Wonderful Caribbean Christmas and New Year
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful Christmas & New Year Family Holiday We stayed at The Club, Barbados (St James) over Christmas and New Year with my husband and our two sons, and it was a truly memorable family holiday. We stayed in the oceanfront suites, which were absolutely beautiful – spacious, comfortable, and with stunning views that never got old. Waking up to the sound of the sea each morning was a real highlight. A special mention must go to Caroline, the manager, who was fantastic. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect and really helped create such a special experience for our whole family. All of the staff were super friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always smiling and happy to help. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice at every meal, and I was especially impressed with the vegetarian options, which were varied and well thought out. The Bajan rum cocktails were perfect, and it was great to have premium spirits included, which really added to the all-inclusive experience. Overall, The Club is a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and feel truly looked after. We made some fantastic family memories here, made lots of new friends and have already rebooked. Highly recommended.

Good experience overall.
Just returned from our first visit to the club and had a nice time. Location is great, although there is no beach at the resort, there are lots of loungers by the pools and along the ocean wall. If you are steady on your feet, you can walk through the shallow water to Sandy Lane Beach, which is lovely. Water shoes are a must for this and you should check the tides for an easier walk through at low tide. You are not supposed to claim a chair before 8 am, but many, many do ...so even at 8:30, all the chairs by the pool already have towels on them. Our week, I would say it was about 80%+ UK, 5% US and 5% Canadian and others. The pool and grounds are pristine. We booked an oceanfront loft room and confirmed 2 days before arriving that it was one with the panoramic sliding windows, only to get to our room with 2 small windows. We had to stay there one night and moved to a better loft room with the sliding windows the next afternoon, which had an awesome view. It was 4 flights of stairs with the last flight being a spiral type staircase, so lots of stairs for these loft rooms. Falling asleep to the waves crashing below. Food was OK, and breakfast was usually the best, most consistent meal of the day. Great omelets & eggs made to order, bacon, fruit. yogurt, breads etc. They do have some top-shelf liquor, and we drink Vodka ...so they had Grey Goose, Stoli, Absolut and Smirnoff. The 4 different bars run out from time to time, but usually good options if you are a vodka drinker. See my pics of the Sunset Lounge bar. You get 2 bottled waters in the mini fridge, that's it...but you can refill them at all the bars. Entertainment was ok, 5 nights of live music, one night DJ and one night Karaoke. Monkeys are around from time to time. I saw a monkey family go by the pool deck 3 times while we were there. The staff were very nice and kind for the most part. We would return next time we are looking for a very laid-back vacation.

Chilled out 10 days
What a gem of a place if you want a chilled out experience with good food and drinks in a great location to local amenities then this is your place. Our last 10 days here have been nothing short of amazing. The highlights have been eating fresh fish every day (we didn't eat the same fish twice!), the drinks are branded even things off the menu the bar staff are happy to oblige to make you and when they saw you had finished your drink the beach bar team particularly just topped your glass up whilst you sat and watched the beautiful sunsets - great service thanks to all the bar so staff! The watersports are all included in your stay and easy to book - the hobby cat experience is one we will remember for ever. Rooms were kept clean and spotless and toiletries always topped up. The management team make themselves available and are also visible which I found very refreshing. The daily activities available on site where great and varied. Rohan is a credit to the team he made aqua aerobics in particular so much fun and every day he mixed it up so it didn't become monotonous. He clearly loves his job. The rum tasting experience was great too. The location is great a walk away is some great restaurants and cafes, shops and even a supermarket with a Waitrose in it! So there's was lots to do outside a stones throw away. During our stay we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary we were spoilt rotten and made a special day very memorable for us. Thanks to the whole team.

Something is off about the staff at this resort!!!
It has been quite a while since I wrote a hotel review but our experience at Club Barbados compelled me to write this review. My wife and I stayed at this resort for 12 nights from 23rd December 2025 to 4th January 2026 to enjoy and celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities. To be fair, the hotel is compact with easy access to everything and the amenities such as pool and sunbeds were good. The meals were OK but became predictable if you stay past 4-5 days at the resort. Perhaps the 2 biggest selling points were the (a) wide range of the all-inclusive drinks and cocktail menu and (b) the great Sandy Lane beach to the left and the other beach on the right towards Holetown and also the beautiful sunsets. However, we found the behaviour and attitude of over 80% of the staff to be horrible and frankly, disturbing. We almost felt that the staff would first profile you then determine whether they would give you good or bad service, even after paying thousands of $$$. The staff did not seem to appreciate that their salaries and wages were as a direct result of us, as guests, chosing to spend our money to holiday at this resort. The staff mainly favoured the returning guests but we fear that once the number of returning guests starts dropping in the future, it might mark the decline and collapse of the resort. A few exceptions were the housekkeping staff, the water activities staff, the morning egg-station ladies and some of the staff at the beach bar, who were genuinely enthusiastic about our overall guest experience. A rough ranking of the staff with the worst attitudes towards us were: (a) The Bajan Breeze food truck staff - The worst of the worst. It was like they totally hated being there and were rude to us and some of the other guests. (b) (Some of) the reception staff - We had probably among the worst check-in experiences ever on the evening of 23rd December 2025 (and we have travelled a lot inter-continentally). The guys wanted to force us to accept a room we did not pay for and honestly we did not like! We were so upset and were willing to escalate to the Barbados Tourism Department the next day for being conned by the resort. The Manager came to our rescue after our sustained complaints and gave us a better room. (c) The dinner staff - We found that over 75% of the dinner staff did not seem very enthusiastic in serving us across most of the days at the resort. After serving our cold water, it became a long waiting game to receive our orders, and some spoke to us quite rudely. At times, we somewhat felt profiled and the staff determined that they would not give us good service. (d) The maintenance staff - On 2nd January 2026, while relaxing on the sunbeds in front of the beach in the afternoon, one of the maintenance staff who was dismantling some of the Xmas/ New Year tents and furniture dropped a table on my foot and almost broke my left ankle without any apologies. The manager-on-duty came and photographed my ankle but was more interested in me filling out the incident report instead of first caring for my leg and forms to be completed later. Luckily, my ankle was not broken. I observed that the staff who dropped the table was unsupervised and was moving the table alone meaning accident risks were high at this resort. The overall manager on duty later came to check up on me and then advised that they could get a doctor if it worsened. Overall, we were determined to make the most of our holiday and maintained our high spirits throughout the 12 nights. However, we believe that in the short-to-medium term, the staff at this resort will be the source of decline of customer loyalty and diminish the numbers of returning guests. They need to know that the hotel guests occupancy contributes directly to their livelihood and they should treat both new and returning guests equally and to the highest standards of hospitality. Bottom line, we will return to Barbados but we will avoid this resort!!!

2 Star Resort at a 5 star price.
The food is very poor. Not only is it the food less than appealing, they have long gaps between breakfast, lunch and dinner with no snack bar or food options. Most of the staff looks and acts completely miserable. Seating was also a challenge. There is a morning fight for good seats by the ocean. On the positive, the sunsets were gorgeous and the drinks were good. We will not be coming here again.
