Great location, clean, seals on the beach!

Stayed here based on a friend’s recommendation and it exceeded expectations! Very clean and right on a beach. More than half the cost of the Grand Hyatt I was considering. This is also centrally located which is perfect for visiting both the north and south shores.

    Disappointed in “Ocean View”

This properties fairly close to the airport, and situated on the beach, although you can’t swim or do any activities from here because of the rocks. I would say this is a solid three star resort. Property is definitely dated, Pool area is relatively small. Everything is expensive as it is all over Hawaii, so nothing new there. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was extremely small and room needs updating. We didn’t see any bugs as other reviewers have reported. Staff was generally very nice. Resort fees high for what you actually get. My biggest complete with this resort was how they advertise their rooms. We upgraded for a “ocean view room“. What we got was a tiny peek-a-boo view from our room, which was toward the very front of the hotel and away from the ocean. We booked a while ago and paid for the upgrade. When we went to ask about possibly transferring to a room with the better view, they told us they couldn’t do it. Be advised if you pay extra for this room this is what you might end up with. They could better to be accurate in their description and call it a partial view or something like that. Anyway, it didn’t set us off in the best frame of mind when we checked in. Wouldn’t stay again.

Nice pool, good housekeeping. Great but expensive coffee shop. Buffet breakfast was fair to medium, especially for $50!

Beds were comfortable beds, However, Noisy halls, air conditioning, and plumbing! You could hear all night and day, showers, toilets, and anything and everything in the halls. Weather was not good, pool not warm enough for conditions, everyone in hot tub!

Nice Location & Outside Space, But Interiors Need Updating

This was our 2nd visit to Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach, the first being in January 2022. It has gone a bit downhill since then. This property gets by because of its excellent location on the beach and close proximity to the airport. On the positive front, the food is generally good and the staff (for the most part) very friendly-- especially the breakfast restaurant team, the hard-working ladies at the morning coffee spot and the food runners at The Crooked Surf. While the outside spaces are quite nice, the hotel itself needs updating. There's plenty of deferred maintenance. The musty carpets in the 1st floor hallways and rooms need to be replaced. The bathrooms require the most work. Our shower did not drain properly, so water filled the tub each time we used it. The fixtures are cheap and the plastic flooring is dated/warping in spots. The bathrooms might be large, but the vanity is tiny, with barely any room for your stuff. If you stay on the 1st floor, don't expect to keep your sliding glass door open because there are no screens and plenty of mosquitos (aided by the drip system/sprinklers that come on with a vengeance every morning at 3 AM). The air conditioner in the room was another real joy: jet-engine loud, with an ever-present ticking sound.

    Great hotel and experience

We stayed here for six nights and they did not disappoint. We were greeted with Pooka shell leis and passionfruit drink. The room was great with ocean view and balcony off the pool. I love the location and the cute little town we were in. They even gave us bikes to use to get around for free. Every day my room was made up with fresh towels. The people here are very warm and friendly and I felt right at home. So on the day of our 20th anniversary. I was so happily surprised to have my bed decorated with a happy anniversary greeting. This was our first time in Hawaii and this hotel was a wonderful experience for us, along with enjoying the live music and Day Break buffet breakfast. As well as all the amenities with full bar and games to play. Sheraton Coconut Beach resort is our is our go to place when we come to Kawai.
