Jan 11, 2025Beautiful Place
Our second RIU vacation, the first being in Negil Jamaica 2 years ago. My family has taken other all-inclusive trips in the past, all in Jamaica (Beaches and FDR come to mind), so this was our first all-inclusive to another country. The 7-mile beach in Jamaica is amazing, but I found this beach just as nice; white sand, clear water, sandy bottom- not weedy like in RIU Negril. The beach at the Palace has a scattering of huge palm trees, making it easy to find sun or shade. Their 3 pools are close together, but attract different crowds (families in the largest, partiers in the swim up bar, and another smaller pool with a vball net). The rooms were large enough for us (we had 2 rooms, with 3 adults in each room) with a very nice balcony (one of our rooms had 2 balconies). The food was OK; not Michelin good, but we could always find tasty options. We tried all of the themed restaurants over the 8 days we visited and the steak house, on the beach, was our favorite. The small grill at the pool was also a lunchtime favorite with the chicken, burgers, and hot dogs. My primary knock on the place (besides no popcorn in the sports bar!) was the entertainment as we didn't find the evening shows as entertaining/engaging as those at RIU Negril. In my opinion, a bit more thought/energy could be focused on improving the evening entertainment. Transfer from the airport was seamless with the van ride lasting about 20 mins. Check in and check out was easy. The staff were all friendly. I would recommend.

Jan 08, 2025A few changes are needed
Ive been here a bunch of times. Why do the rules change for visiting other RIU resorts every couple years? Why arent RIU guests welcome on other RIU Resorts anymore. It was always nice walking the sidewalk and stopping at other RIU bars along the way. Now some of the other resorts even have roped off areas where people pay more than others to sit like cattle in a pen. Why would some people want to feel richer than people 20 feet away outside the pen? ITS THE SAME BEACH!!! I walked 45 minutes to RIU REPUBLIC to be told by the guard on the corner that i couldnt even use the bathroom let alone visit the resort. Ive walked down there 6 times with no problem in other years. I always walk up to the guard, show him my RIU PALACE bracelet, and have never been told i couldnt grab a beer for the walk back until this trip. What made RIU so great was that all guests were treated equally on EVERY resort. My last complaint has to do with the small guy with dread locks that almost ran my child over with a scooter on the sidewalk by the pool. I yelled at him and he just laughed as he drove away. He works for the entertainment crew and i also watched him yell at a girl dancer the next day to the point that it made her cry. He needs to be FIRED. LETS MAKE RIU GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

If I could give a zero I would. The food at this resort is inedible, for a place that makes so much food, it is all bad. Everything has zero taste. It was a game to figure out what flavor the food was. We lived on pineapple, cucumber slices and French fries for 7 days. The drinks are bad too. All but one of our outlets in our room didn’t work either. Soap dispensers were broken off the wall and just hanging. The only redeeming quality is the beach and the pool and the weather was good. The grounds are beautiful but that’s about it. Save your money and go somewhere else. Do not book here.

We had an absolutely beautiful and memorable experience here! Thank you to an amazing team who took care of all our needs and made us feel truly welcome. The food is great! The beach is beautiful. The resort had enough beach chairs for everyone including the pools. spotless resorts. Nice size rooms with balconies. House keeping did a great job

Rismery is the best!
Great experience, beautiful beach and a huge shout out to Rismery at the front desk who helped us navigate horrendous flight delays with calm and grace. Can’t say enough good things about how professional and courteous Rismery is, thank you!
