Jan 23, 2026Home away from home -- but much more comfortable and relaxing!
We had a wonderful time as usual at Secrets Cap Cana. We stayed in building 9 in the Preferred Club area overlooking the Preferred Club pool and next to the Preferred Club lounge, the fitness center, and the spa. It's a great location! Highlights this time: Our butler Ricardo was so warm and thoughtful and happily did everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. He arranged two special meals for us. The second, a Dominican lunch at Seagrass Grill that is not available on the menu, was the culinary highlight of the stay. I hope Ricardo will get a big promotion in the near future. Speaking of food, the ethnic foreign meals (Bordeux, Portofino, El Patio, Himitsu) are, I guess, adequate but kind of bland and not comparable to neighborhood restaurants in NYC where we live. Himitsu cannot be said to be actual Japanese food, but maybe it can be fun for kids? But the seafood, grilled foods, and Dominican dishes are good. The house wines are bad, but we were told it is extremely expensive to import wine into the DR. You can get a better bottle there, but you have to pay extra, so I'd mostly stick to beer, liquor, and cocktails. The pools are lovely, of course, although not quite as warm as we expected. Still, we swam every day. The Preferred Club pool here has no cabanas sadly, and the umbrellas only really block the sun while it is high overhead. We loved Kelly, the yoga teacher this week. @fityogi60 She gave the best "resort yoga" classes we've had at vacation club resorts, because they were well tailored to the people who attended, who are mostly middle-aged and seniors. Not too hard but good for the body and currently offered late morning and early evening, they are the perfect book-ends to days of R&R. Our room was very nice with a big two-person shower, but this time, no sunscreen was provided (it used to be) so be sure to bring your own. The staff always restocked our fridge, and we never came close to running out of bottled water this time, which we appreciated. All the staff are so warm and friendly and seem to be trying really hard to do a good job and see that everyone has a good time. We appreciate all of them! We especially appreciated Juliana and her colleagues in the UVC office who is so genuine and warm and explained all of our upgrade options so well. So even though the usual UVC meeting took a long time, it was enjoyable. We look forward to many more trips to the various Secrets properties where we always feel welcome and at home.

Always a great time!
Secrets Cap Cana is really home away from home! My family and I visit every January and it is always the most amazing time! The team members are passionate not only about their jobs, but also about the guests they serve. Their warm welcome, continuous smiles, and endless dedication to service are truly outstanding. Darling, Xiomara, Steffany and Maria to name a few play a role to our continuous loyalty to Secrets Cap Cana!

Why keep it a Secret?!??
A beautiful resort with amazing food, wonderful beach and a fabulous staff! We enjoyed our week stay here. The rooms were clean, loved the secret door for room service, nightly entertainment was great! Activities at the beach were a lot of fun also…. And our butler Ricardo was top notch!! We loved our hut 4 on the beach! Enjoyed the service, food, and the Bali bed and shade! Also Ricardo our butler organized the floating taco bar for the preferred pool!! It was gorgeous and delicious! A lot of fun! Price not included… but worth it. We will be back and will ask for the amazing Ricardo again!

Paradise in Punta Cana
Absolutely gorgeous tropical resort complete with palm trees, white sand beach, pools and spa. They have a variety of restaurants and events occurring daily. What sets Secrets Cap Cana Resort apart is the level of service, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. It is truly a stay in Paradise.

Secrets Cap Cana a wonderful resort
A beautiful resort! The food was delicious. The staff was so kind and helpful. Our concierge Barreto was so helpful, always checking in to make sure we were happy and our needs were being met. I can’t say enough good things about our experience!
