Jan 27, 2026Great trip away from the colder weather of home.
This was our first time traveling to the Dominican Republic and staying at an All-Inclusive Resort and the first time at a Melia property. We were very happy with the resort itself. Beautiful public areas, our room was wonderful, the beach was great and the pools were amazing. We had a suite overlooking the Kanna Beach Club, which was fine until a conference welcome dinner was set up on the area in front of our room and the music was very loud. We did have to complain about this. We were disappointed in the quality of the service and food at the restaurants. We ate at the steak house, the Italian Restaurant and Flora, the DR one, along with The Lunch Box. The buffet was great for breakfast and lunch but we thought the dinner food was mediocre. All of the restaurants that we went to were the same. The quality of food was just not what we thought it would be for an all-inclusive luxury property. The service in all of the restaurants, especially the buffet was not good at all. The employees did not seem to enjoy being there. They weren't friendly and it usually took 3 to 4 asks before they brought something to drink....even water. The other thing that we were disappointed in was the amount of workers at the resort who didn't understand/speak much English. For this to be a resort where a lot of Americans visit, the English should be understood and spoken at a level that any English speaking visitor could feel comfortable communicating. I do have to mention that our concierge, Adrial, was very helpful and I would give him a 5 star review. The only dinner reservations that he could initially get for us when we arrived was at 8:30. This is too late for us to eat so he worked diligently the nights that we were there to get us in the restaurant earlier, He was attentive and checked in on us daily. Overall, we did enjoy our stay and the property is beautiful, we would pick another resort to try next time due to the service aside from our concierge.

The resort was beautiful and the atmosphere was top notch. My favorite part was renting a cabana beach front. Amanda and Enrique were so helpful and made our stay perfect. The room was clean and comfortable. Room service restocked and cleaned daily. I really have nothing but great things to say about the resort!

Lovely Experience
Everything was perfect, the hotel was very nice, everything was clean. We had a great time. I would like to highlight the excellent service provided by our concierge, Alam Mejia; he was always attentive to everything and always available when we needed anything.

WOW
Everything about this place is 10/10. Absolutely blown away. Our favorite restaurant was Mascalzone. The food was delicious and fresh. Service was top notch Jessica was our server and Milton was the manager that night. Great experience
