Best vacation at a Riu ever! Mainly because we got a better room close to beach and pool from Polo, Paulo -not sure of spelling - I had a knee replacement, so this made life easier. Perfect mix of guests. Better food than some Rius. The activity guy, Gustavo was the best we ever had! So animated and talented! We will definitely be back here!

Excellent location on the beach and great staff. Really nice food and good selection of drinks. RUI party every Friday is lots of fun.

Amazing holiday! Missing it already
Just returned from 10 days at this beautiful hotel! Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The hotel is immaculate and I couldn’t fault it in anyway There are 4 restaurants to choose from (as well as the usual All Inclusive Buffet) Steak, Mexican, Asian and Italian, all had beautiful food. The bars had every cocktail you could imagine! All the bar staff were so friendly and fun! The entertainment team were brilliant! There was always something going on here, you could never be bored! The pools were lovely and plenty of sun beds around the pools and beach, you do need to get a towel out before 10am though! All the cleaners were so lovely and friendly and our room was cleaned daily and was immaculate. I loved seeing all the little animals running round the hotel they really made me smile! All in all an amazing holiday!! I will definitely be back! Thankyou RIU Yucatan for an incredible 10 days

Utterly fantastico!!
We have been home for 3 sad weeks now, pining for a swift return to this amazing resort. So many beautiful Riu colleagues, it's difficult knowing where to start. I'll give it my best shot, but please bear with and a thousand apologies for any staff members I don't mention by name. We came for our first ever 3 week holiday and now we want 4 it was that good. Check in was super efficient, with our cases being taken to the room with us. The room (4108) itself was basic and a little dated, but our room technician Jorge, kept it spotlessly clean and tidy, despite us bringing quite a bit of sand in with us where we had fallen over on the beach. Nothing to do with ill health. We just found that gravity got way stronger the more we drank. Nice garden outlook from the balcony and with next to no effort, a sea view where we could see Cozumel most days. Interesting wildlife. OK to smoke but we always take an ashtray. The beach is beautiful, just the humans to mess it up but the staff are all over that too. Never an issue getting a sunbed any time of day. We used the beach at the Playacar a few times as we liked the beach service, and there were loads of Argentinians we chilled with. Shout out to Mauro and Macarena. The swim up there was much bigger, and you had the opportunity daily to build your own burger. Loved that! Pools were OK, a little busy for my liking with daily waterobics and ball games. Massive shout out to Leo at the swim up bar, who instinctively knew what would hit the spot if we didn't. Or had forgotten what we were drinking. The gardens were well kept, litter free, and interesting at very least. OK food. Without exaggeration, the cuisine has validated everything I thought about our diet in the UK. I mowed my way through 62 steaks in 21 days, had full English breakfast every day, drank for Wales, and only gained 3 pounds in weight. The food is fantastic! Prepared healthily. Cooked to perfection. No msg or other killer chemicals. Tasty. Nutritious. Good food. Even the coeliacs were healed judging by the number of cakes they were eating!! If that wasn't enough, we had 2 absolute angels bring us our lunch almost every day in the Italian restaurant at lunchtime. Hortentia and Suemy did Riu proud. They are the very reason we will come back. You can't train that level of interaction. It's natural. We will never forget what they did to enhance our vacation. The main buffet was always a smorgasbord of delights. Some days I wished I had 5 bellies so I could fill them all up. I won't go into every available item as I don't do fruit particularly, veg, chips, pizzas or desserts, but there was plenty of that if you wanted it. Like a party? Get spoilt for choice with Coconut, Foam, Beach, Pool, White and Neon parties. There is something every single day. Usually over at the Tequila of an evening. If there is one thing that sticks in my mind, it's the circus show. Amazing!! Actually, I can't leave a review without bigging up the one and only Edgar Fernández. Edgar de Mexico. Mariachi real. Outstanding entertainment. Got everybody involved during the day or in the evening. Whatever bar one frequented, the service was spot on. Dulcie and Filibert ran the lobby bar seamlessly. Leo had all eventualities covered by the pool. Felix was awesome of an evening, (respect my brother), in fact the entire 3 weeks we were there, not one surly comment, attitude, or look. This tells me that these hard working people enjoy their job, enjoy showcasing their skills, and are given a level of freedom to do that. Seriously Riu, well done. So overall, out of 100, this amazing holiday scored an unbelievable 98. That's a first. 2 points deducted because the monkey kept showing me his nuts.

Amazing place
The staff and atmosphere were amazing . Big shout out to Gustavo entertainment team,he is awesome. The monkeys were great to see too. All inclusive food choices and drinks were awesome. The beach was beautiful beyond words,recommend going down there at sunrise.Was so go good me and got engaged there. Cannot thank Yucatan staff enough,really is a special place
