up by the doorbell, my husband was outside the gate covered in blood with blood all over the floor! I called for help and an ambulance was sent. His pupils were extremely dilated (over 5 hours since we left bar), his vitals were not good. He had a broken nose from falling on the wet tile outside the room from the rain and our room was on a bit of an incline due to the location. He was taken to a hospital in Bucerias where his breathing rate dropped from 99 to the 80's over and over. Please note, our physician at home said that dilated pupils and breathing changes that drastic are from being given drugs or bad alcohol! We spent 2 nights in the hospital in Bucerias getting well enough to take our flight back on Thursday. I notified the US Consulate in PVR day one of his hospital stay. The State Department also reached out for more information as to the bad alcohol. I am hoping they are doing something to research so others don't go through this horrible nightmare that we had! I am still traumatized by what happened. Upon checkout nothing was asked about how our stay was, we were given our final bill and swept away into a cab. I believe that management has changed and the care and service is no longer like it has been in the past. They claim you get a hand massage and welcome drink upon arrival, not true anymore! We did not and saw no one else get this. Not a deal breaker but don't advertise anymore. Also says included is free City or Jungle Tour, not true! I had even asked concierge, which by the way is actually timeshare person that would ask us daily to attend a presentation. I never felt comfortable asking for any information from concierge because it all led to the timeshare question and I never really received a direct answer. Will I ever go back to Mexico, yes but will be very cautious in the future. Read and know all of the signs of tainted alcohol and believe me, if it's happening here you know it's happening at other areas also! Although I can't take back our horrible experience, I can do everything in my power to communicate these problems. I am reaching all media platforms along with many other ways to keep the momentum going. People deserve to know!

Condos with resort amenities and great service

I have been coming to VLE for 10 years. Always with friends or family. Just returned from a 10 day trip and the service has not diminished over time. Esbai, who is runs the pool and beach area made sure that every day our needs were met. Whether it was setting up chairs and umbrellas, getting our food and bev server to our area, helping to connect with owner services, whatever we needed he was able to direct us to get us taken care of. You feel very safe here. Security is very good--tho never had a minute of worry in the area in 10 years. Clean as can be-- never need shoes on this beach. Immaculate. You can walk in the day to the little town of Bucerias for beach side lunch and margaritas (no shoes or coverups needed), and taxi in for a small fee for great dinners. The resort itself has a great pool bar, restaurant, beach service, one fine dining restaurant and access next door at a Sushi and Italian restaurant. The entire staff at VLE is top notch! But Esbai is my favorite and people like him make us come back time and again.

    Complete Relaxation

Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar are superb properties. We found everything we needed on property. Our room overlooked the ocean and we fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves every night. Breakfast overlooking the beach every morning at El Patron welcomed cheerfully by Esmarelda and Magda and served so efficiently and with a smile by Imelda, Pepe and Alfonso. Our only decision for the day was whether we wanted to spend the day on the beach and at the pool with the amazing service we recieved from Esbai Vazquez, Christain, Roman, Josue, Raul, and the pool bar crew Oscar (the new guy), Gabriel (loved his special jalapeno tequila!) and Lucio (the boss with a smile). Dinner at La Casona was alwasy exceptional and made extra special by Edgar, Eduardo, Cinthia, Caolina and Manuel. The spa was excellent as well. I highly recommend this property. We will be back.

    Very nice staff

Felix and Hector are both very kind and excellent servers. Oscar makes a great margarita. Food is pretty hit or miss but we had a few good meals. The beach out front of the hotel is really pretty and great for swimming, waves aren’t too big. Lots of nice beach bars towards Bucerías.
