  Amazing Resort with Incredible Staff

  We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Secrets Maroma Beach! The resort is stunning, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the rooms are spacious and well-kept. The pools and beach were amazing as well! There was some seaweed on the beach, but that's expected this time of year and didn't take away from our experience. We also never had trouble finding a spot to sit, no matter what time of day. One of my favourite things about this resort was the entertainment program. Each day, our concierge, Francia, who was so lovely and helpful throughout our stay, would send us the schedule, and we were always excited to see what was on the lineup for the day. There were SO many activities each day including bike rides, pool volleyball, kayak tours, pizza making, archery, guacamole lesson, beach volleyball, and so much more. We loved that we could relax whenever we wanted and could also jump into the activities. One of the absolute highlights of this resort, though, was the people!!! I really want to take the time to recognize some of the amazing staff members throughout this review because our stay truly wouldn't have been the same without them. First, I have to give a huge shoutout to Joanna on the entertainment team. We met her on our first day, and it was so lovely seeing her each day and chatting with her. She was so friendly and welcoming and always kept us up to date on the activities happening throughout the day. She is the best!! I also have to give a shoutout to Angel, who brought so much fun and energy to every activity he was part of. He was always making us laugh, and you knew you were going to have a great time if he was there! There were several other members of the entertainment team that were just as wonderful! Isabelle was the sweetest, and we also really enjoyed chatting with Marcelo. I know I'm forgetting a few names, but the entire entertainment team deserves so much credit. They genuinely go out of their way to connect with guests and they made our stay so much more memorable! I also have to recognize the pool servers because they work SO incredibly hard all day to get you everything you need. Before you even finish your first drink, they're already back asking if you need anything else. No matter where you're sitting by the pool or on the beach, you never have to worry about going without a drink or food! Alberto was our server on the first day, and he was awesome! I also have to give a HUGE shoutout to Carrera. He was amazing!! We started purposefully sitting in his section because he was so lovely and always made sure we were taken care of. The food was another highlight of our stay. Whether it was the food by the pool, the breakfast buffet, or the à la carte restaurants, I genuinely don't think I had a single meal I didn't enjoy. My favourite restaurant ended up being the French restaurant. The filet mignon and chicken cordon bleu were absolutely incredible. Both times we visited, we were also surprised with a special dish from the chef in addition to our appetizers, which I thought was such a lovely and personal touch. Every restaurant we visited had incredible servers who were attentive and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. Two people who really stood out to us were Leonardo and Sebastian at the French restaurant. They worked so hard to ensure everything was perfect and went absolutely above and beyond to make our meals memorable. Of course, that isn't to say all of our other servers weren't amazing, because they absolutely were! Now onto the nightlife, I loved the evening entertainment program. After dinner, there was always music in the lobby, followed by a show at the pool/theatre, more live music, and then silent disco or DJ night. There was so much variety we loved it! Eduardo was one of the bartenders at Desires bar for most of the nights we were there, and he was amazing! He remembered our favourite drinks, was always attentive, and consistently put a smile on our faces. And shoutout as well to Estrella at the lobby bar, who was so amazing as well! Long story short, Secrets Maroma Beach is an incredible resort with an amazing team of people who truly make the experience what it is. It has that calm, luxurious atmosphere while still offering so many fun activities and things to do throughout the day and night. Every team member we interacted with helped make our stay special, and it's clear how much effort they put into making sure guests have a great time. I truly had an incredible time, made so many great memories, and had so much fun. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. Can't wait to come back!

  Secrets Maroma beach was great ! Entertainment not so much.

  We last visited Secrets Maroma 10 years ago. To be truthful, Akumal, Cap Cana and Tulum Casa Zamna are our go toos. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beach ( long and deep) the number of available loungers and the quick drink service. They worked all day to keep the sargassum at bay. There was very little during our stay. The hotel does have some construction going on, apparently adding another pool and sports bar area as well as remodeling the Mexican, Italian and French restaurants. The French and Italian restaurants were inside of the world cafe at night. The Mexican restaurant was closed. Food was outstanding !!! Entertainment was lacking unless you are a huge football fan, I would certainly watch it at a sports . 2 of the 7 nights we were there, the "main event" were not live shows, they were NFL football nights. Really ? I live shows they did have were good but I could really do without the football. If I wanted that I would certainly watch at a sports bar (under construction). Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

  Ok, was a nice resort, I wanted to love it. However, it went sideways at the beginning. Upon check in you are bombarded with time share offers and presentations. In fact, it doesn’t stop there, every time you go into the main lobby you are again bombarded with the time share pitch. Next onto the staff. Most are amazing and friendly, when tipped. When you just want a bottle of water at the bar and you don’t tip, the eye rolls and rudeness begin. Most of the resort is nice, however again most of the super drunk people hang around the bars. Which is fine cause that leaves the beach wide open. But, because all the drunks are around the bar, the beach service is sub par. Wait times seem a bit long, but to be expected, as mostly we drink water and a few afternoon cocktails. I would pass on going here again, as the room was nice but not amazing. The restaurants aren’t bad, but they only have 5 and 1 always is closed every night as they have some sort of buffet festival to try and entertain people. Stop and just have the restaurants open, I don’t need to eat crap Nachos for Monday night football.

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing 40th Birthday Trip!

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing 40th Birthday Trip! My wife and I had an incredible stay at Secrets Maroma and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate my 40th birthday. The biggest highlight of our trip was Uriel from the entertainment team. We had some great conversations with him throughout the week, and he went completely above and beyond by surprising my wife and me with a private painting session. He knew how much I love my favorite football team, the Cincinnati Bengals, and I got to paint a Bengals-themed piece to take home. It was such a thoughtful and personal surprise and easily one of our favorite memories from the entire trip. Uriel is genuinely a great guy and someone we won’t forget! I also have to give a huge shoutout to our concierge, Marco. He was absolutely fantastic. He was always available whenever we needed anything and made sure we were taken care of throughout our entire stay. His service was top-notch. The beach massage was phenomenal, and renting a Bali bed was absolutely worth it. The pools were beautiful, and the poolside staff worked incredibly hard and provided great service every day. The food at the restaurants was great as well. We ate very well the entire trip and had a great experience everywhere we went. Overall, Secrets Maroma gave me an amazing way to celebrate turning 40. Between the beautiful resort, great food, pools, beach, incredible service, and especially people like Uriel and Marco, this was a birthday trip my wife and I will remember for a very long time. Thank you for helping me celebrate 40 in style! 🇲🇽🥳🐅
