Hotel Spring Break Policies - Minimum Age Condition: At least one person 21 years or older is required in every room during February thru May. The Hotel reserves the right of admission and may request guests show passport or official ID to prove age. During the remainder of the year, at least one person 18 or older is required in every room. Guests can and will be removed from the property at their own expense in case of any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff.

    Just as Wonderful

    Just returned from our third visit at Riu Palace Punta. We will be back next year to see all our friends. The staff is absolutely wonderful and they have remembered us as well. From the Garcia who greets us when we return to the front desk checking us in to all the servers and the entertainment and housekeeping, thank you for always ensuring we have a wonderful stay at our home away from home! See you next year!

    Happy with Riu Palace Punta Cana

    We really enjoyed the resort. We had excellent service from Sanchez at the buffet...Anthony at the pool..Victor in the sports bar..Miguel who taught aquabics..the best I have ever done Enrique who booked our Siana Island trip..that was amazing Our Sunwing rep Teo was incredible..very informative and we booked a trip with him. I do have one concern the smoking in the buffet outside.I feel there should be a designated smoking area at the buffet...We love to eat outside but I am allergic to smoke . I hope you can address this issue please.. The rooms were clean and I loved the friendliness of the staff..We will be back

    Beautiful resort but not the 5 star palace we are used to.

    First off, the resort is large,beautiful and clean. The gorgeous beach is really why we booked this resort. We loved it. There is a lot of palm trees and quite peaceful on beach. You can walk miles and the water is fantastic. I have to say, we have been to Mexico for many years and love the Riu resorts on the Mayan Riviera. It was hard for us because we were always comparing to Mexico’s resorts. They are definitely a step up compared to Punta Cana. In Mexico, if you stay at a Palace you have access to all the other Riu resorts. The reason we love that, when you vacation for two weeks you need to roam. We felt quite isolated there. We still went into the other resorts to compare and check everything out. They really should change that in Punta Cana. We had a great room. We slept like babies. The A/C and fan worked great. The bed Was good and bathroom clean and nice. The housekeeping kept our room clean but what irritated us, almost everyday there was something forgotten. Towels etc. It wasn’t huge but enough to get on your nerves after two weeks. One night we came back to have a shower after being on beach all day and no towels at all. We waited an hour for towels! They gave us a bottle of wine for our room on our anniversary but no opener. We asked twice for an opener but gave up and just left room to have wine. One morning we were on our way to breakfast and there was a broken glass on the ramp to main walkway in courtyard. It was there all day with a yellow caution pylon there. Next morning it was still there broken glass and all. We went on an all day excursion and came back and still there. next day and it was still there. We saw young kids walking through the glass. It was unbelievable to us. We complained to front desk and it was finally cleaned up. The one thing that was very apparent to us is the tipping. If you want good service, you better walk around with a wad of money in your hand. They are a very tip oriented resort. Trust me, we tipped but they are not shy of showing you the kind of service you will receive by tipping. We found Mexico more respectful how they received their tips . What really turned me off, one night they were asking guests for feedback reviews at dinner time. We were filling them out and the waiters were all walking around us looking over our shoulders as were were filling out our reviews! Wow! I don’t even know what to say about that. The entertainment is ok but it is kind of boring. The live music was great. We liked the piano playing and one night listened to a violinist which was great. There was no real schedule posted that we were aware of when they played. This resort has so much potential but it was just the little things that just didn’t sit well for us. I loved the beach etc but unfortunately I don’t think we will return. We just love the service, food and resorts better in Mexico. However, I still would recommend this resort to people but just not for us.

    Great place, one of the best in DR

    The pros -Staff is amazing in all aspects, friendly, playful, and hardworking -food is good -beach and water front great -rooms and grounds well kept and up to date -the riu parties are very fun -poolside service great -bar service is great -liquor selection great (JD all week) - didn't have to beg for bottled water like most resorts - tea and coffee bar was awesome Cons -the desserts are so-so - the linen in the rooms aren't changed when the sign is put out - the room cleanings aren't bad but can be better -the place shuts down after 11 (ghost town) -the average age seems to he 40+ Extra shout outs and bravo zulus to gil our poolside server, diroche and michael our table extraordinaires, and my boy Yan (in pic) the party planner with more energy than a squirrel! 🤣 All staff exhibited high work ethic and service +++ *side note* people complaining about the english of the staff. I did not have one issue with english and the staff. I however saw where I think the disconnect was. When other peoples second language was english and they tried to talk to staff for certain things, and if Americans with wacky a** accents tried to talk to staff, there was communication troubles. Not the staffs fault.

    Not impressed

    Resort is nice, views are beautiful. About half the staff is good. Pool bar staff is great. All inclusive was a fail. Call to have drinks delivered to the room and they dont have the courtesy to even answer the phone. Food is mediocre at best. If it wasn't for the weather and the company we were with this would be a 1 star
