Oct 29, 2026Always great standards, cleanliness and reliable.
Although this is my husband’s TripAdvisor account, it was me Debbie and my daughter and 2 granddaughters staying this trip. It will probably be my last trip to The Big Apple as I am now 71, and NYC is a tiring adventure. I always use Riu Hotels and resorts, and have never been left feeling let down. In fact I would like to express my and my family’s gratitude for the extraordinary support and hospitality shown on this journey. Although I probably won’t be returning to NYC. The rest of my family have said they will be, and have already said that they will be using Riu. Again thank you for your help this week and indeed on previous visits. Will be seeing Riu’s again, however nearer to home, ie Dublin in about 4 weeks. Thank you all, Debbie

I booked a family suite well in advance. We were on the 7th floor. I called ahead to confirm there are two bathrooms. This was not the case. The front desk had no idea who would have told me that. There are no rooms with two bathrooms. The room is supposed to accommodate 6 people with one bathroom. We had four adult females. Having an extra bathroom was important to us. The toilet area was inside the bathroom. It would have been helpful for it to be separated from the shower and vanity area. The room with two beds had very little space in it. Both beds were pushed together making it one very large bed. When we tried to separate the beds there was no space to walk around to the other side of the bed. There was only one outlet to plug in cell phones in the sleeping rooms. I had to buy a power strip so we could plug the phones in. The common sitting area outside the sleeping areas was a joke. One chair and a very small desktop in a room that sleeps up to 6 people. If we weren't sitting on our bed, there was no place to sit. The room felt like a hospital room with drab colors and minimal art on the walls. The hallway to our room was also drab, gray and institutional. Total contrast from the beautiful lobby with bright colors. Hotel staff were friendly. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of food but very crowded. Everyday there was a line to get into the breakfast area no matter what time we went. They close the buffet at 10am which is a stretch for NYC when you are out late going to shows and activities. An 11am closure would be much better. The lobby was noisy and full of people waiting on the couches most of the time. The location is perfect for restaurants and Times Square. Having the two sleeping rooms was a plus. Would I stay here again? I'm not sure.

Definitely recommend!
We had the most amazing stay in New York and honestly couldn’t fault the hotel in any way! As this was my dream trip, I had high expectations, and the hotel exceeded them. We arrived at around 2am after travelling all day from the United Kingdom, so we were exhausted. As soon as we arrived at reception, I made a comment about how cold I was, and the gentleman on the front desk immediately brought over a heater for me. Such a small gesture, but after such a long day of travelling, it meant so much! He was incredibly polite, friendly and enthusiastic, and really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He had also noticed on our booking that I had requested a high floor because this was my dream trip, and he kindly arranged this for us without charging any additional fees. That level of thoughtfulness and customer service really made our stay extra special. The hotel itself was perfect, with an amazing location that made exploring New York so easy. Breakfast was spot on, with a great selection, and we never had to wait long at all – five minutes maximum! Every member of staff we encountered was polite, friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. I honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It made our first trip to New York even more special, and the staff deserve so much credit for making guests feel valued and welcome. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t hesitate – we would absolutely stay here again! 🗽❤️

Great hotel in a great location
A fantastic hotel just a two minute walk from Times Square which is ideal for anyone visiting NYC. Traveling as a family of four we were lucky enough to be given a room in the 26th floor and the view was spectacular. The staff were fantastic and we even got a special treat for a birthday and anniversary which was very thoughtful. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices. Get there before 07:30 and getting seated is not a problem. It was tasty and set us up for the day. The room was spacious with two double and a fold away sofa bed with plenty of sockets and decent aircon. Bathroom was large with an excellent shower. The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring. We walked to Times Square, Central Park, The Rock, Empire State Building etc. quickly and easily. It is also close to loads of subway stations for the lower part of the city. We also ventured to New Jersey for a hockey game. We saw Hamilton at the Roger’s Theatre which is literally across the street. Overall an absolutely fantastic hotel which made our time in NYC even better.

Basic rooms with unbeatable location
Stayed here for 6 nights and the location was everything to us! A few minutes stroll from Times Square, 15min walk from Central park, multiple metro stations nearby and plenty of restaurants just around the corner. The hotel itself did not impress us: the staff did not even greet when walking by the reception and when requesting something it took forever to deliver it. During our stay there were plenty of false fire alarms which was quite annoying when staying on the top floor. The room was so small it was hard to open the suitcases, but otherwise comfy enough. But why oh why don't they have normal duvets in the bed??? Only worn-out fleece blankets. The best thing besides the location was breakfast that had surprisingly wide selection. Summing up: okey basic hotel especially for short stays. Not worth the money, but with New York price level good enough.
