Jan 25, 2026Was hoping for the best in spite of reviews and was blown away.
At first I was worried because I read a few reviews that were not very positive after I had already booked but remained optimistic. Yes you do have to spend a few minutes with a representative trying to upsell when you first check in and I can honestly say that was my only interaction that wasn’t positive. We were very happy that we had booked the secrets side as the pool and rose water restaurant were definitely better than the other attached resorts that we had access to that did not have access to secrets side.it was much more relaxing and laid back. All the employees were fantastic but a notable exception was how exceptional Luis David that provided daily activity’s both in the pool and poolside with a personality and demeanour that were so entertaining he actually was a highlight of the trip and Daniel that looked after our poolside lounges with exceptional attention to all our need to make us comfortable. I have been to many five star resorts and overall I couldn’t believe that this has been my most enjoyable week away from home. As a side note, yes the food and restaurants are not Michelin star level but for an all inclusive definitely better than expected.

Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa - Give it a try
For those of you who are not aware, Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa was the Breathless Xhale/Preferred Club Resort. Breathless Cancun Rivera Maya originally had 3 areas: the preferred club area, the activity pool area, and the Xcelerate area. The Xhale/Preferred area is now the Secrets resort. We have been to Breathless Riviera Maya 3 times since 2018 and decided to return in January 2026 because we have been impressed each time we were there. We decided to book Secret Riveria Maya because we have access to everything in Breathless and not vice versa. However, if the beach is very important for your stay, you might want to consider another location. The resort remains modern and well-kept, with constant upgrades maintaining its clean and updated atmosphere. With three distinct areas ranging from lively to quiet luxury, there is something for everyone. The staff consistently provides phenomenal service, always greeting guests with a smile and genuine kindness. A shout-out to the E team, Manciel. Sophia, Ivan, Angel, and my favorite Pedro ( who is the kindest and sweetest soul) truly care about the people and make sure we are all having a great time. Wish we had the energy they have. They are always so polite, kind, fun, and attentive to everyone, and they certainly made our trips extra fun and special. If you enjoy wine, you must meet the head sommelier, Tomas Anzaldo, who is very knowledgeable. He introduced us to a new wine each night during our stay, and each one of them is special and pairs very well with our meals. We appreciate him very much. Many thanks to the pool concierge and waiters, Vicente, Roger, and Edwin. They make sure we have a chair, and they all know our names and our drinks by the second day. They are also very courteous and kind. Lastly, for those of you who are interested in joining the Hyatt/UVC club, please make sure you ask for Jaffet. Jaffet is one of the nicest, kind and non-aggressive UVC concierge I have met after being a UVC members for almost 9 years. Give him a try and listen to what he has to offer if you are interested in becoming a member, you will not feel pressure to join. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service. While many resorts are beautiful, the outstanding food, entertainment, and attentive staff at Secrets/Breathless Riviera Cancun truly set it apart. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort for a memorable and enjoyable vacation. Thank you to all the staff at Secrets & Breathless Cancun, they are the ones who made this beautiful resort extra special. Brian, Stella, Silvio, Erin and John

HoneyMoon trip We never had a dull day from the water and beach activities to the painting and silent disco and the karaokee. The Cabaret was soo much fun. Can't wait to go back! When room service was requested it was really fast and when looking into excursions the staff was extremely in depth! So no Surprises!

The best staff! Highly recommend!
My husband and I just got back after celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary for a week at this resort and I highly recomment. We originally booked it as it was best of both worlds relax and if you wanted a bit more action go to the breathless side. We were so happy with the secrets side we did not go to the other pools during the day. The staff was amazing. The best pool servers and a big shoutout to Mar, she made sure we did not go thirsty and remembered our names during our stay. Another shout out to the pool servers Cruz and Abi. We loved Rosewater and going to miss seeing Lili and Yesenia every morning. Also a shout of to the servers at Rosewater Andres and Baltazar! And last but not least shout out to Spicy Luis, he did great at entertaining and keeping people engaged. The ocean may not be clear but the beach is well taken care of and everything else was great. The food was also very good and drinks were not watered down. Cleaning service was also very good! Honestly no complaints. One thing we did miss was we did not get a welcome drink but if thats the only suggestion id say that is pretty damn good! Lol

Relaxing getaway
Great resort with beautiful rooms and location. Staff on secrets side is very friendly and helpful. We had a great time. Would go back.
