  Special trip to the Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya

  The hotel is truly stunning. The rooms are spacious and clean. All of their various buildings have their own Concierge that looks after the guests. The food is of high quality and the hotel is in synch with nature. And sometimes you might come across an Agouti or snorkeling around turtles. But what made this trip even more remarkable for us are all of the Employees at the hotel. EVERYONE we met was so welcoming, warm and helpful. An absolute delight!! If we lived closer to Mexico, we would be regular guests here. We are now using this experience as a benchmark for our future trips. A truly remarkable hotel but probably the most friendliest and most welcoming staff you'll ever meet.

  Just WOW

  My husband and I (both late 50's) just spent 2 weeks in this stunning resort for our honeymoon. Between us, the one and only slight negative thing to say is that the pools could do with a little TLC, they're looking a little tired, but I'm sure maintenance is ongoing to keep the resort so beautiful, so I'm sure they're on the to-do list. Otherwise 100/10. The beach is so relaxing and beautiful, plenty of loungers and palapas, and the beach bar is brilliant. The vibe of the hotel is like something we've never experienced, the staff seem so happy and are totally lovely and welcoming without exception. The hotel itself is stunning, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the aircon is super efficient! We loved the jacuzzi bath and the huge shower. The privacy box for room service was brilliant, every hotel needs one of those!!! And we loved the privacy light, no-one will disturb you when it's on. The hotel is spotlessly clean, tidy and dry, the ground staff work constantly to keep it beautiful, I've never seen so many squeegee mops being used (it rained a lot!) There are lots of walkways so you can stay dry in those tropical rain showers. The food.....WOW. Our favourite restaurant was Seaside, but it was all fabulous. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, and we loved our morning coffee and cinnamon rolls from the 24/7 coffee shop. Driving away from the hotel on our last day was so sad, it was a week ago today and I'm still missing everything so much, especially the 9am Mimosas served poolside and the afternoon ice cream, also served poolside! We felt so spoiled and pampered. Between us we've travelled a fair bit and have stayed in some nice places, but this resort blew us away. The only problem with staying at Secrets Akumal is that the holiday bar has now been set so high we don't want to go anywhere else!!

  10/10 Experience at Secrets Akumal

  Secrets Akumal is truly a memorable experience! This was our first time at a Secret’s destination and our standards are very high now. Everything was incredible! It is located in a prime area and has one of the most gorgeous beaches we have seen! Our concierge team, Annie and Marlon were amazing! They went above and beyond and made our experience an incredible. Anything we needed, they made sure we had. Because of Annie, our stay was a 10/10. The activities we participated were also great. Oscar and Anthony did a great job in making them fun and entertaining. Jesus at the main pool was wonderful, he took great care of us and gave great food recommendations! He made sure we always had what we needed and was so attentive. I could say the same about Jesus, who tended to us at the preferred beach area. He was constantly checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of. Lastly, we were very impressed with Wilmer’s (I believe he works in maintenance) hospitality. We were looking for the tennis courts and asked him for directions. He stopped what he was doing and took us all the way to the courts, ensuring we got to the right place. That really stood out to us and proved to us that the staff really care about the guests and want to give them the most memorable experience. The food and drinks were amazing and everything we tried, we loved. We cannot wait to return to Secrets Akumal.

  Resort and staff amazing

  Our 4th time to this resort and it did not disappoint, and actually our 3rd and 4th visit within 5 months this year, May and September, So why do we come here, ? the resort is beautiful the food and rooms are excellente, There are 3 pools to choose from, the lively pool 1, the calming pool 2 and the quiet pool 3, Preferred club is also a very nice place for some air con and nice food and drinks. The beach and Bali beds are also very well maintained and the views are so nice and relaxing. Now for the staff - Carlos the supervisor on the entertainment team is just the best, like previous visits he is just so polite and funny and always makes the effort to pop by and say hello, works very hard through out the day and his guacamole class is so good, he is a true gentleman, and I have to thank him for giving me the energy and motivation to visit the gym every morning!!!! Max - Concierge such a nice guy, very professional and we had so much fun, and like Carlos always made the effort to say hello by the pool, and I miss leaving him a message each morning,, only Max will know what I mean, thanks Max Oscar - entertainment team, WOW you work so hard on the daily activities you are always doing something somewhere and again like Max and Carlos always said hello and a fist bump, and I know how desperate you are to beat me at ping pong, you can have that re match in March/April 2027 Carlos Mr supervisor entertainment ,Max Concierge,Oscar entertainment team, thank you all three of you we had such a laugh. Preferred club team - you will meet the lovely Fernanda who is so kind and genuine and professional, always welcoming and always happy to have a chat, we will miss Fernanda for sure, Gabriella in the preferred club is so funny and genuine and we got on so well and so many laughs, such a nice person, only Gabby will know that I’m never in the preferred club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, thank you Gabby Antonio pool concierge needs no introduction the man is fantastic and I have known him from day 1 and is just the best, Jose pool concierge new to us this year was also so good always chatty and always happy to come by and have a chat, Rueban - pool area who we know very well, was on holiday when we were there but he was there on our last day, and recognised us and again was so nice Gina concierge such a nice person , this time Gina was in block 9 and we were in block 3 so we didnt see as much of Gina as normal but we both made the effort to see each other and say hello. we met Arantza - entertainment team for the 1st time this visit on a rainy day activity in the lobby bar for bingo and she was so funny. Like previous posts depending which block your in, pool areas , you interact with different staff, and we did again this year. Big shout out to luis- bartender in preferred club and other areas as they move around, we have known him since our first visit and he really is a true gentleman, thank you luis. Anna and Jesus you are amazing Sergio and Mario you are amazing I know I have missed some people especially some preferred club staff as well as rendezvous staff, but I got on so well with so many staff, We will see you again soon, Now I know senior management see these posts- so, The resort is stunning the rooms the food the activities all excellent, thank you, but the staff are are just the best, our 4th time and we visited twice in 5 ,months the staff are just the best. Thank you Jason

  Excellent experience. Everything was wonderful. The staff went above and beyond to pamper you and make your stay perfect. I also can't say enough about all the food choice selections and the quality was amazing.
