    Nice resort

Nice resort but the food is just okay. There are several restaurants to choose from so there’s something for everyone. Most of the staff are friendly but the bartenders at the bar by the pools are kind of rude to Americans, I felt like I was ignored a lot of the times I went to order something even though I would tip them and most people don’t. The mixed drinks are good but really taste like kool aid because if they do put alcohol in them it’s not very much. I’m a lightweight when it comes to drinking alcohol and have a very low tolerance but I could drink those margaritas and pina coladas all day and not get a buzz. The pools were nice but very warm like bath water temperature so not very refreshing since it was in the high 90s the week we were there. And if you want a chair by the pool get there early and don’t think it’s safe that you can leave your towel on it and walk away because people don’t care and will just move it and take your chair. The mattress was kind of hard but they do have a mattress topper that you can ask for and it makes the bed really comfortable. Also, if you use the ATM on the property you will only get pesos and if you have American dollars and ask them to give you change they give it in pesos so don’t take large bills.

    Fab holiday

Just got back from a 10 day holiday and had a fantastic time. Rooms were lovely and clean and food was lovely. All the staff work very very hard on extreme heat and do so with a smile. Big shout out to Favio, Billy the entertainment guys and Carlos and Valentino who work on restaurant.

A nice place but wouldn’t return

So firstly we didn’t have any huge delays in the airport despite what we previously read, the transfer was fine and didn’t take to long. We arrived at the hotel it was clean and modern, check in process was easy. We got to our room it was clean and spacious, the shower didn’t have a main door only a frosted glass door ok for a couple but offers no privacy if travelling with children, teenagers or friends. The room was cleaned daily and can not fault the maids. The mini bar was stocked regularly. The aircon was loud and didn’t go below 23 however it was still cooler than outside the ceiling fan didn’t work either. The food was boring and very repetitive most resorts have some form of rotation but it was the same every day, breakfast was good, lunch really poor and dinner there was something to eat but not fantastic choices. The beach was beautiful watching the sunrise at 6am was stunning and would highly recommend. The evening entertainment was horrendous, they tried but it really was poor. You can use the other hotels if you wish it may have been better. The swim up bar the same adults were sat in it all day everyday without moving once - not sure how much pool water there is vs pee. The pool areas are clean plenty of sun beds and shade activities going on through the day generally not to bad. I was expecting a luxury holiday but I did describe this as just an expensive Benidorm other than the beaches it was the same atmosphere. We booked some activities through Martin homys tours and could no fault in the slightest competitive pricing, extremely helpful, excellent service, private transfers etc. would 100% recommend. Taxis are easy to use we went to Walmart and 5th avenue and it was absolutely fine felt perfectly safe. 5th avenue is your typical holiday venue lots of vendors trying to get you in their shops etc but a no Thankyou and keep walking works just fine. Don’t be surprised what they openly offer you. We has good out several days and the local food really is amazing and worth the trip off the resort. The shopping plaza opposite the hotel is a complete rip off get a taxi to 5th avenue and you will pay less than half price even with paying for a taxi. We had a nice holiday but wouldn’t go back.

    Very enjoyable holiday

My fiancé and I chose to stay at this hotel following good reviews from my parents visit last year. Upon arrival we noticed staff are lovely, smiling, helpful and hard working. All speaks and understands English no problem. Enterteinment is lively and engaging. The guys are working all day making sure there is something to do for everyone from yoga, pilates, aqua gym, bingo, cocktail class to acrobatic show. There is plenty more happening, such as white party, neon party, coconut party just to name a few. Every hour there is something different happening. If you are an active person who doesn’t like sunbathing all day then you will not be bored in this hotel. There is also plenty of activities for kids to keep them happy and entertained from building sandcastles, colouring, dancing etc. There is a good selection of food in the main buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper. Food is warm and tasty. Also, you have a wide variety of choice of beverages and can even request prosecco for breakfast. Half way through our stay the pizza dough changed from thin crust to thick. We much prefer the thin crust pizza. Also the service was lacking for breakfast and lunch meaning we weren’t offered a drink, plates weren’t collected from tables, etc. However this was for the last 3 days of our 2 weeks holiday. Not sure if that has something to do with changing from high to low season, parliamentary election or staff sickness. Having said that soft drinks were easily accessible within the restaurant. Beach is long and wide with plenty of sun lounges. There could be more palms trees planted for shade but there was enough of space to rotate sun-bed during our stay and hide from sun if needed. Waiters keeps you well hydrated at the beach and if you wish to order a special drink they will be happy to bring it for you. There is plenty of vendors on the beach. Prices seem to be high but they aren’t pushy although there are a lot walking by. Staff are trying to do their best every morning to keep the beach free from seaweed however some days it’s was a losing battle. We noticed that the beach looks much nicer than the one in hotels next door. Tips are a nice gesture but not mandatory and staff will not treat you differently if you don’t tip. Having said that it would be nice of you as they are really doing their best to make you happy and enjoy your holiday. Rooms are spacious and clean. If you want to be closer to the beach and/or swimming pools then block 7 or 8 is ideal. You can send an email directly to the hotel and ask for your request to be taken into consideration. If you have any issues with the room, please feel free to contact reception and they will try their best to assist you and fix any problems. For the first few days the temperature in our room wouldn’t drop below 25*C. After reporting this at the evening it was fixed the following day and has been fine since. Mini fridge is stocked every 2nd day. However, if you need anything just call reception and they will sort it out. The walls seem to be quite thin as you can easily hear neighbour conversation, hairdryer, snoring, etc. We wish the tv was updated to play YouTube, Netflix, apart from that it’s a nice size lcd tv. There is also USB port by the bedside table to charge your phone. Across the street from hotel there is a number of souvenirs shops. Although they seem to be expensive, if you go to the mini mart it has a good selection of souvenirs at fair fixed price and you can pay by card, Apple Pay etc. The sellers in other shops seem to be open to offers so haggling is involved.

    Our 48th Anniversary

If you like hot & sweaty go NOW, if not choose Dec - Mar. The heat was not the prob, The combo of Heat and Humidity was. From the moment you leave your AC Room in the morning till you get back after evening entertainment you Sweat like nobodies business. Reception/Lobby: was fast and efficient, nice friendly staff. Only Prob i found is, it is open to the elements and is Hot and humid (NO AC ) along with the LOBBY Bar (which is Open 24 HRS and you can get a burger tacos, salad fruit, Coffee or Drink there during the night if u can sleep). The bar staff (Dany, Fer, Alberto, Troy were Brilliant and the Night Shift Guy who provided ne with coffee at 06.00 every morning). Customer Service desk shows opening time of 07.00 - 21.00, REALLY!!!!! i saw 2 people at the desk on 2 diff days/times in 2 Weeks. Exchange: On numerous occasions at diff time so day i asked them to split large US$ Notes and they could not? They actually directed me 1 time to talk to the guy on the door in blue who will get you a taxi, He had a wad of dollar bills and was more than happy to break a $100 bill into 50, 20 and 30 singles :) i told him he had more money than the exchange which made him laugh:) Spa and shop facilities: there is a small shop off reception near the Spa, which has most things you may have forgotten. The Spa reps selling treatments by pools did Not quite give the correct info when asked. We Booked a Massage for wife at 11 and a double Ped/Mani at 15.00, all our info was taken incl name, room number, when departing etc and we stated "We don't have cards or money on us, can we pay this afternoon before our joint Manicures etc", "YES" came the reply. Wife duly turns up at 10.55 and turned away because she did not have cards or money. so she had a 400yd walk in heat etc to spa, turned around 400 back to get some money, 400 back to spa and then same 400yds back to pool Just over 1.5km walk for a massage which was enjoyed at the time, but what an effort!!!! SO remember to either pay at time of booking OR Take card/cash with you on arrival. We nearly cancelled the Double pedi/mani but didn't in the end. Taxi's: Readily available from the man on reception entrance. CONFIRM PRICE with driver before getting into taxi. US$10 or 150 Pesos from Hotel to start of 5th Ave. Forget to agree price and you WILL get charged and extortion amount which you WILL have to pay. Shopping: General rule, if it DONT have a price you can Haggle/Barter. If it has a price don't bother. Beach Vendors: They are around daily (Hats, sunglasses, REAL SILVER jewellery etc. If You Want to part with your money and you are happy to pay the price GO FOR IT. Otherwise don't be surprised when it falls to bits or you find on coming home your "genuine" Light Weight silver pendant, necklace and ankle chain which you get NO Certification for and is given to you to keep safe in a plastic "Zip" freezer bag is NOT silver but base metal or EPNS. GO TO A PROPER JEWELLERS and get certification, nice leatherette bag and also very good discounts :) Room (8320): was adequate, Gr8 AC (Defo needed), Usual 5* stuff ie 4 Bottle Optic cabinet. Nice towels, Huge beds, Nice Bathroom etc, Balcony NO Light. our shower pressure was low but after the handle came off (2 days from leaving) and control unit was replaced the pressure was like pins and needle (Lovely). Lots of limescale build up caused corrosion of internal connections (might be a Maintenance concern). Bottled water seemed to be very metallic in taste Not Pleasant but drinkable when you are sweating soooooooo much. Eating: I have a GARLIC Allergy (PLEASE, PLEASE remember when booking your holiday to include any and ALL allergies, You WILL Be looked after). The Chef was aware from our first meeting (Day of arrival - He knew my name when i introduced myself) Main Restaurant for B/Fast and Evening meal ONLY, Lunch is at different Restaurant (Mexican/Steak). The choice and variety was very good BUT everything was either infused with, marinaded in or has some other connection to GARLIC. We discussed this and Chef (David, Jorge cooked me my choice of meal and delivered it to our table, which got the questions and murmurs going around the restaurant). request a Seafood Paella for our Anniversary Dinner which was NOT a problem, Duly arrive at 19.20 and led to decorated table with sparkly bits, napkins in shape of swans forming heart, and the Paella arrived with a lot of Pomp, there was enough for 6, we managed a third and then a choc cake arrived, which of course we had to have a slice or 3:) Thankyou Chefs and our waiters Nestor, Dalila, Chacha and the others. Highlight: of restaurant was they have Proper Smooth Peanut Butter at Breakfast:). Down side: The different water and tea bags does NOT result in decent cup of Tea (even using our own t-bags). There are an Asian, Italian Mexican Or steak Restaurant for evening meals as an alternative The Asian and Italian are NOT Al a Carte, there is No real dress code, you do NOT have to book and occasionally we observed larger groups turning up who had to wait for smaller tables to finish before they could be seated, Not 5*. Swimming Pools/Swim up Bar: Beach Towels available from 08:00. Both areas are very good (Warning Security will ask children to LEAVE the swim up bar area). The pools are tested for water quality etc weekly, I believe. They are ALL Very warm and NOT Heavily Chlorinated, Oh Joy:). The Poolside bars open at 10 am (On the Dot and NOT before so take cold water/drinks from your room). Beach: Is wonderful:) Palm trees, Brilliant Sunrises, Windy conditions mean a few waves, which can tumble you around closer to the shore and there is a small drop off which on the way back in can catch you out. Teams of tractors and other equipment collecting overnight seaweed from before 06.00 until it is done (another reason for going as previously mention - NO seaweed probs). Both Beach and Poolside have More than enuf sunbeds (Not Reservable from early on - Yeah Right. I was out from 05.45 and there were towels on beds, but as mentioned you WILL find a space on beach or poolside, Lots of shade in both areas for the fair skinned). Animation Team: They are a diverse bunch of lads and lasses. very helpful but NOT intrusive. They will advise, guide on all matters outside entertainment OR direct you to someone who can help if they don't know the answer. Friday Nights (Alternate) seem to be the main PARTY NIGHTS. Neon Party 1 Friday then White Party the following Friday, Lots of fluorescent face paint, dress accordingly (WARNING - The venue is in different Hotel and i had reports of people returning back early because of large crowds (3-4K and No AC). there is an over 18 Disco after main event till 02:00. saw numerous party goers the following morning On the beach or Reception area fast asleep, reception staff on occasions collecting them in wheelchairs to return them to their respective rooms. Surroundings: Lots of wildlife (NONE Dangerous). Mainly lawns, hedging and tropical type trees, lack of Flowers (Maybe too early? ) Character of Hotel: Not very Impressive (as other 5*s we have been too), Needs Colour. Plastic covered furniture in reception and bar areas not very comfortable in the heat. Only 1 place in Reception where there is a breeze, and only 6 settees which are generally filled, i wonder why????. Smoking: Designated "Smoking Area" for those that partake (Me incl). NO SMOKING on your room balcony. Everyone smoked outside the main reception throughout the day (Although not encouraged by hotel but there were |NO ashtray available, so cleaning/gardening staff constantly sweeping and picking up dog ends (Sorry to the rest of hotel guest for my habit) Why NOT put some ashtrays or pots of sand to contain the dog ends etc)????
