  Wonderful week at Secrets Moxche’

  What a wonderful week! Donna and I just spent 5 nights at Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and we wanted to share our experience. We did not get sick at all. We ate and drank at every restaurant. We almost changed resorts after hearing about people getting sick at other places, but it was wonderful. We didn’t hear of anyone getting sick over the past 6 days, and we talked to a lot of people. No issues. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are stunning, incredibly well maintained, and you can tell a lot of effort goes into keeping everything looking its best. We were Preferred, and our Ocean Front room was amazing. The view was incredible, and we had a balcony overlooking the entire resort — Room 2501. The food was really good. We didn’t have any bad meals or anything to complain about. We ate at the buffet, Allora, Suki, Seasoul, Bamboo, and the Observatory. We ate, drank, and enjoyed ourselves. There are a lot of pools throughout the property, and one thing we really appreciated was that we could always find somewhere to sit and relax. The staff were wonderful. Every single employee we encountered was friendly, hardworking, and genuinely seemed to want to help in any way possible. They truly deserve recognition for the effort they put in every day. Karla, the lady who took care of our room, was very attentive and did a wonderful job. I worked out in the gym every day, and Daniela who runs the gym was amazing. She keeps the gym spotless. We’ve stayed at many all-inclusives over the past six years, and this is one of the best gyms we’ve seen. Secrets Moxché is a gorgeous resort with beautiful rooms, plenty of pools, hardworking and friendly staff, and good food. Would we recommend it?   The Outstanding Secrets Moxche Entertainment Team

  Overall the experience was amazing as the quality of service, food, and drinks was exactly what we knew we were paying for. The biggest area that helped us exceed our expectations was the entertainment team that the resort had to offer. We played volleyball in the pool and beach almost every day and just had amazing experiences with each of the entertainment team staff members we interacted with. To single out specifically Joram, Miguel, Adrian, and Sandra were amazing and they enhanced our entire experience from not only the activities but to even getting us to sing karaoke at the sports bar. Another person I want to single out is Ilse, there is not enough good things I can say about her as she was an absolute joy and pleasure to be around and we were sad she was off on our last full day because we really wanted to say goodbye to her. She remembered our names and always made it a point to come up and say hi to us which was a nice personal touch. The last person I wanted to specifically call out was Sergio and similar to Ilse there is not enough good things I can say about him. Every time we saw Sergio it was like we were catching up with an old friend. He always kept an eye out for us before events knowing we were most likely interested in joining but even more than that he made time to make a personal connection with us and go beyond a surface level relationship. It was sad to say goodbye to him on our last day but I am glad that I get to give him such a glowing review because I couldn’t have asked for a better worker to see on a daily basis while on the resort!

  Great new property

  Great property. Relatively new so it was very clean and nice. Pools and food were great and as mentioned, never too crowded

  Nice getaway

  This was my first secrets experience and my husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The heated pool was amazing. And I had probably the best ceviche I’ve ever had at dos Alma’s. The rooms were spacious . We booked the preferred club swim out that was actually private which was nice .

  A cautionary tale for all-inclusive travelers

  Travel long enough and you learn the polished brochure rarely tells the whole story, and this resort proved it. Our entire group fell ill during the stay. For me, it turned into more than a week of recovery, prescription treatment, and days lost to simply getting through it. When things go wrong, how a property responds tells you everything, and here it was a scripted email with no real accountability. Food and water safety is the bare minimum at any all-inclusive, and this one fell short. Save your vacation days for somewhere that takes guest health seriously.
