2nd time there and remember some staff from 7 years ago and just as I remember, fun things to do kids and adults. Not far from the marina and mall, local shops and food.

My only issue as a nonsmoker with allergy to cigarette smoke was that smoking areas were not enforced. Great resort otherwise. Food was on par with most palaces. Room was modern and housekeeping did a superb job.

Great place
We came here as a family of 5. They put us across the tiny hallway from each other which was fantastic, rooms were quite nice, but will say ours could have been a bit more clean but it is what it is. Our villa was right by everything, the resort itself was very clean, friendly people, pools were cleaned and maintained nightly, and food was great! We lived the entertainment and there was the Riu party pool we checked out but just wasn’t for us. It was definitely busy so others enjoyed for sure. We did go swim in the ocean-the waves are massive so be careful, beach was beautiful and clean but vendors everywhere and constantly getting bugged. But they weren’t to aggressive. The infinity pool and swim up adult only pools were super busy so we didn’t really head there, and the family loved the waterslide area(right next to pizza). Would go back for sure.

Incredible value for the money, super clean and great party scene!
This place FAR exceeded my expectations. Such an incredible value! Party place but that’s fine as we were there after the spring break season. Lots of great activities and special theme parties. Definitely a younger crowd (I’m 51) but I had a great time traveling with my daughter. The pools and surrounding scenery are amazing. $5 uber ride into town and the marina for my dive trip (manta dive company is superb). I walked back to resort along the beach from town (1/2 hr walk). Beautiful clean rooms and no problems with noise at night as most parties are afternoon and early evening. Swim up bars all over the resort and the snacks places (Pepe’s) are awesome. Chicken, steak and shrimp skewers, great fries and guacamole. Buffets are your typical all inclusive resort fare. Lots of options. Steak house is good, don’t have super high expectations for sit down restaurants. The food is great, not spectacular but certainly very good. I’ll definitely be booking another RIU resort as they have locations all over the world.

Excellent week at Riu Santa Fe
I was concerned before getting to Riu Santa Fe because of all of the negative reviews lately and the reports of theft. I actually considered changing hotels but I'm so glad that I didn't. I've just spent a week at the Riu with my wife and two six year olds and it has been a great trip. The resort is nice and well maintained. The staff are friendly. There are lots of activities for adults and kids so if you're here as a family it's great with the kids club and RiuLand and if you're looking to party then that's catered for too with the adults only party area. The kids club was great and at night the RouLand entertainment with face painting and balloons kept the kids entertained. There are lots of restaurants, some better than others, but overall the standard is in alignment with similar resorts, we weren't disappointed. There are various snack places throughout the day and there are food carts offering different things each day. At night there's a taco bar, the buffet and 4-5 speciality restaurants. We didn't have trouble getting into any of them and they don't have one of those ridiculous reservation systems so it's first come first served. I'd say the hotel is a 4 star when compared to other hotels but it's well priced and you'd be hard pressed to find a better resort for the cost. Overall I'd recommend this resort.
