Another Secrets, very pretty but not a Wow.
Let me start by saying I work in travel and have stayed at more Secrets properties than I can count. While I think this is a stunning property aesthetically, they are mostly all the same in what they offer and overall quality. Moderate, nothing was a Wow. The check-in experience was terrible, while I knew I arrived before the 3pm check-in time, I was confused as to why I received three emails prior to my arrival asking when I was coming in from another property. The Preferred Club check-in area is small and cramped and then they push you to the outside area without enough seating anyway. I was told to come back at 3pm and ended up having to hunt down someone to get a key well after 4pm. I didn't like having to wait for a Butler to walk me there. The Tropical View King was beautifully decorated, bed comfortable. Unfortunately, the people above me sounded like they were walking with bricks on their feet it was so unbelievably loud. I didn't get turn down all but once and had to hunt down the butlers for housekeeping. I would leave the room around 8:30am- and be out all day, and they always seemed to have an excuse as to why my room was missed. Red light was never on. One evening they even scheduled turn-down to make a point it would get done and it didn't. This to me is just unacceptable for a resort of this price point and needs to be managed better. One thing I loved about this resort was the separation of the Preferred club areas to the rest of the hotel. The pool, indoor/outdoor bar/lounge and dining were all sectioned off to make it feel likes its own private upscale area. Unfortunately, the preferred club pool is not managed well by the pool concierge, and they allow guests to hold seats for hours on end. I asked them about it, and they said 1 hour, but it isn't something they enforce. I would go out to the pool around 8:30am and not a chair in sight without something on it. There are other Secrets that manage this well and seats are always available; this is a major deterrent for me personally, to pay for an upgraded area and have to play the towel game. The food was average; I prefer to stay clear of buffet dining and with Preferred club they do offer Breakfast at the Seaside restaurant which was good. Lunch can be ordered poolside as well on a very small poolside menu if you don't want to walk to something else. Dinners were long waits, but I grabbed a beeper and a drink at the lounge. Asian was good, but I was invisible and never received my Sushi. I guess because I was solo, they just skimmed over my table. I had to ask for water and refills twice. Italian, I did twice, since the other options were closed or full, which was overall good. Service was nice. I did have to eat outside on an hour wait to get in. One note on this property is almost everything is an open-air style, so if you run hot and like air conditioning at night, I would look elsewhere. Only Desires nightclub is fully inside, and then the restaurants of French, Asian and Italian. They offered live music around the property somewhere daily. The Rendezvous bar here was a really nice vibe and great spot for a drink with some live music, same for the PC club bar. The PC club pool is quiet and relaxing, while the main pool has the Spring break party vibe, so you can choose which is a huge plus for me. I heard some younger clientele complaining about it, but it was the perfect set up. Beach is a large, long stretch with a nice bar set up. Lots of loungers available with umbrellas and service. So, in closing, it is a beautiful property with the new Boho aesthetic. I wouldn't overpay for it; it is nice but not 5* by any means.

Place was amazing, Tui not so much.
Place was fantastic!! We went for our honeymoon and was my first time in Mexico so didn't know what to expect. Service and amenities were all 10/10. Staff are all wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. Only issue we had was with Tui, when we arrived they said "who are you?" not what we wanted to hear after a 9hr flight, we weren't on their system and said we could stay but if we had £1.5K to be held to cover the accommodation cost (this was our spending money). We showed them our confirmation email from Tui saying we were staying there but it just wasn't on their system, the hotel released the money 2 days after this but it didn't arrive back into our account until the 2nd last day so this was us denied our spending money on our honeymoon and we got next to no communication from Tui.

40th birthday uninspiring
The Preferred areas aren't really separate, there is no authentic Mexican food served at all, lots and lots of sargassum and iguanas. Even Preferred Club doesn't get top shelf alcohol. Everyone has to buy it. Plus I requested a Happy Birthday banner for the door multiple times but never got it and it was something I was hoping to have as a souvenir for my 40th birthday but now I can't have another 40th so oh well. The property overall was so pretty. The entertainment team were fun. And on arrival I found someone's earring on the floor out in the open in our room.

Perfect getaway, not a kid in sight.
First trip without kids in 5 years, this resort was perfect. Beautiful amenities, food was great, staff was helpful. Our concierge Manuel really hooked it up, especially on our last morning. Took our order for breakfast so we would have room service at the exact time we wanted it, made sure to set up baggage pickup, everything was completely stress free. All we needed to do was enjoy our last few hours of paradise. Only recommendation for future travelers, make sure to grab a spot at the pool or beach early if you want prime real estate for the day.

A Beautiful Resort with Great Service – Mostly Wonderful Experience!
This was my first time staying at a Secrets resort, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! After reading so many glowing reviews, I almost thought it was too good to be true — but the property is absolutely beautiful and located in a peaceful, quiet part of Costa Mujeres, just as expected. We stayed in Building 9 with a swim-out suite, which was modern, clean, and tastefully designed. The swim-out pool was perfect for relaxing, and being close to the Sugar Reef Bar was super convenient. We were here to celebrate my birthday, and a big shoutout to our amazing concierge Manuel. He surprised us by decorating the room with balloons and a birthday cake, and was always around when we needed something — warm, friendly, and attentive. Having turn-down service in the evenings was a lovely bonus as well. That said, poolside service at our swim-out was hit or miss. Some days we received drinks, and other days we were overlooked — even though nearby guests were being served. A bit inconsistent, and a little disappointing. The restaurants were fantastic — we had great food everywhere we went. A special mention to Hugo at Oceana during lunch — his service was top-notch, and the whole fried fish was incredible. Highly recommend! We also attended the UVC presentation, and unfortunately, this part was a letdown. It took much longer than advertised, and when we declined their offers, the staff’s attitude noticeably shifted. While they say there’s no pressure, the experience ended on an awkward note. The beach was stunning, with great bar service all around. There was some sargassum, but that’s expected this time of year, and they did a great job cleaning it up each morning with a tractor. Overall, this resort offers a wonderful getaway — beautiful grounds, mostly excellent service, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely return (just skipping the UVC pitch next time!).
