  A hard pass, nothing royal here

  Hard to find honest reviews, I hope this helps. WARNING - SCAM….they tried putting lipstick on a pig and calling it luxury. They claim it opened in 2017, I’m willing to make a large wager that it’s over 25 yrs old and they painted in 2017 and called it a renovation. The towels and bedding are probably original from 25 yrs ago. AC has no set temperature, it’s either on or off. So either sweat or freeze. Bathroom doors do not lock, some doors are jammed either open and can’t move. I have never slept on a worse pillow than these. DO NOT CHARGE TO ROOM! And the kicker at end of trip, they over charge for anything that is billed to room. Make sure you get some kind of slip with price or you will be paying what ever they feel like charging. Food is mediocre at best, lines are long for food. Its a large resort Most staff could not care less about you, but yes there are a few good apples in this largely spoiled bunch. Dominican weather is great, too bad I spent it at this hotel.

  Fun Great Experience for Everyone

  I stayed here with my family to celebrate the new year and it was an overall great experience. Its a beautiful property which is kept very clean by a very friendly staff. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. During the day the pool and beach area is very lively with plenty of activities to entertain adults and kids. The bar at the pool was by far the best part and the bartender in the main pool Juan Mateo made the day a blast. They make great drinks and have a ton of fun during the day. Night time is also great there. They had shows in the main square area every night. The food was good compared to other all inclusives Ive stayed at so as far as food goes its probably on the higher end of the scale for all inclusive. Overall this was a great place to stay and I will go back there any time I visit Punta Cana.

  Great experience. Good food great hospitality. Guillermina was the best pool server around. The beach was gorgeous and clean. No rocks or seaweed! I will be back in May for another birthday trip! Oh also there was 10 pools total so lots of space for everyone

  If you don’t go down to reserve a beach or pool chair by 6:30-7am you will not get anything.

  I recently stayed at the Royalton Bavaro property and as a platinum member I was very disappointed with the guest service recovery. Check in process was brutal!! Got a private transfer to the hotel from the airport to speed up the process and it took us two hours to check in. Front desk staff seemed to focus on guest that were already checked in or spoke Spanish. We booked two rooms for our family of six but did not receive the requested accommodations. Despite multiple visits to the front desk, we were told there was nothing that could be done until the next morning, and even then, we were met with different responses by everyone we spoke to from guest service and front desk staff. Additionally, one of the rooms had a broken pull-out sofa, and after several phone calls and visit at the front desk in attempts to have maintenance and being told it would be 20 minutes, two hours later they still didn’t show up. We also encountered issues with missing linens and pillows for the pull-out sofas, and some amenities like no blow dryers or irons. Furthermore, our concierge's behavior was concerning. He persistently messaged us all week to attend a 1/2 hour presentation with breakfast, (possibly a timeshare) stating that if we attended, he would be able to offer us a $200 credit towards anything at the resort. This would also give him the credits he was looking for, and he even suggested we misrepresent our professions, including that of an anesthesiologist otherwise we wouldn’t be able to receive our $200 credit. Lastly, we attended the same buffet restaurant near the beach in the morning for breakfast. We were told from day one by several staff members that it’s for Marriott members as well diamond club members. The day prior to us leaving we were suddenly denied entry. We were now told the “Big bosses” just arrived at the resort and it was now only for diamond club members. This level of service is disappointing and does not align with the standards I expect as a loyal Marriott platinum member. I hope this feedback leads to improvements in guest service and staff training. Even though we encountered some issues we tried to make the best of our vacation with our kids. We loved the beach as well as the entertainment in the evening. The housekeeping staff were extremely friendly and sweet.

  Winter getaway

  Beautiful resort! So much to do and so many pools to have fun in! We had an amazing server by the pool “Guillermina”. She would take care of us everyday we were out at the pool. Very kind and enthusiastic! I will definitely be coming back to this resort!
